I lucked out and found 4 singles...........long time ago.
  4. I agree with DTEL, it's best to have the front 3 speakers the same and not mix Heritage and Reference. You will definitely need a sub.
  5. I am the original owner and purchased new. 4 inputs and 8 outputs. These latest Ashly Protea digital processors are really nice clean analog sounding units. Very easy to use this unit from the front panel or with free downloadable Protea PC software and USB cable. Unit is in mint condition and comes with all original packaging and documentation. Was $650 , now $600/ BO includes shipping to the lower 48. I will also offer 12 quality XLR to RCA adaptors for an additional $80. I used this processor with multiple RCA jack equipped amps with no noise issues whatsoever.
  6. I don't have any lighting behind my horns so you are correct the holes are not obvious.
  7. I'm originally from Syracuse. 40 winters up there. Been everywhere up that way over the years. Used to go to Canada just to buy beer. Now I hate snow. I don't to the snow very much. 🙂
  8. Steal of the century...........even if not a genuine Klipsch product. These are excellent networks.
  9. Yes 1978 is correct, my mistake. Several letters were skipped in the serialized process. I, O, Q, V, and Z. My count was off.
  10. At the very least you could separate them and sell the ES5800 boards. Those are common to all of ALK ESNs and useful otherwise to be able to use a single amp for a mid and tweeter horn combo. If no one buys these, and before you throw them out, send me a PM.
  11. Very nice. I believe the badges indicate 1980.
  12. You could always bolt a 510 assembly to your horns like I did. That cuts the unused holes to 6. What's a half dozen holes among friends? I have to say I have had 402 horns for a really long time and I never looked at the holes. It's usually somewhat dark in my room. But I'm not a hole looker I guess. Quit looking at your horns man, your going to have an audio nervosa breakdown.
  13. Well someone might like the holes and actually drill more for better sound. To each there own I guess. 🙂
  14. I have never heard anyone mention this before. Were you ever able to measure any difference with the holes plugged?
  15. Wow............getting to be a steal now. The price is less than half of what they cost new, and these are pretty much brand new.
  16. That's what I thought as well. There is no hint of a crossover. I thought the top end (402 / Celestion driver) was absolutely perfect after hearing everyone's music over 2 days. For me, that is saying a lot..............that I could not think of anything or want to adjust anything whatsoever. The imaging was excellent as well. There was a point where I was sitting front and center by myself and someone played a Van Halen tune. While the speakers were far right and left of me the vocals were directly in front of me in the center of the room. The other main point for me is how low the bass bin goes. It's like there is a super clean sub inside it. On some of those test tracks played at volume the low notes were moving my eyes and this is absolutely no exaggeration. Mike and Cory pretty much summed everything up about how good these new Jubs really are. They are truly the new flagship of Klipsch home speakers of any kind. Compared to the workmanship on other Klipsch speakers I've seen and owned, it seems the factory has stepped up the quality of builds. The fit and finish is astonishing. There are odd shaped and detailed parts that fit together like a puzzle and the accuracy of fit, and quality of paint and finish is the best I've seen from Klipsch. Look close at the very bottom of the Jub. It is standing on a MASSIVE base that contours around the bass bin. No fooling around. That thing is serious and a few inches thick. Edit: Oh..........and I think the new Jubs look very cool with the grills off. To me that's how I like them best.
  17. I never use the analog output of a PC or laptop. I only use the various digital outs and it sounds much better using an outboard DAC.
  18. There was a point where I used the 691 drivers on the K402 horns and used Roy's settings in 2-way using a Xilica processor and honestly that sounded very good and was hard to beat. It was probably the closest I ever got to the sound in the Klipsch lab listening room when Roy demo'd the commercial jubs a few years ago. It was his exact setup. They sounded good with virtually any type of music. It was plug and play. Very underrated. The only reason I made a change was that I acquired some TAD 4002 drivers which simply sounded superior and I have stuck with those right up till now on my Jub setup. I moved the 691s to the 510 tweeters and they are still there today.
  19. I would immediately replace the lascalas with something bigger from Klipsch like Khorns, Jubs, MCM. That would give a major immediate improvement without changing anything else. Changing a sub, a DAC, and amp..........that would not do what the above would.
