  1. For you guys that have this CD, am I the only one that hears a serious distortion on the vocals (mostly on the oooos) and some of the piano ditys between vocals on the first track, Sunrise. It sounds like they put more on the disc than it can handle. I call it over modulation, as in the old CB days when someone had their mic gain up too high. Please tell me I am not the only one hearing this.
  2. But what if you are the guy that is paying the light bill and the rent/note on the space to warehouse and display the speakers only to have people come in to try out your speakers, only to order them direct from Klipsch at 25% off? I wouldn't stock them. The only way I, as a retailer would do that deal would be the way my dad and I used to work with a furniture wholsaler. We would give the customer a card with the percent markup we expected, and the wholsaler would send us our markup after the sale. The customer had to do all the delivery and set-up themselves. We never touched the merchandise.
  3. I have a Yamaha for my HT and was initially disappointed with the seeming abundance of highs while set flat. I played with the controls and with the bass set at WFO/max it almost sounds the same as my Scott 299 tube amp. I quess flat is only flat when the speakers are flat and Klipsch aren't flat, they're fat.
  4. Symmetry is a beautiful thing.
  5. It looks like the Onkyo will do the calculations for you. I would guess you could do it either way. If it were me, I would add 4 ms delay to the surrounds, both sides and rears. I would be that if you enter the distances into the Onkyo, it would add about the same amount. Good luck.
  6. Forgot to mention, I be the BB is BR. I have seen other labels where the R looked like a B.
  7. I too believe Allan is correct. If you look at the bottom of one of the speakers you can see where the finish is chipped out. I have never seen wood veneer with a different color back, especially one that chips out like that. I have however seen a lot of formica that looks exactly like that chip. I vote formica. They would have to be dirt cheap for me to mess with them.
  8. The delay is a very important setting. My belle center is about five feet or about 5 milliseconds closer to my ears. By adding 5 ms delay, I have electronically moved my center speaker back 5 feet which is 2 feet deep into my wall. You will notice a difference. Gunshots now come from the entire front of the room instead of the center with an echo in the left and right corners. The same can be done with the rears. If they are closer to where you sit, you can scoot them back with the delay so it sounds like you are in a larger room. If the movie has a gunshot in the front and you don't have a delay on the rear speakers, you may hear the richochet before the gun goes off. That would suck.
  9. I agree Artto. I was impressed that it sounded as good as it did considering the size. It didn't go really low and it didn't go really high, but for male vocals and a six string guitar, it did pretty good. It wasn't as clean and clear as my Horns but it was still impressive. The whole thing wasn't much larger than a couple of guitar cases. Very portable and ideal for the type music and venue the guy was playing. Just call me deaf and impressed. PS, I'm not selling my horns.
  10. I have the same front you do but I added Cornwalls for the rear. Stay with the Heritage. "Trust Me".
  11. Went to my favorite fajita eatery tonight and they had live entertainment. One guy with a microphone, an accoustical guitar and a small effects generator sitting on a bar stool. He had it all going into a 6 foot tall speaker that sat abuot 3' to the side and about 2' behind him, about 4" diameter and a sub-box that was a little larger than a gym bag. It sounded great. He said they cost about $2000 and a lot of small bands playing for 50-500 people are using them as the only speakers. Each band member has one. That way, all the band can hear each other without monitors and when one guy solo's, the sound comes from him instead of the tower of speakers that would normally be on each side of the stage. Really neat setup. I was impressed. Here is a link to the Bose site. http://tinyurl.com/yqhnw
  12. Forgot to mention, I don't ride a Harley so I am not changing the cord simply for looks.
  13. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. If your amp is operating at 100% and needing more power and the power cord is only allowing 90% of what is available at the wall, yes, a better cord will improve the sound. I never run my amps at 100%, my 90% cord is fine.
  14. Just wanted to make sure you noticed using "boiled linseed oil".
  15. My son and I put a lot of time and money in a $1000 "69 Ford Pick UP about 6 years ago. We built it for SQ. Silk domed component speakers, Sealed Kickers in the back and everything else is Clarion. It still did 136 on the dash. He still drives it. His last truck did 142 with a single 10" Kicker Solo Baric and a Memphis 1100 watt digital amp.
  16. I want to respond with something profound. All I can come up with is "Wow".
  17. Sorry folks. My son decided he didn't want to come up and now that I can't use his truck, I can't figure out how to strap the two Cornwalls on the motorcycle so I guess I am going to be a no-show.
  18. Should be one of each so you can do it either way. As to which, I guess it would depend on the room and how far apart they are.

  20. Hey Royster, I checked out your profile and I may have missed something. Could be I don't know what I am looking at, but, wouldn't your system sound better if you had speakers?
  21. I like mine better naked. There us a guy on the list that makes and sells a cover. He usually has a listing on ebay.
