    Mug Shots

Since others have posted mugs with their wives, here's my updated mug with my wife.
  2. Calling the Ballpark in Arlington (as it was originally named) the "old" place makes me feel old. I attended the first night game there, which was the second game ever there, and that really doesn't seem that long ago to me. Oh well, I guess I am old. Sadly, my employer offered me (and all employees over 59) early retirement last week. Even more sadly, there is no way I can afford to retire now.

    What I Got Today!

Then you will really like the 511Bs. I've been using them in my Khorns for years.

    What I Got Today!

Nice. What are you going to do with those?
  5. I'm operating one-handed for a while. I burned the crap out of my right hand yesterday on a cast iron skillet. My photos would be prior to digital and not so easy to find.
  6. Not sure, and I am not inclined to pull them out to look (I may have photos of the labels somewhere). I do know the the bass bins SNs were 1989 and the tops 1990 (or vice versa).
  7. I replaced a pair of CW IIs with Khorns (1990 AK3 also) in my living room about 15 years ago. The CWs were much more forgiving with regards to speaker placement and room treatments, but once the Khorns were "diailed in" to the room, then CWs could not compare to the big, dynamic, live sound of the Khorns. That was 15 years ago (sold the CW IIs since). Give it some time and work with your room.
  8. Hey baby is right. They look like giant baby walkers. At least you have a way to stand up if you get really drunk.
  9. Absolutely! I could have bought a beer for everyone in the stands and got change back for a twenty, but I chose to watch on TV. I did see Laura Bush sitting next to Pudge Rodriguez behind home plate. They looked a little stiff.
  10. It's late July and they are undefeated. When will we ever be able to say that again!
  11. That's really dumb. Those wheels are much too small to roll smoothly on that boardwalk. What were they thinking?
  12. Yes, and they probably get their peat from the same bogs.
  13. Two months away. I hope this happens because I need something to look forward to.
  14. I was sipping on a shot of Ardbeg a few nights ago. My wife came into the room from somewhere else in the house and asked me if I was using chemicals.
  15. I've eaten there. Food is okay, burgers are highly rated in the area. I don't think I could finish that challenge.
  16. Last night in my area it was too overcast in the NW sky to see anything. The comet is setting a little later each night. Sunday night by 11pm CDT it was too low too see. Get out about 1 hr after sunset for the best chance to see it.
  17. Here are some photos of Comet Neowise that I shot over the weekend. Brightest comet in over 20 years, but not nearly as spectacular as Hale-Bopp in 1996-97. Still, it is worth getting out the binoculars to look for it after sundown (under the big dipper). I live in the middle of the DFW Metroplex where the light pollution is horrible, but still was able to get some decent images. Saturday night over my house. Sunday night over Lake Grapevine. Sunday night (300 mm lens).
  18. I guess we have to follow the same policy that a friend of mine posted on his boat yesterday:
  19. That was one of my favorite films for shooting 35mm where lighting was adequate. Then I got a 6x6 camera and found I could get similar resolution with higher speed film (of course it is hard to shoot action with a Yashica Mat). Then again, I shot sports, mainly football, for three local newspapers when I was in HS. With the reproduction quality of a newspaper, I could shoot Tri-X and push to ASA 1600 with great results. Kind of analogous to crappy sound reproduction gear not benefiting from Hi-Res audio.
  20. Deep Purple, Long Goodbye Tour 2017, Houston, TX - Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. We had great seats.
  21. In his book "The Wanderings of an Elephant Hunter" (1923), W. D. M. "Karamojo" Bell mentions freed American slaves in Liberia who became slave owners there. How ironic.

" A Christian, she is a regular worshipper at Holy Trinity Brompton." I'm guessing the pews are regularly packed at Holy Trinity Brompton.
  23. Sounds like standard navigation lights. Experimental aircraft perhaps?
