  1. Kansas City, Kansas side, was the first city in the country where Google began their fiber service. Google laid infrastructure in my area just west of KC last summer. They offered a free hook up service for early sign up, around $375 I think. After this gratis sign up you are charged the $375 hook up fee. We passed, high speed Internet is not a priority for me and my wife.
  2. Now them is fighting words! Easy there Big Fella - last thing you want is to hook up with 392 cubic inches of Dodge Hemi power. Craig raced a 440 cid Camaro that ran sub 10 second quarters. The current crop of FCA hemis would not scare him. I don't ever recall a "stock" Chevy of 440ci so we are comparing apples to oranges. Nor would Any stock Camaro run in the 9's. Apples and oranges again. Unless you confused the ci displacement with the mighty Dodge 440's of yesteryear. I bet the current stock SRT 392 Would scare his stock Camaro, not his racing version. The current 100% stock ZL1 Camaro would and does out run any factory stock Hemi powered vehicle ever produced without breathing hard.... Chevy ruled the race world always has and always will!! Come on Craig - comparing apples to watermelons again. Yes ZL1 compared to any stock Hemi, even my 6.4/392, is no contest. The comparison is STOCK ZL1 to STOCK Challenger Hellcat being both are supercharged. THAT is the comparison. And good luck -

  5. And preaching, arguing, whatever you want to call it the "best" of any one topography is like preaching the virtues of a Ford Mustang to a Camero lover and vise versa. And besides, everyone knows Dodge Hemi power rules!!!
  6. I do not preach the virtues of single ended but know thats the sonic presentation I favor. I've had more amps through my rig than I care to mention which always get sold for - another single ended. I do not and do not intend to listen at concert levels so mid to hi power is not a requirement with my KHorns. And if I do I always keep a little extra power amp in reserve. Currently enjoying 5 watts of tube rectified EL84 and if my offer is accepted monoblock 2a3 will be on there way.
  7. I mean why not, what could hurt. I actually do keep my speaker wire from laying on the carpet - -- My elevators - Otis of course. Makes those Cardas blocks look pretty puny - and mine have a capacity of 4500 lbs.
  8. Thanks Fjd - your point on the 60's and VRD's is well taken. While the VRD's sounded mighty fine I finally gave in that I favored lower power single ended. Which is why I tilt heavily to the 30's and its supposed "mellowed" presentation as compared. And aside from sonics is the iconic nature of the Mc's. Pairing the 30's with KHorns would make for a True Heritage system.
  9. The 30's use the 6L6 output tube, the 60's use 6550. Research tells me a restored 30 has some of the best mid-range you could ask for, a little soft both top and bottom. The 60's with more controlled bass, extended top end and not as lush mids as the 30's. Seller is a great fellow and hasn't decided which or both pair to sell. Either way I will most likely own one or the other, or both.
  10. Which would you choose - McIntosh Mc30's or Mc60's. Both pair are near mint quality and have been DeWicked. Have never heard either but I am buying one or the other. 30 watts vs. 60 watts really of no consequence with KHorns. $$$ will be same for either.

    Play Ball!

Royals-Mets re-match. First time the WS winner plays the WS looser on opening day. Needless to say -- Let's Go Royals!
  12. Sold in 30 minutes plugged full of .45 slugs? Just additional features I guess -- . Good on you.
  13. As I said in a previous post OU goes as Buddy goes and Buddy goes for 9. Living in Big 12 country I've watched numerous OU games and while they are good they need Buddy's 30+ point average. OU is stymied without him. Then again it's tough to beat any team that shoots 72%. Doubtful OU could have won this game under any circumstance.
  14. "One can clearly see from this equation" - hope like helll this is directed to one of you. That equation is well above my pay grade or grade level for that matter. But yeah I'll take a couple cans.
  15. Shoot the damnn thing! With my acumen on the .45 a 'fridge sized target would be about right. Might actually put some holes in it!
  16. What Shu said - my 392 Hemi with active exhaust makes some some very fine music. Quickly paced I might add.
  17. Well at least you have one shoe to kick his asss with, good luck hoppin' over!
  18. I've had cold pizza for breakfast many times. Mmmmmm. You might try cryogenic treated "cold" pizza. I mean Real cold pizza. Hey, it works for hifi gear why not pizza?!
  19. Must sound good - blew your shoes clean off! Can you even locate the other one?
  20. Looks like that problem has been locked up.
  21. I believe Mr. Gump summed it up quite nicely - "Stupid is as stupid does".
  22. A truer statement has never been spoken. I probably couldn't count on both hands the times I've had that thought ---
  23. If Buddy is hot OU can win it all. If not they will have a tough go especially if they get in the ring with NC. I watched him get 48 against the Jyhawks in a three OT losing effort. OU needs a hot Buddy to win it all.
  24. Yes we are bloomin' here too. Grass is very green and already of cutting height - twice already this early spring.
  25. So I wake up this morning a little later than normal and it's Snowing! Not enough to amount to anything, sticking on the grass, wetting the streets, but coming down pretty good. Now at 3 o'clock not a cloud in the sky and 55. We've had some real ups and downs temp wise - 70's to 40's to 50's. But all in all nothing to complain about.
