  1. You know this is an 8 year old question right?
  2. Looks like you need to get a bag of crickets together.
  3. I'm not going to argue the merits of having a sub, rather I'll agree with you on this observation. I'm a huge proponent of subs and their benefits. My only thoughts were that if he feels he NEEDS a sub with those speakers that something was amiss albeit setup or amplification. I never felt I NEEDED a sub with my RF-5's. I couldn't get a sub fast enough for my Lascalas.
  4. (Flame suit on) I think people would have more compassion if she dies from a congenital heart issue, cancer, plane wreck, etc (issues beyond her control) rather than just geting f....d up. She had a gift and, the world was at her feet, and people who will never have her level of talent or success could be bothered by the fact that she just threw it away. In the interest of full disclosure, I don't put cancer and addiction in the same definition of disease.
  5. It say "for S/PDIF, Digital Coax, Subwoofer & Composite Video " so I would think it would work.
  6. In the interest of ENLIGHTENMENT.[] Or HERE.
  7. I've got to remember that one. Good one sput.
  8. I'm not sure which is better but I don't think I have ever seen a manufacturer use spikes on the bottom of their sub, only rubber feet. Don't know if that says something or not. Rubber feet are used because the'll work on virtually all floors. Spikes can ruin hardwood or laminate floors and will scoot on tile.
  9. Couldn't you just copy and paste the particular post you want, or don't I understand your question?
  10. I'm always in favor of identical duplicate redundancy, always....[] [H]
  11. I ran a pair of RF-5's with a 100wpc Carver amp and they just pounded the bass. Are you sure the receiver is set for "large" for the L&R's? He may not be getting the entire signal sent to the speakers if the previous use for the receiver was HT. It may be set to "small". The other issue may be the amplifier section of the receiver, it may not be up to task. RF-5's with a stout amp shouldn't need a sub for any type of music other than maybe organ.
  12. Don't get too excited, he put ME in there too. Evidently the membership bar has been placed pretty low................................
  13. Here it is. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/132061.aspx?PageIndex=1
  14. There's been one since then, I'll do some digging.............................no promises though.

I might try an auto tuba for music, but not HT.

  17. Before you go performing surgery, why don't you cover one of the offerding tweeters with cardboard (or whatever's handy) and block the sound to see how you like it.
  18. Gotta keep technical support happy.
  19. At 89 dB sensitivity, you'll have to crank them to be properly calibrated with your fronts. I'd be tempted to look at the Klipsch offerings that are around 92-93 dB.
  20. Yes. You can always try another sub cable to be sure, but my money's on the amp being the issue. You can also try another source instead of your receiver to make sure your LFE out channel didn't wig out, but like I said............................

36x36x24 might be big for his space.
  22. The Sub 10 and 12 amps are prone to crap out. If you use the search function, you should find several threads.
  23. There should be a fuse holder right below where the power cord attatches to the amp. I'd check that first.
