  1. What a great offer! I'll take those La Scala cabs. I have the extra spare parts needed, and am always looking for a project. PM or email me with a good pick time that works for you. I'll be in the Midland area middle of the week. Thanks, dwillie.
  2. Thank you for the correction. Yes, I mean the KPT-484 (18" woofer). I assume the "T" is for Theater? I've come across a pair of these for a very reasonable amount. It's motivating me to make a move I've meant to do for quite a while. Thanks again. d.
  3. Thanks in advance. I'm using 4 Pro La Scala's as a live band PA and would like to add a little extra bottom end. Not interested in home theater type lows, or what some call "dance music" lows, just a little more extension from the La Scala's. EV makes some sub-woofers, so does JBL and Cerwyn Vega. Any opinion on the KP-484? I'd use electrics to crossover. d.
  4. I'll add to the hat too. Post up your email/PayPal. d
  5. I have a HK 730 I bought from a fellow forum member. Wonderful and I love it. It replaced a Luxman R1070. d.
  6. They look great,...congratulations. I wish I still had mine. d.
  7. My HIP's which I used for many years, came stock with 55m's, square 77's and heavy duty woofers and crossovers. I loved these speakers and with the right amp can be very powerful sounding. They lack bass of course, but are very clear and a sub can solve the bass problem easily. I kept mine in the stock finish (which was non-textured black), but they would look good in just about any finish choice. d.
  8. I agree with SF on the 15" being too big a speaker. Most guitarists I know seem to prefer single 12, dual 12 or quad 12's. Celestion makes a great speaker for RnR or Blues. Marshall amps used this brand almost exclusively. Jensen was also used in Fender amps forever. You can buy these speakers pretty cheap from the big box music stores. Fender used a lot of open back boxes, while Marshall used sealed backs. Tubes sound wonderful on guitar amps. The tubes and pre-amp sections color and saturate the sound on purpose. You'll find el-34's in Marshall's and 6l6-GC's and 12AX7's in Fender and Mesa Boogie. d.
  9. ..........."one full size Hammond B-3." (with Leslie!)......I hear what you're sayin'. d.
  10. Are these for sale? If so, who is the seller? Thanks, d.
  11. Just checking. Did you find a repair shop to fix the dead channel on your 2020? I'm looking too. d.
  12. I agree. It's going to be a great summer. We've already had a few nice days around here, and I've been able to get the bike out for a quick ride. NICE RIDE SPEAKERFRITZ!! A bike like that should be good for some nice long days on the road. I've always liked that model Harley the best of all. I already have my annual summer trip plans made. I'll head out west and travel a bit in some of my favorite states. Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and Montana. My wife doesn't enjoy riding so as ususal, I'll be heading out on my own. Should be out for about 13 days. A lot of fun if you like that sort of thing. Here's a shot of my bike. dwillie.
  13. And NOT from the lacquer? My Heresy IIs have no labels, but they are genuine Klipsch. The inspection stickers are on the inside, but alas, no serial numbers. The original owner must have removed them from the black lacquered cabs for esthetics, and I dont really mind a whole lot, but it would be nice to have the SNs.Bruce With no serial numbers and black laquered cabs, they may not be real Klipsch speakers. Maybe someone built the cabs from parts. d
  14. Thanks Cris. The logo's arrived in great shape and they look very nice. Your creative and artistic packing style will soon be copied by everyone. As you know, I asked for 3 black logo's with silver trim, and they came out perfect. All three match each other and you couldn't pick one out from another. They look fantastic on my three La Scala's. Why, I think they even sound better now. If anyone is sitting on the fence right now about ordering some of these, I say go for it now. The price is right, service is fast, quality is as good as it gets, and you just never know for whatever reason, when the supply might dry up and stop. Thanks again Cris. Please let me know if/when a copper tint can be used similar to the bronze type you are using. I'd like three more. dwillie.
  15. Very nice Chris. I can't wait to get them. Thanks, d.
  16. If there's still room, count me in. I've sent you a PM. dwillie.
  17. $400. is a great price. No worries. d.
  18. First, I'd like to say thanks to all who have responded to my plea for 4 LaScala's. We are making some progress on our sound project. Also thanks to the "board" for letting me squeeze in a request like this. I don't post very much as I can't offer the expertise most of you can, but I'm here often enough to learn something each time I visit. Yes!! Stacked LaScala's with subs underneath, and Crown Micro-Tech's along with DC 300A's. A road trip to Indy? Absolutely! I used to visit my Aunt in when she lived in Beech Grove a few years ago. Thanks again, dwillie.
  19. Hello Klipsch fans. I'm in need of 2 pairs of LaScala's for a project I'm working on. We're not too particular on the cabinet style (they can be black or blonde, standard or industrial, split top or not), but they do need to be working and ready to wire up and go. A few scratches here and there are of no consequence. If anyone here has some LaScala's for sale, or knows someone else who does, please let me know, I'd appreciate it, and thanks in advance. I'm in the western Chicago area, and would drive a reasonable distance to pick them up. Thanks, dwillie.
  20. It's been 8 months for me. I'll never smoke again. dwillie.
  21. I bought two of the DC 300A's and couldn't be happier. It's been on my mind to write up a quick review and tell all, but times been rather short last week and a half. If I could, I'd buy two more. I'll add a few comments later as time permits. BTW, any more out there? dwillie.
  22. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7390380804&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 Except for the very obvious, I don't know to much about this type of speaker. I know it can be used with small "satellite" speakers to get more bottom end. I know they can possibly consume a lot of power. Do they have a crossover in the cabinet? Could the addition of one of these turn a LaScala into a 4-way system using that crossover? I'm curious to know more. dwillie.
