  1. Gotta balance the P and the PC. I read it about 35 years ago and that part stuck with me.
  2. Don't know the hospital so don't know for sure, but I bet they are a Not For Profit vs Non-Profit. Seems like nit picking but they are very different. Non-Profit is typically a charity. I've been loosely associated with a Not For Profit for 20+ years via consulting agreements between them and my company. Believe me they are all about profit. 😁 As for the OP sounds like your hang up. When somebody tells me that they work for a non-profit, I don't feel dirty, I don't feel anything at all. I assume (maybe incorrectly) the person believes in the mission/reason/goal of the charity and are proud to be working for them. Perhaps they think by telling you that, you will ask about the mission and contribute to them if you feel the same way they do.
  3. @arttogive this a look. Let me know if you have other Room questions
  4. Fake news. Don't believe everything you see online https://www.freep.com/story/sports/columnists/mitch-albom/2022/02/04/mitch-albom-jim-harbaugh-michigan-football-nfl-minnesota-vikings/6645110001/
  5. Works like a champ, better results than I expected. It's been used exactly twice once on two different turn tables. Virtually new. Still has original battery. The new ones are $400. Built like a tank, feels like a laboratory instrument. $250 + 10 fixed shipping (any more and I'll pick up the difference) PayPal Friends and Family or PM for other arrangements. Any questions or comments please PM me. As I don't need any luck with the sale and I know it looks nice.πŸ˜πŸ™„

Yes please....all YouTube links. We all know how to search
  7. Work on the reading comprehension 😜 It would be a 2 then 1 purchase not 3 at once. If I had not recently redone my office system I think that cool 3-stack from them might be just what the Dr. ordered. Special price for you...$400.
  8. Ok, good to know. I only know enough to be dangerous. That is why I always try to vet my ideas against you all. So much good collective knowledge here. I guess I just thought in my mind that since the Xillica could do 8 in and 8 out it was the correct/only way to do it. I've got different amps and processing for HT vs 2-channel. And corresponding presets for the Xillica. I had a couple of spares so it just made sense to me that I would map the left IN to 2 Outs vs 1 and same with the right. Y cable seems easier now that you (and @babadono) pointed that out. Now I guess the quest is to go hunting for a XLR to dual TRS Y cable....only to cut the XLR off and use the Phoenix on the 8080 <sigh>
  9. I'll await your review and garage sale posting for $300 as noted elsewhere in this thread. 😁 Agree on all things Nelson you mentioned. I still can't believe how good the darn things sounds. I've not had any regrets getting rid of all my tube gear. Well, I must admit, I miss the looks of the tubes and revocation of my cool-guy-club card.
  10. I was thinking that is exactly what the Xillica is designed for. I don't think I need to "Y" anything. In a simple example, just just one channel, wouldn't it just be: Left into Xillica >> do it's magic >> Two Left Outs from Xillica >> Channel 1 Amp in >> Left Woofer 1 >> Channel 2 Amp in >> Left Woofer 2 I'm thinking that gives me identical left data to both amp channels and same to both woofers
  11. So there is nothing wrong with my thinking of how I could utilize two PA50s for 4 woofers? In the end it is really 4 speakers with 4 amp channels. What could go wrong, right? I don't think I need a ton of power for my system and listening needs. Just used the dual Crowns because I had them.
  12. Claude, go back and read 2nd post form bottom of last page. I think @Westcoastdrums "westie" is replying to my line of questions. I'm wondering about two PA50s. One getting 2 left channels of info and the other 2 channels of right info. Then feeding 4 woofers independently two right and two left.
  13. That is why I was putting that for step 2 down the road if I like what I hear with the two doing low end duties. I have multiple crossover point saved. As low as 300 and as high as 800. Its sounding amazing now, but always fun to play around with something different. I agree it will be hard to beat Nelson for the mids. Also, if I have two, one for each channel I can easily do a trial run with one PA50 for mids and one powering all 15" woofers...though I doubt that would top the dual Crowns. Still listening is the real test. I recently had a guy at my house to buy some stuff. He has a mega-dollar "real" system and endless vintage Mac/Onkio gear to swap out in his "vintage" room. He was amazed at my set up. Asked how much my speakers cost. When I told him I made them the didn't know what to say. Took pictures and videos to show his friend.
  14. Maybe not the correct spot, but think with the people active on this thread, the question can be answered. My first thought reading though this was I need two and them to be monoblocks. Based on @richieb and @Westcoastdrumsback and forth that looks to be not possible. Stick with me don't stop reading.... I have a 2-way, bi-amped active system (Xillica) Each speaker has two 15" woofers and an 8" full range speaker. I've got the 8" mids covered with a First Watt J2 (at least for now). I think this is totally doable but figured I run it by the tribunal. Can I set up the Xillica 8080 such that I have two identical Left outputs and two identical Right outputs. Run the two Lefts from Xillica to PA50#1 R&L then connect one channel to Left woofer 1 and the other to Left woofer 2. Then repeat the same idea for the Right. Not running the PA50 as a monbock per se, but one amp per side. Where the side has two woofers. I'm thinking if good results then possibly a 3rd PA50 as a test to see how it stack up against the First Watt space heater. Doable? For context I'm currently running dual Crown XLS 1002 (bridged). One for each side. Meaning one bridged channel powering 2 x 15".

Only working 10-15 hours a week, sounds like it's time to buy a nice watch.

    Horology...

Timely revival of this thread. Just this morning I decided to be more human and put on a watch. All this working form home keeps me form shaving, putting on decent clothes....I'm even late brushing my teeth in the morning. Broke out the Omega Planed Ocean, and it for sure brightened my outlook. A quick turn of the wrist clockwise from the keyboard it is a slave to and glance down. 11:48. NICE. Might have to make this a habit.
  17. Jacksonbart alive and well. Saw him last week.
  18. To throw out an idea of something totally different...that is space friendly. Spend 15 minutes looking into Dutch & Dutch C8. Available in multiple finishes. Active, smallish, room correction, DSP. I think I'm heading down this road in my next space.
  19. Totally agree. While mine might not be professional they are way more than acceptable. I had no idea what I was doing. Got some auto bondo, basic supplies, read a bit, tested one piece and took my time. Time is the problem...it will cost you $1,000s because you don't do it every day. As long as you have the time you can get great results. I'm happy cutting a 2x4 but as a carpenter, zero skills. This was my first time around. Speaker grills were in as a test fit when I took the pix, obviously not there during the actual work. Lots of different options on veneer types and how to attach it. Read a bit, ask questions, make up your mind. Then just jump in with both feet. Textured black is so boring...unless a Frat house or a garage. I'd never put them in an actual living space.
  20. Mine is under a 2nd floor deck. So no direct sunlight. It is the "cheaper" shade version. In that location a standard TV with sunglasses still was a no-go. Guess it all depends on location. I tried for a week to make a sub-$1,000 indoor TV work. I can blast this with a garden hose from all directions and leave it out 365, zero problems. Good luck. Let's see pix when done.
  21. Sorry, no. But I'm on my 3rd blistering summer (house faces south) and winter (complete with snow) and my Seura 65" 4K is going strong. Zero regrets even considering the silly, high price. It is a true dream to view/use. Yes you can buy a regular TV and replace them ever few seasons, but before you do try putting your existing TV outside, in bright sun, with your sunglasses on. See if you can tolerate watching TV for any length of time. If so great. I could not. Its like having the right tool for the job, yes you can make an adjustable wrench work, but.... My wife routinely remarks on how it is the nicest "TV" we have ever had....including our 96" screen and 4K projector. https://www.seura.com/products/outdoor-tvs?keyword_session_id=vt~adwords|kt~seura+outdoor+tv|mt~e|ta~444677795008&_vsrefdom=wordstream&utm_medium=ppc&utm_term=seura+outdoor+tv&utm_campaign=Outdoor+TV&utm_source=adwords&hsa_cam=197067476&hsa_ver=3&hsa_src=g&hsa_ad=444677795008&hsa_grp=10337374196&hsa_acc=2055108595&hsa_tgt=kwd-300656282819&hsa_net=adwords&hsa_kw=seura+outdoor+tv&hsa_mt=e&gclid=Cj0KCQiAt8WOBhDbARIsANQLp97OIG2dJYQI7o1LyV5BM3Oe3LCBNpksV2tOczS5QoXArp7zHnCBafAaAsvfEALw_wcB
