  1. I think it is probably this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caliphate
  2. Duuude, you have construction and saw dust in your dinning room. You didn't get beat about the headd and neck?
  3. Paul, Put down the drill, put down the saw pick up your beer and back away from your speakers before you do them harm. The arrows in the diagram were for the sound waves, not air flowing out of them like a hose.
  4. Your pharmacy probably already has this. Almost all computer filling programs scan for drug interactions if you get all your prescriptions filled there. Also there are online services that will look up occurances of drug interactions and adverse reactions. The one we use is clinical pharmacology. we just type in the drugs in a list and it scans them for any interactions. It uses a drug interaction data base from NIH which all JCAH approved hospitals supply the data to. It then reports them to you with severity levels so you can decide if it is significant or not.
  5. i have owned forte II's since 89 when I bought mine new. They are the first klipsch I have ever owned and I will never part with them. I now have 3 pairs that I have used for HT. I now own belles with a v trac upgrade. The belles sound great but the bang for the buck and size of foot print the forte IIs are hard to beat.
  6. I guess I'll watch them. I don't know many of the acts or preformances
  7. Hey My wife and her sisters did the portland to coast walk part about 5 to 7 yrs ago. I drove support. 2 days of no sleep and driving back roads in oregon. Well I'm not an experience audiophile, not really an audiophile at all. I just like my klipsch speakers. Started with Forte II's in 89 and now have progressed to upgraded Belles and 6 forte II's, quartets and a couple of academy's. I had forte II's in a 7.1 channel 5 fortes and 2 quartets, Sounded great. Welcome
  8. I'm enjoying the 12 to 18 we got with 30 mph winds. Could hardly get through my driveway with my small 4 horse single stage Toro blower. Driveway is done but road isn't plowed yet. Can't go anywhere anyway. expecting 6 to 10 below weather tomorrow. Dang I love winter. Been through about 4 tanks of gas already in my blower. Can't even get on to the remote sight for the office either. Lucky the dish works and the internet. I don't know how the pioneers survived this, they must of had to read and talk to each other. Dang this post is my 666 the sign of the beast. That must have been the storm.
  9. I had an old one in the attic it didn't work worrth a dang. I put a new HD on the roof and it works well. I'm in a ravine and my roof top is below the hill between me and the attenna farm. My CBS is the worst also. Channel 4 Their attenna is not in the same direction as all the others.
  10. mine just said that speakers are cheaper than an alcoholic or another women go for it. It keeps me happy out of the bars and roaming for other women. (not that I would) OK it just keeps me up on level with her quilting and visiting her sisiters.
  11. I think you will see improvement by recapping. I didn't get the year of the forte II's but I think almost all of them are old enough to benifit from a recap. I replaced the crossovers in mine which I bought new in 89. I replaced them 3 years ago and notice a difference and mine had been pampered their whole life. Since you can do it yourself the cost isn't that great. Considering the work you put into refinishing them I think you would want the best sound possible. You don't have to do it right away though. Heck listen to them a while and enjoy them. Even with weak caps they are good sounding speakers.
  12. Hi that Belle looks just like the three that I got before I modified and restored them. Mine had the AB crossover also. They are a good speaker and when you buy them used they are an outstanding speaker for the price. I'd plug it in and play it awhile if you get it working to see how you like it. They usually travel in pairs what happened to it's partner? You could use it as a center between those Chorus II's or Forte II's did I see in the back round. I know that the timbre doesn't match but I used a forte II between my first two bells and it wasn't that bad. If it isn't music and just movies and such you don't notice it that much. Watching football I couldn't tell much difference. The first update that I did to my Belles was to put in Al's Universal crossovers. That really woke up the detail and the souond stage. Obviously you wouldn't be able to tell that with just one speaker. I suggest that you don't bother updating it until you get a partner. If you don't find a partner or decide that you don't like it singles can usually sold pretty easily. Heck I drove all the way to Cincinati for my single. You could also find two more and they make a very nice front wall for a HT set up which is what I'm doing. Hey by the way do you still have those RB81s I attached a picture of one of mine after I re-veneered it . It was a Walnut just like yours before I started.
  13. Was he the one that would sing "Turn out the lights the party's over" at the point at the end of the game that one of the teams couldn't come back.
  14. I had forte II's for a 7.1 using a SVS 12/2 ultra. (quartets for rear centers.) All had popbumpers K-stacks. Pushing them first with a denon 3805 and then I upgraded to sunfire TGP5 with a TGA 7400 amp. Thought the sound was great with both. The sunfire has more power so I think I hear a little more clarity and more punch. I have now upgraded to three belle's across the front with V-track upgrades and could not be happier. I have never tried tubes so I couldn't let you know. This set up is in a basement with suspended acoultic tile ceiling and carpet.
  15. Trip was good. It's hard to have a bad time setting around having someone hand you beer on a beach with good weather. Food was good. The golf course was good also.
  16. Just got back last weekend from a 1 week trip to the Riviera Maya. We stayed in an all inclusive and never left the resort. I did golf with a gentlemen that said that it was even getting bad in the good neighborhoods of Monterrey. We lucked out and had great weather between the two hurricanes there. Most of the locals said the huricaines were nothing much. Never had any problems with the drug lords though. I think they keep a pretty close watch on the resorts since they are such a big part of the economy.
  17. We are heading for a week in the Riviera Maya at the Iberostar Grand Parasio on Saturday the 16th. Looks like we might see the post huricane clean up and left over rain storms. It's located on the coast between Cancun and Playa del Carmen[:#] Looks like this is a slow mover and it may hang around just east of there for a while. I guess I'll have to bring lots of books and spend lots of time in the bar.
  18. Heck a lot of people voted for Obama without ever hearing anything but hope and change. Just a different rant but more controled.
  19. A lady I work with just gave me a bunch of old albums and 78's. Some of the 78's are only pressed on one side. I haven't had time to look at all the titles on the 78's yet but about 75-100 of them loose in a box some with sleeves some without. Some with the price tag and anti copyright sticker on the one sided ones. I haven't tried to play any. Is there a place to find out if I just have some novalty coasters or if they are of some value to anyone/someone. The albums are just run of the mill late 50's/ early sixties. I'll keep some and then let the rest go to good will.
  20. I'm putting speakers in my toe kick panels in my 65 mustang fastback. I bought some aftermark toekicks with a 5 1/4" cut out and that is raised and angled towards the center of the car. I only have clearance for about 2" depth if I top mount the speakers. I have been looking at polk audio Momo's that are a 6 1/2 inche round. The cut out will work bacause all they need are 5 ". The problem is that they need 2 3/8 depth. Is there some kind of spacer ring to fit under the basket that will raise the speaker and decrease the depth needed? Coming into the cabin an extra 1/2 inch is no big deal. Or are there some other premium audio speakers that is round coaxial 5 1/4 to 6 1/2 with less depth that would work without the spacer. I checked alpine and didn't see any. Thanks for any input.
  21. I have had a classic for about 3 years now. My PC needs to be on for any service. I have it hard wired to my router and have my squeeze server on my desk top PC up stairs. Don't hear any computer noise at all. I ripped all my CD's to I tunes in a loss less format so I could load them on my ipod also. It works great for a music server. I also subscribe to rhapsody and listen to it all the time through my squeeze box. I browse the what's playing now thread get ideas and add them to my rhapsody library. For 10 bucks a month I have access to 10's of thousands of CD's to listen to. If I like them I can buy them and down load them, but most of the time I go out and buy the CD instead. The sound quality on my ripped CD's is great. The rhapsody down loads though are mp3 I think. Sometimes there is a little connectivity problems especially when there are updates to sofeware. Once I figured it out it has been running pretty smooth.
