  1. Informative and inspiring........the most mature discussion forum I've been a part of. (sorry jacksonbart []) Great group of guys. []
  2. I agree. I run an SVS PB-12 Ultra/2 and RSW-15's. They compliment each other very well. The smooth deep bass from the SVS just oozes into the speakers. The punch from the RSW-15's as well as from four RF-7's is a match made in heaven. []
  3. Keep em coming JB.........reminds me of the "Pet Peeves" discussion where your comment was that you thought it was about Peavy speakers. [] .......You're battin' about 500. []
  4. CECAA850, Could you describe how you installed the resistor? Any soldering involved? What kind of resistor and where to buy it? A 99 cent upgrade with positive results is always worth looking into. []
  5. How far is the wall behind the 7's? Try putting some absorption on the wall behind the horns only......worked for me. I went a few steps further and heavily treated my room with Auralex and GIK acoustic products. Man am I glad I did. For the first time my 7's actually have a warm sound to them. I'm hearing my speakers now......not the room. [Y] Good Luck. []
  6. Hey mspa, I have a pair of 3.2's...........how much did you pay for the titanium diaphrams? Curious to hear from you what kind of a difference they made.
  7. A used pair of RF-5's.......or a used pair of RB-5's. Keep an eye on the Garage Sale of this forum.
  8. I'm looking for a preamp with a psycoacoustics switch. That might be helpful......or not.[]
  9. Man fender.........I didn't eat dinner yet and you got my mouth watering.[] .......sounds like you got the potential to be a chef. []
  10. For the last few years since I started this hobby, my system would sound slightly different from day to day. I mean, I'd come home from work, turn on the stereo (always the first thing I do when I walk through the door), and it would sound overwhelmed with bass.....or the opposite.......too much treble, or the opposite. Too much of this, not enough of that. Well, after a few years of upgradeitis, experimenting with placement and experimenting with room treatments.........I think I finally got it right. [] Sometimes from day to day it will sound slightly different......but nothing major. Probably just the adjustment from being outside all day. I think tweaking and going by other peoples comments/suggestions was making me crazy trying to get it "just right". Ain't gonna happen.....but I'm very happy with what I ended up with. I've realized that mediocre equipment with proper placement in a proper room (acoustically) is better than higher end gear in a room that is ignored.....as far as placement and room acoustics go. For discussion sake, does anyone else's stereo sound slightly different from day to day? Am I going nuts? Are you guys nuts? Are we all going nuts with this hobby? Gotta go, I think I need to move my speaker over an inch and a half......so it will sound better......ya know? []
  11. TLI, Whatever you decide just remember........Your room is actually part of the speaker. From experience and research......I can tell you that "better" gear and "better" speakers will not sound as good in a room that is not "acoustically proper". Actually, they can sound pretty bad. That being said, I would rather have "lower end" gear and speakers in a room that brings them to their full potential.......instead of "higher end" gear and speakers that are in a problematic listening room. Proper placement and room treatments have brought my system to it's full potential. I am now a happy camper. [] Good Luck......Let us know how you make out. PS.......KLF-30's are kick a$$ speakers, if they will save you some dough.....go for it.
  12. That's an awesome deal, congrats. [] I used RB-35's as rear surrounds with my RF-7 system and they worked very well.
  13. My subs have been on constantly for the last couple years!! The only time I turn them off is when I'm tweaking something. If I ever went on a vacation for say more than a couple of days.....I'd turn them off. That day has yet to come. Subs for listening to music........damn right. Long live subwoofers. [Y]

    for Fini

George Washington, George Bush and Bill Clinton are on the Titanic as it begins to sink........ Washington yells "Save the women!" Bush yells "Screw the women!" With his eyes lit up, Clinton yells "Do we have enough time?"
  15. I like a little "clean" distortion when listening to rock music. Listening to smooth jazz however, I want it as clean as possible. "A little bit of distortion goes a long way" sounds right to me........at least that's what my ears are telling me. []
  16. You guys got a thing for guys named Kenny? []
  17. The Cambridge Audio Azur budget integrated amps sound very good with Klipsch Reference speakers. [Y] My 2 cents. [] Good Luck.
  18. While listening to my RF-7's my mind says...."I'm sure glad I bought these Palladiums, they sound great". []
  19. God Bless you Oldbuckster. []
  20. So, would the same thing be true with subwoofers? I agree with the "psycoacoustic" thing with speakers.......but I swear some of my subs really "softened up" after about 60-100 hrs of initial use. [:^)]
  21. I've got/had eight pairs of Klipsch speakers and four Klipsch subs.......100% free of any defects or problems of any kind. [] (including RB-75's)
