My experience is the lines don't mate well. Reference and heritage are different sound. I would try to find forum members to listen to both. fyi, i'm a heritage guy.

There's no doubt H/K mates very well with Klipsch. Don't know about the feature issue though.

If they were handled that roughly during transit; could some of the internal wiring have come loose? Do the 7ii have the inside foam that could dislodge?
