  1. We currently live in central ohio, in a town my family has lived in for 187 yrs since comming from Wales. It is getting to crowded for us, so in two years when our daughter graduates from high school we are going to go "camping" for a yr or two to finally decide where we want to live. Prior to children we lived in California at Lake Tahoe for 2 yrs 76-78, then went to Bozeman Mt. for several yrs, we also lived in New Mexico for almost a year. All are nice but too crowded where we were. We love Durango and have not crossed it off our list yet, but it is growing too. I bought a 1941 chevy 1-1/2 ton flat bed three yrs ago, the new motor and trans is in, all new glass and paint etc. etc. Now it's time to start thinking about that camper we are going to build on the back. I havn't ruled out the forte's yet but i might have to drop down in size to Heresy's for space savings reasons. We really like Nebraska, pretty flat but you can still get away from the rat race there, and the people are as nice as you could ever hope to meet. It's a big country, you might have to try some different places and see what suits you're needs best. After the kids are out of college we just might be looking for something near edwinr, it sounds nice there and a little change is almost always a good thing. Good Luck on the search. Repeat after me...There is no place like home, there is no place like home, and home is where you make it.

It seems to me as though there are some really unscrupulous people accusing a pretty weird guy of doing some very nasty stuff. I would not hesitate to lock him up if i had been sitting on the jury and the evidence aginst him made me think he was guilty! Screw MJ, and OJ and for that matter any celib that thinks because they have money they deserve to live above the law.
  3. now that is just plain ole crazzzy, but you must admit he is into his hobby
  4. they have been on there for ever, wish someone would buy them and give them a good home
  5. wish i had the ability to listen throughmy forte's, the speakers are really bad on my tv joe walsh has an awsome looking guitar, some fine burl.
  6. 1 old kenwood receiver playing 1 really old jensen mt-8 hi-fidelity speaker. and 2 tablesaws, 12" miterbox-cutoff saw, 24" surface planer, jointer, several sanders, shaper, drill press, tile saws, spray equipment, big compressor........lot's of everything but space to work
  7. i want to join the know not about sacd club, i would ask this...is there no benefit to sacd in 2 channel? are there bennies for 2 channel? how does one get the most from sacd in 2 channel? according to the 12 yr old salesman at best buy the other day if you aren't running a multi-channel system you might as well buy a regular cd.
  8. sounds more like older folks to me as i believe kids would have taken the change. i drive a van full of carpentry tools, one night it got broken into and i could find nothing out of place. they broke a window so i called the cops to report it. that's when i remembered i had picked up a twelve pack full of empties some slob had tossed into the front yard of our job site. there were a couple of full ones in the bottom of the box but the beer was old milwaukee so it's no wonder they tossed it. anyway it cost me 125.00 to fix the window, and i felt lucky they didn't take any of my tools...
  9. I bought a h/k 380i working but dusty for 10 cents. good deal? it will be an improvement for my shop rig if nothing else. party on rich

A program I use is called Magix audio cleaning lab. $40 at best buy...you simply tell it that you are coming direct from your tt and it automatically compensates...works pretty slick... ---------------- Thank you i will go see if the local best buy has one. sounds like it is just what i need, that and a special adapter tohook up mic sounds like radio shak again. thanks rich

(sometimes you might have to click on special things to be able to fully control the mic input on your pc). ---------------- Thank you DrWho, all of those controls are as low as possible, at least i think so...no boost for sure and the mic is set as low as possible. i will look around again and see if imissed anything.
  12. give them a real listem max and then let us know what you think. is there a difference or not? i can assure wouldn't know even if i listened, but some other folks want to know if they are missing out.
  13. just a thought, if you are gonna paint em black...why do anything but a little sanding and paint? thought no. 2, paint is hard to un-do so make sure prior to painting. for a preview just wrap them tightly with some newspaper and spray them, if you don't like them black, tear off the paper and you're out a can of paint. my jbl's are black oak and unless you are really looking you never really notice the grain. good luck rich

  15. i am putting a few lp's onto cd for a friend. my desktop is apart for upgrades currently so i am using my laptop. the sound card is Avance AC97. There is no line in so i am using the mic in from my receiver. I can't seem to keep the levels low enough to prevent overmodulation. is it possible to record directly from the tt to the hard drive by passing the receiver? and if i can do that will it help the problem?
  16. I agree 100%, yougotta throttle these forte's up to really appreciate them.
  17. thats it i'm getting a new cord for my toaster, it has been sounding terrible lately
  18. very nice product. properly installed and maintained it should last for 100yrs. i doubt you will notice the rain factor unless you have no insulation or ceiling. i would price both and then you can really make the decision.
  19. Dayum finally a topic i know something about, woo hoo......
  20. Joss Stone Mind, Body and Soul track 3 You Had Me Awsome vocals and a deep bass track. The entire cd is very nice as well.

Loafing on here tonight, watching the qualifying at the NHRA event in Ohio online too. Got three auto transmissions for drag cars to do this weekend....two TH-400's and one Powerglide. Plus one TH-350 for the neighbor's son who lives in OK. Gonna be busy. Oh....need to mow the hayfield too after all the rain we have had.....before we can't see the kid playing in the grass since it is so tall. Maybe a trip to BB to grab a new concert DVD (unsure of which one yet....) to blow the walls out with too. ---------------- happy-b-day, i live 9 miles south of national trails raceway in ohio. if i am not at the track i can hear those nitro cars clear as a bell from home. 7000k hp, wow, you talk about spl. makes me cry just hearing those cars. awsome.
