  1. Why go through all that work when you could just get a Heresy and use that?
  2. That's about 2 hours north of me. Brutal in the winter but beautiful in the summer!
  3. The last few days the highs have been around -5, lows around -15 and wind chills of -30 to -40. Yay Minnesota! 🙄
  4. I sent this in a message to Iteachstem and thought it would be fun to see if anyone else on here enjoys being an internet sleuth - AKA I'm trying to find XYZ, or I can't figure out what this item is that I have, etc. Here's my best one: Around 20 years ago, my boss where I worked was looking for a children's book. The book was written by his wife's sister who had passed away. They were hoping to find one more copy of the book so that all of her children could have a copy. I ended up finding two of them, one hard cover and one soft cover. I didn't tell him that I had found it, I just put it on his desk at work. He came out of his office holding the book and his eyes looked like he had seen a ghost. "Where did you find this???" I told him that I had found it on a used book store's website and that I actually had another copy coming as well. It was right before Christmas so he wrapped it up and gave it to her and the family had another one to keep as well. It was pretty awesome. The family was floored that I found not one but two copies of the book!

  6. Well, there’s those, plus there’s RP-500, and there’s R-50PM but there’s no RP50.
  7. What are you using for an amp/receiver for your other speakers? Does it have bass management?
  8. Please confirm which speakers you have as there’s no such thing as an rp50.
  9. It’s been -25 to -40 wind chill the past few days here in Minnesota.
  10. Most powered sub amps like the SVS one you have will be specifically made for that sub and probably wouldn’t be the best to use for what you want to use it for. I’d just look for a cheap pro amp.
  11. It’s spelled Klipsch, but anyway… If your iMac has a headphone output try using that. Get a 3.5mm to RCA adapter.
  12. Lol. Someone else just posted about this earlier today.
  13. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/3670145023213948/ 🙄
  14. Here's a hint as to why you won't receive a response: Click on BJT's username to see when they were last on the forum.
  15. Somebody posted about it here, fairly recently I think. I know the guy who owned it passed away.
  16. Good call. That was a pretty weird post.
  17. Couple items of note: It's spelled timbre and pronounced like tamber (rhymes with camber). I had an Academy with Heresy mains and hated it. Once I added another Heresy as a center, then everything was perfect. I'd never spend $400 on an Academy when you could buy a pair of forte I or Heresy and sell one of them.
  18. Actually for an Atmos setup it’s recommended to have direct radiating speakers like your RB-75s for surrounds and not wide dispersion speakers like the RS-62. So, for current models you’ll want the RP-600M. I know the 5800-C is the most popular in-ceiling speaker that people use for Atmos.
  19. If the gaskets on the midrange drivers are original, they could also be contributing to what you’re hearing if they’re dried out. Might as well replace them while you’re at it.
  20. Sure, in fact there’s a dedicated section to tube amps farther down the page. 😉
  21. If it’s only in one speaker, swap the L/R wires and see if the problem switches speakers. The very first thing I do with any vintage Klipsch I buy is loosen and tighten all the input and output screws in the crossover. That will remove decades of oxidation and give a much better signal path to everything. Even more so to speakers like the LaScala and Klipschorn that have their crossovers exposed like they are. If the problem is still there, it could be the old oil can capacitors. Contact JEM Performance Audio or forum member DeanG for new capacitors to bring your crossovers back to spec.
  22. Two subwoofers will even out the frequency response within your room so that your peaks and nulls aren’t so large. It’s not always about playing louder. Any of the larger RP bookshelf speakers will work great as surrounds. Just remember that in a 5.1 setup the surrounds are called just that, surrounds, and they should be placed to the sides of your main listening position, slightly behind you, aimed at you. A 7.1 setup adds rear surrounds behind you.
