  1. Gil, fantastic read and awesome work sir[] You know how bad I want Jubs as my HT mains after Roy played them last year and gave us a ballpark figure on retail I can't see any other speaker in my HT mains future[] Love your imagination and a comic strip may just be in you and the Professor's future, signed Dr. Tar HeHeHe
  2. High end shop in Shreveprt La. 1979, LaScalla's driven by MAC and knew I would have a pair one day[]
  3. THX Tom, if that had been a truck full of Chimay it truly would have been tragic Grolsh, Coors of the Netherlands[+o(]
  4. They do make demagnatizing devices however Artto said it best with cleaning, tightening and re-seating your ic's and cables first. If that does not do the trick it may be some of Max's suggestions like worn thin or bad connectors in general. I also think changes should be one at a time or tracking down the culprit becomes very hard with multiple change outs at the same time.
  5. I'm with ya on this Max as I believe great strides have been made in analog playback even against the venerable Linn crowd[] There are at least 12 manufacturers putting out state of the art analog playback systems and all my current savings are going towards that final goal[] My big delimma is going to be who gets my buying dollar in the 5 to 7 grand range on a new analog rig when the time comes and I'm not even counting a cartridge in this mix yet[]
  6. Actually Karac passed in 1977 after Presence, Robert wrote the song "All of my love" as a tribute to Karac. My turn: Who was Strider and what does that reference in literature? Waht band did Robert first start after leaving home? Do you remember what band Robert and John played in before Robert pulled him into the Zep? You have got me on the town name in Wales Michael I that they recorded out in the country in a little old thatch house! What a band, what lifes and if you listen to Robert on Presence and beyond he changed his delivery a little because I think almost loosing Maureen in the '75 crash in Greece really hit him deep. If you really like the Zep you can Google as Michael mentioned and find tons of killer sites and info[]
  7. Michael, I would love this stuff on disc ifin' ya can cut one[]
  8. SS, if you would like I can keep them in my audio room in Little Rock for that week if you are really wanting to bring them. I sure understand about the risk factor but I have no problem keeping them for you that week.

  10. Holy Smokes IB! (2 of them if I can fit both of those hogs in the cab) I now know where the Slammin part comes from[]
  11. "And for that kind of money you do seem to get very good individual attention" Max buddy, for that kind of money I would expect the MAN himself to show up at your door for setup[] I'll go one up Max, if I hit the Powerball I'll buy you one because I know if anybody on this site would truly appreciate it it's you[] HOLYSMOKINMOTHERMARY
  12. Well as I've told you and Michael the Zep is my favorite band and picking one is like (to coin another members phrase) picking a favorite child! Impossible, but I will tell you although it's far from a get down crunchy song "That's the Way" was really a coming of age song for this Orphan who used that song to pick my sad & poor me butt off the feel sorry for myself binge that I had basically put myself into after my parents passed away in 1970. I moped around for several months wondering what would become of my life as I ended up in the Orphanage and I can't explain how hard that is for a young man fixing to turn 13! Believe it or not Cat Stevens helped me through a lot of hard times too and all I can say is thank God for both and music in general as a strong healing force in my life and as the Oldbuck would say it's all about the music[] Need to jump over so I can populate Thebes thread because I'm setting here on disc 2 of How the West was one right this minute!
  13. Seadog, if you bring your Thorens I'll bring my BAT VK3i , VK-P5 and I'll pack the Orbitrac. Anyone bringing a CDP the BAT has both RCA/XLR and I'll have an extra pair of TMC XLR's with me. Since I'm running the BAT VK-200 on my rig I would love to here a full tube setup like the VRD's on my pre's[] Sure wish I could get Seti to pack the Belle's[] Besides he needs the WooDog test done on them[] I'm sure I'll be packing a variety of Vinyl & CD's[] And a packed Igloo for the Fini-Meister[<)][:^)]

  15. I'm with you Oldbuck and time, Karma and his own engaging personality will be his end[] No offense Amy but you have not followed behind this young man often or you might think benefits of doubt have already been afforded him[:|] Respect is a mutual street He is well aware of his tactics with closure statements like flame on and the like. I digress to my initial plan of avoiding the little mind! Clarence, save yourself the post and just assume (as you always do) that I'm [:'(]
  16. They sure bring back that tour through the Museum last year[]
  17. Still sounds all-in-the-family to me[] Look forward to a great time and meeting some Avatars face-to-face (Note: I did not look at Alan's Avatar before posting this, great album Alan[]) Michael, I have never trusted first impressions[{] We and I think I speak for most of the Forum really appreciate all the hard work and man hours you have put into this and I'm equally sure it's going to be a terrific time for all[<)]
  18. I knew it was just going to be a matter of time before everyone figured out who (a very unhappy young man) and what he is all about (ensuring all he comes in contact with are made to feel as happy as he)[] His open and distasteful comments about his perception of many members is uncalled for and down right rude to say the least. I stopped posting on any thread I have found him in and now Oldbuck brings up something he tried that was un-ethical business wise really makes him worth ignoring in my book. His comment in the welcome back thread for Colter would have garnered him ejection had I been the webmaster! His sharp witted reply referring to Oldbuck drinking are just samplings of how juvenile he is. Now go ahead and tell me again Clarence how you stated I'm so unhappy with my status in life as it's turned out[:^)] I truly am [:$] for you Clarence of the Soothsayers[] I'm game on that HK930 if it's available[:-*]
  19. Great article Thebes[] It's not hard to really understand why he left the Pentagon by the end of that read, I'm sure deviations were just as skewed back then as they are today[] I know after the nations address last night I sure feel safer[]
  20. Say She Who Must Be Obeyed has a copy of that by Whitney that she can lone you for the drive to Hope[6]
  21. Tough one Gilbert, my first LP that I bought with my own money was "Every Picture Tells A Story" and it now has a lot of sentimental value along with it's historical value. I was 13 years old at the time and had I been older and had a much bigger musical library I would really have to think about that first purchase for my new vinyl rig as I would want a little of all types of things, the music, where my heads at and really trying to get something that will never be fogotten for better or worse of how it ends up sounding if that makes any sense at all[:^)] I guess I'm with Alan on this one if not favorite album of all time how about the single you like the most or is of most importance to you. Good luck as I know first hand you are going to be loving what you hear[]
