  1. Joe, just caught wind through another thread, deeply saddened for the loss of your best friend and partner. Hate that I have not made it by yet and now I'm regretting it more, thoughts and prayers with you and your family.
  2. I'd rather have that 730 for $150 than the NAD for 6 bones.
  3. Great table/cartridge, hopefully you can get it to that dealer for a experienced tech setup and be enjoying the revolutions. Once done if the diskwasher does not do the trick I would be suspect of the pressing.
  4. I'm with HogFan on this one, vintage on vintage that can take down most of the new fangled jobs Matter a fact Hog, let me know if you ever decide to let one of those 430's go
  5. Wonder how it compares to the Furutech ADL Cruise @ the same price http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=ADCRUISE
  6. Ditto Neil, I feel Terri has been up front from the get go and I've had no correspondence with her! The one face shot shows a nice birch Las, the pictures of the X-Overs and tags should indicate to anyone with 30 year old Heritage speakers that these are truly pristine in condition. The x-overs appear to be dust free as well as screwdriver scratch free, my guess is they went into their music room position and have worked flawlessly 100% original. With that said these truly are a rare find and are worth top dollar. I know if they were mne they would not go for less than $1600.00 and if I knew it was one of the nay-sayers on here wanting them it would be $2K
  7. I'm with you on this, to me a drug OD is not tragic since they had a choice! Crash and burn ala Buddy Holly and especially SRV since he had cleaned up and turned his personal life around only to be snuffed early is really a tragic end of an enormous tallent We recently lost a great friend and contributer out here and falling off a stool at the kitchen counter is truly tragic! RIP BOXX
  8. Bradley was a dead ringer for that role, such a sad and true story. I will say after the torching of the Jordanian pilot I have zero sympathy or tollerance for any middle Eastern Jihadist/terrorist, no God would support the barbaric likes of these groups and the world needs to work together to iradicate the planet of any and all of them.
  9. The human spirit at it's best, thanks for posting
  10. Pot lucking at our friends (he has a new 73" LCD ), I'm whipping up Taco seasoned baked chicken with all the fixin's for Chix Chalupa's. Mexican Rice & Corn. Man I could see the post that would have followed this by our late friend Mr. Boxx here RIP Buddy!
  11. You say he's still a rescue cat, just from John now I like your handle John and being an old Austinite myself I thought you might like a nice Avatar picture An artist friend of mine did this rendition of his Greatist Hits album cover
  12. True dat, more like the league of Extrodinary People
  13. Stereo, three leather chairs. A rocker that sits just behind and between the recliners if I'm alone and then when company comes I rotate so they can have the center seat for their favorites.
  14. Order of preference: Sgt. Rubber Abby White You did say favorite (singular) so "I'm a Pepper"
  15. OK who told Carl where we were???? Not the first time I've sat in a room by myself wondering where the hell everyone was. Sadly, it won't be the last. Just remember Carl, wherever your at "There you are" and everything will be OK I'm with on the prosit Boxx
  16. Just awesome Michael, this could not have been put more eloquently and speaks volumes of the man you are. I am so pleased you got to attend Kevin's funeral and meet his family, once again this community is above and beyond reproach. I have to be honest with you as well, you have officially lost your SNARKY touch To Michele, Genevieve and Alexander, by the number of threads and post counts you have seen by now you know we all miss him and grieve with you. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you.
  17. OK Stew I hope this works now "Well my 11 year old has his first Basketball game of this season at 6 tonight but when I get home I'll head on up to the cave with a couple Winters Welcomes and a triple chocolate stout while listening to some of Boxx's favorites. Cheers to all"
  18. OMG, OMG, OMG! Alex, your father was absolutely a shining light. So kind, so funny and so real and one of the first posters I always look for when I got on the forum. I could not begin to say how much I will miss him out here and hope that both you and Genevieve stay with us here. He was truly one of a kind and someone we all called friend. I have been offline for several months and this news literally breaks my heart, he did love this forum and his hobby but I also know he loved his family 10 times as much and he was so proud of you and your sister. I was so looking forward to meeting all of you one day on one of my trips back home to Texas, he and I had joked on more than one occasion who would get to see who's setup's first. My deepest condolences go out to your entire family, I am conforted to know he went quickly and did not suffer too much. Even with his passing I'll never be able to think of him and not have an overwhelming smile cross my face, always know that he touched so many just being who he was. In the thesaurus of my mind he will always be the picture by the word friend.
  19. Well my 11 year old has his first Basketball game of this season at 6 tonight but when I get home I'll head on up to the cave with a couple Winters Welcomes and a triple chocolate stout while listening to some of Boxx's favorites. Cheers to all
  20. I think there is another entire half to this BS/AZ game. Although I think Boise has a lot more experience in bowl games AZ seems to be able to turn it up pretty quick.
  21. Those are beautiful Tigerman, even the replicas are sweet looking. Wonder if Viktor over at BAT would give them a thumbs up
  22. Well I have always loved this shot, maybe not your classic audio tube glow but how wicked is this
  23. Beautiful amp Justin, the Sophia Mesh plates are stunning. Really like the tranny housings as well.
  24. I'm with you Marty, I'm still buying (also collecting) my music on vinyl, CD/DVD that I can burn when and how I want and if that burn fails or is lost/stolen I make another copy. The worst part of piracy is those that give us the most loose the most from it I have lot's of digital devices but I don't buy downloads I buy physical media and make my own. I don't care much for Taylor Swift but I appreciate her stance
  25. Dang Schu, as much as I love your P-5 I can't let my babies go besides they are what they P-5 would be for GLWS
