  1. Thank you. I refurbished the A7 cablnets. They were in rough condition. Built the top boards for mounting the 511B horns.
  2. Thank you. I put a lot of work into them. You're right about the 902 drivers. New GPA 416-8C woofers too. I'm some what nervous about the no reserve auction. They are some real nice speakers and who ever gets them will be very lucky indeed! I'm selling them to move on to my next speaker project. It's a fun hobby.
  3. You're a top notch wood worker. Those tops are beautiful! Wow...
  4. That's a shame. I really enjoyed going to concerts when I was a teenager. My kids can not experience that, because of the high cost. It is not worth paying that much to sit so far away from the stage.
  5. Here are the Altec A7 speakers I put together. I decided to have someone sell them for me on eBay. It was a fun project. I think they came out nice. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=180103943052

  7. seti, WOW THAT IS AMAZING! Is that an industrial Khorn revamped for home use ? No. Those are some false cornes I built. I figured the top and bottom boards would help to. They do! Here's the link to all that I did to my Klipschorns. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/697931/ShowPost.aspx
  8. rudy81, you feel like trying another experiment? on your false corners, put a top on them and have that it seal up to the bottom of the hf...... have a blessed night, roy delgado Do you mean like this?
  9. You did real good! What an awesome deal you got! A beautiful 299C! Even rebuilt. I would really like to own one. Enjoy...
  10. I've tried this before and it works GREAT!
  11. Catbo, One year warranty. speakerfritz, I'm going to try to repair it myself at some point just for the experience. I've never reconed and this will allow me to give it a try. For now, I bought a replacement from Bob.
  12. I bought two new K-33 woofers from Klipsch a little over a year ago and put them in my Klipschorns as part as their complete restoration that I did to them. Today I discovered one of the K-33 woofers has its voice coil slapping against the voice coil gap. It's making a metal slapping sound. I'm extremely disappointed that this woofer is having this problem so soon! It has never been abused at all. I turn my Klipschorns up some, but never crank them. I figure its voice coil may not have been placed in dead center when assembled and with just a little stretching has become more off centered enough to cause this problem. I phoned Klipsch and they told me it's out of warranty, so no luck getting it replaced by them. Looks like I'm out some money. I guess it's headed for the trash can. Has anyone else had these woofers do this to them so soon?
  13. Beautiful set of Klipschorns and a nice room for them to be in. Enjoy....
  14. I have a Marantz 2275 hooked up to my Klipschorns. Sounds incredible! A 2235B to my son's ARs. Sounds awesome! Love the Marantz receivers!
  15. Looking beautiful. You do real nice work. Like everyone else has stated, wonderful looking trim work. I really like your top and bottom boards. Your cabinets have more of a furniture look than stock. Real nice. Keep us posted.
  16. Thanks Bob. That was interesting to see. Nice looking tweeters. Great job Michael! Lining them up by eye, way cool...
  17. Fun link. Thanks. I'd like to have two of those drivers!
  18. Viewing your photo of the 60Th Anniversary Klipschorn. I really like how thin the speaker grill cloth is. Acoustically transparent!
  19. It was when I was seventeen many moons ago. It was Klipschorns and an awesome audio salesman. I never knew one set of speakers could reproduce live music dynamics. It was like the band was in the room. That first Klipsch exposure started something in me that will never end.
  20. I just recently emailed Bill at Great Plains Audio on removing the loading cap of the 902-8T because I just bought some myself. He replied that it does not make a difference in sound. I myself can see how it would, but if Bill says it does not. He should know more than most! On Bill's say, for now I'm leaving mine in.
