  1. When @dtel isn't snoring I reach over and touch him to make sure he's still breathing. 11/11/17 will be our 39th wedding anniversary. I can not imagine my life without this man. He challenges me every day to be a better person than I was the day before. Alcoholism is a battle. I will admit that I have to be cautious. I truly believe it's there is a certain genetic component. I enjoy a couple of drinks, but it is very easy to cross the line. @DizRotus this is what keeps me coming back here....the love, support and commaderie that always prevails. You can not rescue someone that doesn't want to be rescued. I've lost two siblings to drug overdoses. They didn't want help.
  2. As I type this dtel is sleeping. I'm up and reading this thread because his snoring is keeping me awake. I understand that our Creator has his own ideas about how we should be spending our time. That being said, my emotions are running wild as I post this. @T2K, I had no idea. @Full Range prayers always, @Marvel we were all with you during those dark times, @BigStewMan, you are always in my thoughts. @jorjen, @dwilawyer and I were with you then and we certainly are with you now. I may have left someone out in this thread. It's 4:25 am here so please forgive me if I didn't mention you. Just know my thoughts and prayers are always with each of you. I sincerely appreciate you sharing your stories and calling upon us here for support. My inbox is always open and I am always more than willing to share my cell phone number. God speed. Christy
  3. Oh. As in "prototype"???
  4. I always thought "theory" was relative to building and listening. I learn something new every day.
  5. It is my understanding that Klipsch is using a lacquer specifically for these types of wood. Actually the Rosewood Hereseys sold. We still have the walnut Hereseys and the Cornwall IIIs. Watch for news about these remaining pairs real soon!
  6. The OP requested that it be unpinned.
  7. I think dtel, and a few others posted reviews in the other thread.
  8. Factor in engineering costs, testing, prototypes (yes many of us have heard them), built in the USA, handcrafted in Hope, AR. I guess it begs the questions, "Have you attended a Pilgrimage in Hope, AR? Have you met the factory workers and experienced the pride and time that goes into every speaker they produce? Do you appreciate the quality? Do you realize it costs more to produce products made in the USA? Have you considered the time engineers and others spend on products? Have you considered the lifespan of the product?" Many more questions you need to consider when factoring in opinions on cost. There are a few employees that post here, but do not "monitor". They simply don't have the time. Most employees of Klipsch wear "multiple hats" and perform duties that are not associated with their "title". Dig a little deeper and you may find the answers to your questions. Christy
  9. Knock it off! That's enough. Respect the OP enough to cut this BS out.
  10. I believe clarification is needed here. Prior to 2013 or 2014 this annual event was referred to as "Pilgrimage" and was totally and completely organized by KGI and their employees. Due to lack of interest, whether KGI or forum member attendance there was a "lull" for a period of years of the "Pilgrimage" A group of folks got together, Dave included and went to Hope....thereafter the event was resurrected as Employee Appreciation Luncheon. Shortly thereafter, funding was sought from KGI with the understanding that the annual Pilgrimage would continue to include the Employee Appreciation Luncheon and various events. It was further understood and agreed between KGI and the forum member organizers that this annual event would be "forum led", or whatever term you choose to call it. Since, this time out of respect for both KGI and forum members who so generously donate their time and money, it has been referred to as Employee Appreciation Luncheon/Pilgrimage. Everyone involved is fully aware of where the funding comes from. Since the first Employee Appreciation Luncheon, KGI has continued to financially support this event and lend their expertise and various prizes to help us grow the event. I'm not sure where the confusion is coming from. but I assure you that the last two years would not have been as successful as they have been with KGI's financial support and the support of forum members. I'm hoping this did not add to the confusion here.
  11. He had invited dtel and I to come stay also...sure wish I could have met him before he left us.
  12. I miss him too! The Stones and reggae!
  13. Old Buckster had them play "Wild Horses". Every time I hear that song I'm reminded of him.
  14. @BigStewMan you will figure it out. I think it's impossible to be happy ALL of the time. It does seem as though you are getting there. Just do something you love. That's one of the keys to happiness. I'm sure the "stuff" you gave away was a blessing to those who received it. You made others happy...another key to happiness. Nothing wrong with being irresponsible sometimes.
  15. So good to hear from you @BigStewMan!!! You seem happier already.
  16. I can not thank everyone enough for their support of the Klipsch Heritage Museum Association. 18. Quite a few of you have asked what you can do to help and many of you have already stepped up in various capacities. Please know your help is genuinely appreciated. We are trying to put together a work week for the Museum. The dates for the work week will be August 9th-15th, 2017. We would like to make this a fun work event with music, food, friends and fun. There are numerous and immediate tasks we need to address/complete, including but not limited to the following: We need volunteers to assist in manning the Museum booth at the Watermelon Festival August 10th-12th We need volunteers to assist in basement cleaning/demolition We need volunteers to assist in building shelves in the basement to accommodate PWK's professional library. We need your help, whether it's for a day, a few days or the entire time! If we can accomplish most of these tasks we will be well on our way in achieving most of our short term goals.
