  1. Can we see where the connection from the amp is in these, please?
  2. Hmmmmmm. I'm quite tempted to try that coffin for $375. How sweet is it?
  3. I'm curious.......how does one provide power and blending (crossover/volume/phase, etc.) for these? I have a KW-1000-THX amp, would either of these work with that amp? Thanks.
  4. I paid $3500 for my 2009's that are FLAWLESS. And I drove 4 hours each way to get them. Why? Because I wanted them and I think that was a fair price for them. And I don't regret buying them. Good luck!
  5. Neil (DizRotus) has one and he brought it over for a listen. I was very impressed with it. The sound was very impressive and what I thought was cool is you can use SD (can't remember if they were mini or micro) cards with it. The only thing that would make it better is if it had a remote control. I know it's marketed as a portable player but I wouldn't use it that way. It would probably just sit in my stack somewhere and without a remote would be mostly pointless. Ask Neil.
  6. HDMI sucks. I don't even use it because I make my own interconnects and I have found many faulty HDMI cables and, like you state the connection is not very secure. I've never had my RCA connection come loose.
  7. I was forced to go from RF7's to Klipschorns and to be quite honest, they are so close in performance I wouldn't be able to pick which one I prefered. I'm using an RC7 for my center and think that it matches pretty well with the Klipschorns.
  8. Mine just have recesses in the top of the lower cabinet and rubber nubs that sit in the recesses. No wing nuts or brackets.
  9. Hey Metropolis, I don't know if I would be described as an "audiophile" but my system is primarily for music with movies being secondary and I LOVE BIG, HEAVY (but it has to be nice and clean and accurate) BASS. In fact, even with four subs I still find it slightly lacking in my current room when compared to just one RSW 15 in my previous room/house.
  10. The guy I bought my Klipschorns from had pieces of glass cut to the shape of the top and gave those to me, so little risk of top damage. I'll bet with the right type of glass those would help with the sun fading problem, if you did it from the start.
  11. save-on-audio is not an authorized Klipsch dealer.
  12. That's what I figured. I'd love to figure out something cool to do with that stuff since it's basically trash now but I refuse to put it in the garbage.
  13. I'm intrigued by this thread.....I have two water-logged RSW-15's that I'd like to use for parts and make a DIY sub (or two). Just out of curiosity: I also have two RF-7's that could be used as donors, could the drivers from those be used in a small sub?
  14. Thought your username was a reference to a character on Lost. That's all! Nope, just my name, Brett Henry. My wife watched that show but I never got into it.
  15. Sounds good. i need to get an earful of your system too! We should both play hooky from work one day.
  16. I like the "openness" that listening in my undies provides. Yes Neil, we have to make that happen! I'll be around today.
  17. Pink Floyd pulse on some Klipschorns and four THX Ultra2 subs. In my underware. Better than any concert I've ever been to.

Is that at the Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills, Michigan?
  19. From the movie "Stuck On You": ....."What's a four letter word for 'sna+€h'?" ....."Grab"
  20. I was fortunate enough to find a pair of used 2009 black Klipschorn's late last year in absolutely mint condition. The black ones are hard to find but, in my opinion the best looking of all the colors. Also, in my opinion one of the best sounding speakers you can buy for ANY amount of money. Congratulations on your purchase! I'm sure you will never regret it. Enjoy! FYI: I had to play with the High Pass Filter on my pre-amp to cut the db level due to the "harshness" that these are capable of. I have heard complaints about their "brightness" and I can relate, but it's very easily controlled if you know how to do it. These are wonderful speakers that can play SO loud and clean. There's nothing else like them.
  21. I have never used this specific model but I install RAB lighting and motion sensors all the time and they are top notch. http://www.prolighting.com/rabst11st12v.html?gclid=CKTe7M-IycMCFSdn7Aod7z4ApQ Good luck.
