  1. I'll 2nd Images and Words, but Train Of Thought is my fav, due to the heavier sound and more rockin' songs, at least to my ears. That's the disc that introduced me to the band, and I also have the Metroplis 2000 & Budokan DVD'S, which show lots of geetar shredding, which I also enjoy. I'm a bargain bin/rummager/piker, so I find lots of tuneage to add to my obsession. NP - MASTODON - Leviathon
  2. The Oct 91 issue of AUDIO has the HK integrated amp that listed for $700. 90 watts per channel. The Denon 1st appears in the Oct 92 issue, retailing for $450. 75 watts per channel. Denon has slightly better THD, and did have a remote control included, but I guess it depends on what the asking prices are and looks/condition. Certainly either would work fine - good luck NP - Cradle Of Filth - Nymphetamine
  3. Question 1: Yes Question 2: There should not be any popping noise thru the speaker. My guess is that it is a source problem, as I've had popping/scratching noise myself, and it's usually the controls or interference of some sort. Good Luck NP - Napalm Death - The Code Is Red....Long Live The Code
  4. I'd be very interested in the older Altec & JBL's and recommend you take a listen asap. The drivers alone are probably worth more than $90. $90 = 40 gallons of gas or a nice meal out - you can always earn $90, but you may never get the chance to the speakers again! NP - Glengary-Glenross DVD
  5. 2 Kg4's in one box is asking for trouble. Audiokarma.org has a section entitled "packing and shipping, with the top post being a basic "how to", which explains do's and don'ts, and I don't think you want a speaker fubar at the end of the line. Assume that this box will be bumped, dropped, rolled, and everything in between . NP - Kansas - Audiovisions LP
  6. I usually start to get them in autumn, and they are sneaky creatures. I once had one cornered under a movable cabinet, and it was gone - until I looked up into the frame, where it was hiding. They can cling to anything upside down, so I start poking around with a fly swatter, trying to force them out. They can truly drive you nuts. Good luck.
  7. I was at American today, too, looking at Klipsch. I am not in the market now, but when they had their sale last year, RF-7's were about 1500/pr w/discount. They had RF-7's, RB models, and a couple others I was not familiar with. Didn't see much for subwoofers as they had the lights way down. I did check out their scratch and dent used stuff, and saw 3 RS-7's for $300 each and 2 RC-7's for $500 each. good luck with your wallet ! NP - Fountains of Wayne (1996)
  8. I don't have a tube amp, but I have backup for every part of my system. Extra TT, cassette, tuner, receiver (s), speakers. If I didn't have them, I have separate cassette and CD players, ipod, headphones, the wife's home theater, etc. There's no reason to go without a backup system of some sort with all the cheap new and vintage equipment available. I just want music, and ANY way is better than NO way! NP - Aerosmith Rocks
  9. I've got a 17 year old Hafler 110 preamp with the same problem, and the static noise was horrendous coming out of the Forte's. The volume pot is the culprit on this one, as I deoxitized the whole shebang last year, but I had it all hooked back up and found that it was still noisy. I may take Gil's advice and drill a tiny hole in it if I can't penetrate the sealed control. NP - GOVT MULE - Live at Roseland Ballroom, new years eve, 1995
  10. A friend of mine has his Belle's in a rather large room, say 25 feet wide, and 20 feet deep, which is open to the dining and kitchen area, and a stairway to the basement. I have heard similar music and a DVD live concert on them, and was not overly impressed with the overall musicality of them. They sit about 2 feet out from the back wall, and are 10 feet apart, not close to any corners. My guess is the room and placement has an effect on the sound of his. My Forte's sounded much better to me, too.
  11. My wife has 3 orders in under 3 different codes; you can get an updated list of various codes at HOMETHEATERFORUM.com, under the COUPONS & BARGAINS section. good luck NP - COC - America's Volume Dealer
  12. We picked it up a year or so ago - might have been in one of those bargain bins. But, if you're going to buy it, DeepDiscountDVD has it for $5.99 less 20% til the 27th. NP - Get Behind Me Satan
  13. Those are some nice pics. Up until a few years ago, we used to goto Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL for 2 days. Altho the wait on some rides was an hour or more, after 7 pm the crowd lessened and some of the rides were no wait at all! They had the American Eagle wooden roller coaster that was an antique - and it really beat the heck out of you. I am not sure when/if we'll ever get back there, but that sure brought back memories of a great time. NP - Michael Lee Firkins - Decomposition
  14. My 1st MFSL LP was CotC, about 10 years ago. Found at a garage sale for $1. Had it a few years, then finally sold it on the 'bay for 20 something. Then 2 years ago, I found MFSL & Columbia half speed masters, and a couple of Super Disks, all for $12. Amanda McBroom - West Of Oz (Sheffield Labs) Kenny Rogers - Greatest Hits MFSL Air Supply - The One That You Love MFSL Little River Band - First Under The Wire MFSL Emmylou Harris - Quarter Moon In a Ten Cent Town MFSL Jim Croce - You Don't Mess Around With Jim MFSL Natalie Cole - Thankful MFSL Neil Diamond - His 12 Greatest Hits (Direct Disc Labs) Judy Collins - Judith (Direct Disc Labs) Willie Nelson - Stardust (Columbia HSM) Journey - Dream, After Dream ( CHSM) factory sealed Paul Simon - Greatest Hits, Etc. (CHSM) Simon & Garfunkel - Bridge Over Troubled Water (CHSM) Neil Diamond - You Don't Bring Me Flowers (CHSM) Neil Diamond - On The Way To The Sky (CHSM) My current plan is to get rid of these later this fall, along with a few large classical box sets I found cheap. (That was also my plan for last year!) NP - HELLOWEEN - Better Than Raw
  15. I don't have one in particular, but in the last 2 weeks, have found cutout cd's at a local record store, along with a garage sale stash - most of which was new to me, but for $1.00 each, I took the chance at 'em: 1) UK SUBS/NATIONAL RAZOR - Gruesome Twosome Vol. 1 (Punk) 2) CREMATORY - Illusions 3) DORO/WARLOCK - Rare Diamonds 4) MORGOTH - Feel Sorry For The Fanatic 5) BLIND GUARDIAN - Tokyo Tales (Live) 6, 7 & 8) HAMMERFALL - Renegade, Legacy Of Kings, & Glory To The Brave 9, 10) HELLOWEEN - Better Than Raw & The Best, Rest, Rare 11, 12 ) GRAVE DIGGER - Tunes Of War & Knights Of The Cross (If you like ACCEPT or UDO, this is up your alley) 13) TOILET BOYS 14) THROES OF DAWN - Binding of The Spirit 15) BENEDICTION - Grind Bastard 16) DECEMBER WOLVES - Blasterpiece Theater 17) RAKOTH - Tiny Deaths ( A russian progressive, flutey metal hybrid?) 18, 19) BAD RELIGION - No Control & The New America 20) METALLICA - Creeping Death incl the 12" EP Jump In The Fire 21) WARRIOR - The Wars Of Gods & Men featuring ex-Krodus lead screacher 22) MANOWAR (Double Live) - Hell On Stage Live - a very impressive live album similar to Iced Earth, w/ an aggressively live vocalist. 23) DIE KRUPPS II - The Final Option It's mainly speed metal, heavy metal, rock, pretty much my forte.
  16. If it was my sale, I'd cancel the original offering and sell to the local crowd first, hence, PICKUP only, otherwise, you got guys all over the US jumping on things prior to LOCAL dudes getting a chance. A lot of us don't LIVE on the Klipsch forum, like you guys that have 40 pair of everything already anywho. Yeah, I'm about 15 miles from Royster myself, and might have taken the $550 plunge if I was camped out on the forum. Somebody will get a nice pair of Corn's in the end, tho, so good luck to whoever.
  17. The 84-89 example is 89281234, which is the 28th week of 1989, and the 90-97 example is 135791234, which is the 135th day of 1997. I don't see a problem with the codes or the examples given as they are shown - there is no week 79 listed. NP - Bad Religion - No Control (via a pair of AR's SRT 380's)
  18. DEEP PURPLE'S 30th anniversary remaster of "Burn", just released by Warner on May 3rd. Pummeled thru KG4's.
  19. Why are people so quick to judge a person's action - he did say it was his first post, and he was selling something. Big deal. Why would someone feel welcome after getting a lecture right off the bat? There's a right way and a wrong way of explaining things, and I do welcome oconnor aboard, heck, the guy is a longtime Klipsch owner - nothing wrong with that! Thank you - now back to your regularly scheduled program.
  20. DIRTY TRICKS - Debut (1975) - Vinyl - UK - Polydor (This stereo record can be played on mono reproducers provided either a compatible or stereo cartridge wired for mono is fitted.) I am one of about 9 people that ever heard of this band, a british fuzzy guitared Hendrix/Trower mix of bluesy hard rock. It's been out on CD since last year, but i am still waiting for this last one of three to show up in my mail. Check out "Night Man" and "Hit & Run".
  21. The TEA PARTY - Interzone Mantras (2001)

    Any AC/DC Fans?

I picked this one up the week it was released for $10 @ BB, and if you are a video nut, you'll get a kick out of this. I am a Bon fan also, and would rather see "Let There Be Rock - The Movie - Live In Paris" reissued on dvd - with real "live" Bon Scott in all his glory. The 2 disc audio CD of this concert is in the AC/DC Bonfire boxset. I must admit to absolutely loving the 1st video, Baby Please Don't Go, which has Bon dressed up as a school girl (and not a bad looking one either). Freakin' hilarious. I guess if you get sick of the videos, you can still just listen to the 40 songs in any case, especially if found on sale. NP - Legs Diamond - The Wish
  23. If this is a matched set of oak speakers, and if it is 2 Belles, 2 Cornwalls, and 1 Heresy, $2500 would be a good price. ($1500 Belles, $750 Corns, $250 Heresy). However, Cornwalls were discontinued in 1990, so they are at least 15 years old. Can you get the serial numbers or any tag info from the speakers? NP - UDO - Thunderball
  24. I'm an ex-Arizonian, having lived there in 80-84 when I was single. Lived in Glendale @ 59th & Grand, then later moved to 19th & Northern Avenue til I moved back to WI. I keep in touch with AZ via AZCENTRAL.COM. I can't believe how much that area has EXPANDED, with all those 12 lane roads and highways. In case you don't already know it, you can search the classifieds on the internet and watch for all those super Klipsch deals out there! We've got plans to go out there in 2006 for a visit. NP - Coverdale*Page
  25. It does sound like a computer interface problem, maybe a mismatched impedence, etc. I'm not going to be much help any more, hope you get it figured out (cheaply). I've got the IMAC in one corner and the stereo in the other - no touching! NP - DICTATORS - D.F.F.D.
