  1. As PWK would say, "I disagree with the author". That author would be me! I've spent the last hour and a half searching our pricelists and network schematics. The "final word" on networks will require may hours if not days of sifting. What I can say is the following, primarily based on pricelists: 570900 K-500-5000 without a suffix last appears 571101 W2 suffix appears. I believe this is in association with the first use of an autotransformer. 580519 W5 suffix appears. K-77 introduction. 630501 W6 appears. This may account for the change from an SAHF to a K-55. 640601 "1" appears. This likely coincides with the K-400 introduction. 670401 "A" appears. 711001 "AA" appears. Attached are a few clues.
  2. We have evidence that PWK and Belle attended a Bell Labs roadshow demonstration in Houston in the mid-30's. Dr. Perrine of BTL gave the demo. It was after this demo that Belle told Paul he could have the back room for a workshop. The Symposium on Auditory Perspective was referred to by PWK as the "Old Testament" of audio.
  3. Large question! Attached is a "start". Nothing on Pro at this time. Model Chart.xlsx
  4. This will take a little digging. Answers later this week.
  5. LSI "whole": 2662 shipped between 4/11/77 and 12/30/83 LSI-LF: 2184 shipped between 3/15/79 and 12/31/83 LSI-HF: 2202 shipped between 4/12/79 and 12/30/83 Not terribly rare. I have access to no other records.
  6. Polizzio is correct! There will be more elaboration on the Klipsch Museum's website (www.klipschmuseum.org) as well as Facebook in the coming months.
  7. Also see https://www.klipsch.com/heresy-history
  8. We have so far discovered two of these events. One can be seen at https://www.klipsch.com/live-vs-recorded
  9. On the left are Fisher pieces, a radio at top and likely some amps below. On the right is Berlant equipment. He favored the Concertone series. The picture was taken in Feb. 1955. PWK tried everything. In amps it seemed to be Brook, Fisher, RadioCraftsman, Marantz, and McIntosh at different times.
  10. Early on Paul would incorporate a buyer's drivers into a Klipschorn. By 1963 I seriously doubt it . Unfortunately the logbook for this timeframe has been AWOL for many years. Vitavox was the first licensee, and those drivers are definitely high-priced! Congratulations!
  11. These were shipped to Likis Audio 4/19/79.
  12. First make sure all the drivers work by lending a localized ear to each component. It's not likely the seller will want to take off the back for a peek at the components, but that would be optimum. Take a couple of pics if allowed. I can look up the serial numbers in the morning.

After "running down" three Klipsch long-timers, it is our collective opinion that this happened after they left Klipsch & Associates.
  14. Spoke to Gary. He recalls the event clearly, but is unaware of any pics, dammit. He believes it consisted of two MCM stacks using the MTM tweeter (not K-77's) designed by Don Keele. Mr. Keele was at the event.
  15. I actually see no use of the K-55-M in Cornwalls. During 1981-1983 they seem to have gone thru K-55-V, K-51-G, K-55-G, and then to K-52-H. The K-55-M was introduced to the K-horn on Oct. 19, 1983.
  16. I believe "marketing ploy" would be accurate!
  17. The EV SP12B was standard in the Heresy for several years. I've never curved one.
  18. Well, this was slightly ahead of my time (late 1978), and I'm really surprised I'm only hearing about it now. I am unaware of any photographic documentation, but will check with Gary Gillum over the weekend.
  19. 174 (walnut) and 175 (Mahogany) seem to have gone thru the manufacturing process "together". 174 did not ship until 2/27/1950, and went to Kentucky. My guess is that some of the parts got mixed up during the course of production.
  20. There is a company in Chicago, Duracrest Fabrics, that is a Klipsch grill vendor. They DO NOT manufacture out-of-production grills, but will consider restoring older grills if the frames are in good shape. The best contact is to call Ralph Fortino at 847-350-0030. You will probably have to leave a message. I just spoke with Ralph, and his company is currently swamped with regular production (go Klipsch Heritage!). At this time you may expect a possible response time of two months.
  21. 175 was shipped to Joe Minor at Berkeley Custom Electronics on 1/4/1950. However, it was previously utilized in a PWK speech at the Dallas IRE meeting December 8-11, 1949. It is mahogany and a style 7.
  22. Pretty sure this was made by Robert Wyatt, known to most as "Bois D'arc". He is responsible for the Klipsch Garden adjacent to the old RR station in Hope.
