  1. Its hard to see how thick the trim is in the pictures but maybe some thin plywood (1/8 - 1/4") with some black stain would match nice or matching finish of that on the cabinet. Cherry may be a little bold on the motorboard but its your project.
  2. Thanks. Looking forward to finishing #2 and listening to some music. Mark Just finished a #2 myself. Your project looks like fun. Are you going to wet sand the finish after it dries ?
  3. jweber has one on the way already, hope it fits. Thank you for the offer. Sent you a tracking # Expected Delivery Day: Saturday, September 26, 2015 Got your PM, thank you.
  4. jweber has one on the way already, hope it fits. Thank you for the offer.
  5. So what you're saying is that Parts Express is guilty of misleading customers & false advertising ? There were some closeout horns on there recently too. I would like to know what is going on so not to get hosed sometime thinking I'm getting something particular and receiving something completely different.
  6. I should be able to come by, may be later than 3:00 but its looking good so far. Pizza sounds great too. If you lost my information and need it for some reason just shoot me a PM.
  7. Post edited for length & content, may be unsuitable for some viewers.
  8. Mailing tube may work but i prefer to use PVC pipe. What you do is heat the ends with a heat gun and slowly form your flare by resting your pipe on a larger cup/bowl (that won't melt on you) and letting your cup/bowl form your flare shape for you and after using a flat washer from the back on your widest part of the flare with the end on a flat surface to flatten out the end for easy mounting. This may be avoided by buying some flared ports at the store but if you like a little challenge and want to learn something new give it a try, works great and PVC pipe is cheap in case you mess you're first one or even two up. Edit. Forgot to add. Do not include the flared portion to your port length.
  9. You could add some length to your ports and tune it lower but test it with increasing of short increments so not to remove the tight snappy bass the Chorus is known for. More importantly you may want use flared ports to reduce the chance of chuffing under heavy volume. Line the cabinet with acoustic sound dampener if you want to reduce resonances.
  10. If this is one of the closeout drivers offered from Parts Express a while back T/S parameters can be found here. Link
  11. Another set of KG-4's would be perfect for rear surrounds if at all possible or KG-2's would be another good choice if a smaller bookshelf model is OK with you. If you need a decent cheaper subwoofer the Dayton sub 1200 model is well worth the money. Link
  12. If its a DVC driver probably the DVC385-88 The Utlimax would work also but the surround would cause clearance issues with the motorboard if not properly checked beforehand.
  13. Why bother buying products built here in the USA, (thats if you can still find any) when you can buy something made in Communist China for a fraction of the price. Quality stuff is still expensive and even more so if its made here but most just take the cheaper way out unfortunately.
  14. That is what i was going to get if nobody has an extra, thank's for the link.
  15. If you have just the cap let me know what you want for it.
  16. I'm a maybe. If time allows i would love to swing by.
  17. Because they only make 55 and 75 inch tracks. Two 55 inch tracks are too short. It only gives you 7" of overhang on each end and that's not enough. Totaly agree, overhang is a must! nothing like doing a 7' cut and finishing freehand, that would be BS. We have ALL used devices like this sometime in our past, A 2X4 and a couple clamps, there is our straight edge. Some guy who thought of this is sitting in Cabo saying FK the world, i did good. Festool W/Vac, buy it once, do it right. CeC is the most EXPERIENCED user of Festool iv seen to date. As 2x4's are never really that straight its best to use the clean factory edge of a full sheet of plywood for a make shift straight edge. Particleboard would work too but it gets chipped much easier and will not last nearly as long.
  18. Price is fair, about what i may charge with the veneer finish work included. Don't like that the veneer on the access door does not line up or where the terminal cup is mounted (more chance of a leak there) but there has been much time involved with the building process and finish than one might think. I wonder what driver was used ?
  19. Mellotone fabrics from Wendell has a great selection. Check out your local fabric stores too, sometimes you find something you like even more without having to pay shipping charges or waiting for your fabric to arrive only to find out its not right for your project.
