  1. The 201s are serving you well . . . and you even have turned them upside and reoriented the logos. There is a lot of work invested there . . . L/R matched too! Keep 'me in place. The 250s seve a practical function for you . . . "On the road again!" The 262s? White, Michael? White? :-). Swap out the new drivers you installed for some good serviceable one laying around your shop and sell the 262s. Or physically swap the 262s in the shop for the 201s. Make the 201s the new road show speakers. And sell him the 250s since you do not love the sound of them anyway.
  2. Price drop to $275 plus shipping, unless picked up locally in metro ATL
  3. Well, you definitely live in the land of deceit, in most of your posts in this thread. You started this thread in deceit . . . just not cool. Totally unnecessary, and lacks community integrity--antithetical to the community camaraderie this forum is built upon.In your CL ads, you write: "Wish I did not have to give them up but I am moving and don't have room for these at the new house. $1000. I am located in NW Arkansas but drive to Tulsa quite often so bringing these to any interested parties would not be a problem." More deceit in your CL ad; again, simply not necessary. We have your number, sb001, both figuratively and literally. I will take the liberty of quoting your current public domain CL ads again, their ownership confirmed by you in this thread already: "Please call or text 479-four zero nine . . . " Here is your reading tip of the day: http://www.wordreference.com/definition/deceit GLWS . . . you are going to need it.
  4. I wish those were in Arlanta. I have never owned Cornwalls and that is very food sale price,
  5. And powered by Aletheia crossovers, too! Awesome!
  6. Awesome . . . looking forward to some pics! I drive 20 hours roundtrip for my last pair of Belles . . . well worth it! The second pair I got local . . . pretty happy about that. Yes, you drove well over my simple 20 hours in one day . . . but since it was a vacation for you too, you got basically free shipping! ;-) Congrats on a successful return!
  7. That is a move that gives you excellent future flexibility!
  8. Hey, Jugger . . . Thanks for the links. Just an FYI since you are newer and enthusiastic to help alert us all to good stuff for sale. Third party finds like this should really be posted in the "Alerts" under the Garage Sale forum. We just try to keep the top garage sale section for members selling, then alert each other to third party sales under the alerts section. I have bought stuff from members in the garage sale section and have bought great stuff fellow members have alerted me to through alerts posts. We really help each other out around here. Sometimes, even some of us who have been around a while forget too. :-) Hang around . . . you will love this forum community! Thanks again for the links.
  9. I simply would not buy an AVR for a multi-channel setup without substantial room correction software. The Denon x4000 at a solid price point would serve you well . . . but there are many options if you are buying new. If you buy new Denon, make sure you buy from an authorized online dealer or you will get no warranty. (See http://usa.denon.com/us/wheretobuy/online-retalier). Shop around, even make some calls to often get a better discount. Google some user forums for the Denon x4000. There are other great AVRs. I am running a Denon 4311ci in the HT with an additional external amp . . . love it. I have a 7-year-old Pioneer Elite AVR in my second setup. Love that sound too. Now with ATMOS enabled AVRs, numerous people are upgrading there AVRs; so a new pre-owned can sometimes be found at a great price. Just make sure for pre-owned that the warranty is still in effect AND transferable to a second owner. I might recommend that you read through recent threads in this HT forum section to get a feel of what people are using. I like the Airplay enabled and internet capable AVRs. Look at the Denon x4000 specs and see if it is for you . . . it has numerous streaming possibilities. Before determining which AVR to buy (new or pre-owned), FIRST determine your firm budget for an AVR, then go searching. Keeps one from getting crazy and then have no money for speakers! ;-)
  10. One last possibility . . . look also for an Academy or a single Heresy at the same time to use with your Forte II fronts . . . and let the gods of the pre-owned Klipsch search decide. Sacrifice a few chickens in their honor over the next few weekend on the grill. ;-)If you get your new AVR x4000 in before getting a center channel, just run it with a phantom center channel setting with just your Forte II fronts. Or . . . the simplest, cheapest route to good result . . . You could really just simplifiy the whole thing . . . you already have rehabbed Forte IIs you love . . . find an Academy and listen to the front three speaker sound stage for a while to see how you like it. If you like it, then a pair of Heresys for surrounds will be easily out there. There is the cheapest, simplest route. If you do not like the ForteII/Academy/Heresy setup, then look for an RC7/RF7/RS7 setup, taking your time while still enjoying your ForteII/Academy/Heresy setup. But, if you like the first setup . . . you are done. My wife and I have a saying, "When you are unsure of what to do, don't do anything. Wait yourself out. A day or moment will soon come when you know exactly what to do, then pursue that with passion."
  11. Coytee is an awesome forum member who contributes much. Anybody near enough to Knoxville that someone could help him with this? I know he would never ask.
  12. Glad to see you decide, Louis . . . and a good choice. Hope you find them soon.
  13. I need that too be in ATL!
  14. You are welcome . . . Great upgrades on the Fortes! Do you already also have the Chorus IIs in your possession? If you do, I certainly misunderstood. And, if you also already have the Chorus IIs, as The Head already pointed out, you are just a center channel away from your 5 channel HT . . . a single Heresy, or one of the other options. Do you already have a sub?
  15. You should reconsider your end game. The Heresy, La Scala, Belle and Klipschorn were not designed for HT, but for exemplary 2 channel listening. They are no good for HT. You are killing me, Bro . . . You gigged me on my paradox! Heritage were not designed for HT duty. I guess now, since you are technically correct, that I will have to sell off the all Heritage HT and get this: http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/shop_online/home_theater/soundbars/cinemate_15/index.jsp;-)
  16. I saw the Gallery . . . Great stuff! Ought not this thread be "Pinned?"
  17. Does the box include "Christmas with the Chipmunks" both volumes 1 & 2? If so, makes the set better than free!
  18. Up for sale is a pair of black RB-61s (not IIs) in outstanding condition, with original boxes. The RB61s were only used for a short while as rears in a 7.1 Reference setup. Boxed them up and put them in a corner 2 1/2 years ago when I moved to an all Heritage setup. After pics, I put the speakers back into the original shipping box ready sell. (I did not want too . . . was saving them for a special occasion. Wife said, "But you do not have any other Reference speakers. And, if you ever want to buy another Heresy, the RB-61s have to move out!" There is a small hairline surface scuff (not through the vinyl) I tried to capture in a pic with flash on. The flash magnifies it in the fuzzy picture below. I just did not want anyone to buy them and say . . . "Hey, I see a tiny hairline scuff (not through the vinyl) on the top of the speaker when I shine a 3000 watt Halogen light on it!" Yes, I could have put some black marker, or shoe polish, or some other trick on there to cover it up. I figure that the new owner, if bothered at all, could elect to do that. Again, I never saw it until I took a pic of the top with a flash and then looked at the fuzzy magnified pic. Believe me, with little previous use, perfect corners, perfect cones, and excellent cosmetics (grills excellent too), you will not be disappointed. $250 cash for forum members; local pickup in south metro Atlanta, GA or $250 plus shipping . . . they are in their original boxes and ready to go.
  19. Interesting . . . Many of us would have simply ordered Bob Crites excellent replacement tweeter and have been done with it for a while. Interesting to see how your order your Fastrac and De10s work out. Oh, and congrats on the acquisition of Belles . . . I love mine.
  20. Welcome to the Forum . . . To help with your sale, you will need to post pics and location. Are you near Palm Beach with the 561 area code? This is a great forum to sell Klipsch speakers, but an even better community. Pictures (and location) will quickly increase the interest in your sale. GLWS
  21. For the price, the Denon x4000 will serve you well for both music and HT. (It is capable of 9.2 if you ever wanted to do that with the addition of an external amp.) How to decide on speakers? Well, for HT (and music if you are like me and sometimes run music in multi-channel) ... The soundstage ... The front three speakers are the most important! My first setup was Reference; now I am running two Heritage setups . . . 11.1 in the HT, a 7.1 in the wife's office, and an added pair of a Vintage Heritage speakers in the workshop. But, I truly loved my 7.1 Reference setup until I learned (with the incredible help by this forum community) how to do repairs to vintage Heritage speakers). Some older speakers very often, but not always, need new capacitors to bring them back into spec. How are your soldering skills? Are you willing to be patient and learn those skills, if needed? It took me a dedicate 1 1/2 years to put my two Heritage systems together and put them back into spec for use. At the start . . . what do you want your front three speakers to be? (Surrounds of every possibility are easier to come by.) Your shortest route? You already have the Chorus IIs . . . add a pair of Heresys and a third Heresy (or an RC7 or Academy) and you have your operational 5.1 (assuming you already have a sub). This would be the simplest route, since you would only be buying three speakers. Unless you like tweaking and learning, possibly the better route for you could be the RF7/RC7 route . . . until you found the right surrounds for those (I would find RS62s or even RS52s), you could use your chorus IIs as side surrounds. When you find you new surrounds, you could sell off your Chorus IIs (an sell) or keep them for a 2 channel setup somewhere in the house. Finding the pre-owned speakers you want? Sure, look for the "for sale" of the fronts you desire here on the a Garage Sale and Alerts, and on CL, etc. But do not be simply passive in your quest. Make a decision and post WTB on here and on Craigslist. I have on several occasions posted WTB here on our forum, and nearly every time with a little time was able to make a great deal with a fellow forum member. Also, post WTB on CL . . . got my second pair of Belles on CL that way . . . someone saw my WTB ad, told a friend, who told a friend . . . wahla . . . Belle surrounds in the HT at a phenomenal price! Unless you are just set on an old school look (Heritage) and are willing to learn or have already some soldering skills and like to fool with vintage speakers, I would encourage to go with the RF7/RC7 setup. You can always, if you purchase at a fair price, get your money back on them if you decide late to max out your HT/home with vintage Heritage speakers. So, for now . . . either road, it is hard to beat the Denon x4000 for the prices which can be found. And second, with their modest age, there is always someone with RF7s wanting to upgrade . . . Finally, for a great deal or timely purchase, be willing to drive to get a great deal on pre-owned speakers. You would be surprised in knowing how many of us have clocks some miles to get a great deal on exactly the Klipsch speakers we envision for the end game. Wait a minute . . . "End Game?" Uh . . . forget that. If the right deal comes along for two more pair of Heresies, another pair of La Scalas, Belles, or Klipschorns, I m on the road again! All the best in your decision and in your search. Edit for PS: Considering 50% of your use would be for HT video, I would recommend an RF7 setup . . . the Reference series is designed for HT and is excellent for multichannel Blue Ray music videos and is a strong performer for 2 channel music too. While an excellent speaker which can be adapted for HT viewing, the Chorus IIs were designed for exemplary 2 channel listening.

    It's Here!

Well, international migration of the virus could certainly be prevented with stepping up safety precautions . . . NOT! Tired of studying The Ebola virus in test tubes and Petri dishes, the CDC had to be getting itchy for its first live Ebola patient . . . thus, the medical flight of an American patient hosting early signs of infection into the U.S. on the only medical isolation airplane of its kind . . . A heroic effort by the CDC to save an American life? No . . . It was simply an opportunity to study the progression and treatment of the virus in a living host, what could have been done for him back in Africa . . . as the CDC and WHO still continue to do. When treated properly in Africa, 50% of patients survive. No treatment, only 10% survive. It was simply unnecessary, save for the CDCs hunger to have a live host to study here on site here in Atlantaat HQ. Am I thrilled he was saved? Absolutely! Could the CDC have done the same saving attempt at the origin of infection in Africa across the Atlantic near its source? Absolutely . . . they have been doing that and continue to do such now. Remeber the Tuskeegee Experiment? http://www.cdc.gov/tuskegee/timeline.htm BTW . . . What ever happened to the Public Health Service? Well, it got a name change to the Cenetr for Disease Control & Precention (a.k.a. the CDC). http://wwwn.cdc.gov/nndss/script/history.aspx Where is Homeland Security on all of this? Probably handing out more free home fire detectors to the nation's fire departments to give away. http://www.brooklyndaily.com/stories/2014/13/mm-senior-smoke-detectors-2014-03-28-bk_2014_13.html Am I riled up against treating poor souls with Ebola whether they are in Africa or the US? No . . . God bless the health care workers and volunteers who go in to minister to any and everyone Ebola patient suffering nearly apocalyptic circumstance. But I am calmly disturbed by the CDC's callousness toward the tax payers who fund their salaries and research in unnecessarily and purposely binging Ebola to U.S. Soil. That felt good to get out. Now, it should be "all hands on deck" and our prayers to every single person who contracts the disease, no matter its origin or current location.
  23. Wow! Already in just a few posts some very interesting and creative applications!
  24. For those using an external amp to drive their front speakers in your HT, simply interested in hearing what external amp(s) you may be using. In an 11.1 Heritage setup with a Denon 4311, I am rotating two external amps to drive the Khorn fronts: GFA 555 series I Phase Linear 400 series I . . . (professionally reworked to avoid becoming a "Flame Linear," my favorite to use. I love the VU meters and the warm sound, especially when I go two channel music with it.) So, what external amp(s) drive your fronts in your HT?
