  1. Have you tried any of the online sites? I particularly like 6 Moons,StereoMojo, and EnjoytheMusic that Colin Flood,a Klipschorn owner writes for.
  2. I use Heresys as centers and rears in my HT system and theu work great!
  3. It's great to see someone who is the absolute best at what they do have such a long career. So many times in my life I have seen great talent squandered on drugs and alcohol, or lives such as Duane and Stevie Ray cut down in their prime by accidents. Doc Watson was truly a master. RIP.What a legacy he has left us.
  4. Willie Nelson on his 75th birthday said "I think I have outlived my d#@k"
  5. Not to hijack your thread, but I attended Christmas service at 4:00pm today at the National Cathedral in DC. Although I would not describe myself as an organ buff, I was literally in tears listening to the organ and choir perform Christmas Hymns. Truly a spiritual experience and I believe that I finally felt the Christmas spirit. I highly recommend it to anyone who finds himself in our capital. 5 stars all the way.
  6. Thanx for the link, Davidness. Mac-Safari issues prohibit me from posting a link.

  8. I forgot to tell you why! Because with these amps, you do not hear the music, you experience it!
  9. 1. My Welborne Moondog 2A3's with my Klipschorns 2. My Welborne Laurel II's with my Klipschorns 3. My Bottlehead Paramour II's with my La Scalas
  10. I listen to my LaScalas with Bottlehead Foreplay II and 2A3 Paramours and that is exactly how my last friend I had over described it-like having a huge set of headphones-it sounds great-almost better than my Moondog/Klipschorn "reference" system. Part of the appeal is that system is at my cabin in the country and I can turn it up as loud and as long as i d*mn well please.
  11. It's nice to have confirmation. It's virtually impossible to try out new amp configurations without buying them and bringing them home. It's pretty hard to tote around a pair of Klipschorns or LaScalas to audition a new amp. I bought the Welborne's solely on the Klipsch forums recommendations(particularly Marvel's on the Moondogs). I have Bottlehead Paramours with my LaScalas but they don't have the transparency of the Welborne's. They're magical... I keep thinking I will tweak mine some, but it scares me that I might no like the outcome. The one think I would do is add a choke to each one (Erik always encourages me to try it...), but they sound so good already. Bruce Over the years I have had about 7 pairs of tube amps and now they're all gone except the Moondogs.
  12. I have one I used in my garage system with Heresy II's but upgraded to a Melody SP3 (38 watts)-it's a great little amp and I would part with it if you are interested. For the price point it would be hard to beat. Email me if you want to discuss further.
  13. I have a pair of Welborne 300b Laurels first and then Welborne 2A3 Moondogs running through Klipschorns. Since I set the Moondogs up, they haven't left. There seems to be more, for lack of a better description, more air around the notes on the 2A3's. I also have a set of Bottlehead Paramour 2A3's on my cabin system with LaScalas and couldn't be happier. I'm sure you would be happier with either, but when I listen to Diana Krall on my Moondogs-it is just sublime. It has truly slowed down my upgraditis obsession. Not cured, mind you, but brought it into remission.
  14. Great score! Did you look in the windows to see if there was a pair of Moondogs inside to go with them?
  15. #2. Men are not evolved enough to understand-only to obey.
  16. I was just skimming this post looking at the photos and not reading the copy and...... On the first page, it shows you unboxing the 2 subs and placing them on the floor underneath the screen-the next post photo shows all the sheetrock torn off the walls!!!! I had to go back and read the copy to see that it wasn't the subs that removed the sheetrock???? I was ready to go out and buy myself a pair!!! It was like one of those flip books that show a progression of events- Anyway=my little humor for the day
  17. Absurd, you say! I resemble that remark! Very wrong-I am, quite often, I'm told. Perhaps I should have personalized my remarks-you guys are technically way over my head. What I should have said, is that tube amp watts sound better to me than solid state watts. If it sounds good to you, it is good.
  18. How's about the Bottlehead Foreplay? Not a 6H30, but certainly has a long track record and the company is solid. I have one matched with their Paramour 2A3 amps for my LaScalas and couldn't be more pleased.
  19. I power my Klipschorns with Welborne Moondogs 2A3 tubes putting out a mighty 3.5 watts and can't turn it up over 3(out of ten). Tube watts are different than solid state watts. Horns love tubes!
  20. Melissa-Allman Brothers Band<,/,p,> Rosalita-Bruce Springsteen <,/,p,> Caravan-Van Morrison <,/,p,>
  21. I have a Yaqin 12B paired with my Onix SP3 into LaScalas and I have been very pleased with it. It works well with my $25 Garage sale Thorens 105MKII table-I found the Yaqin on CL for $200.I have this thing about getting the most bang for my buck.Seems to work!
  22. Marion, you are truly the new Grand Wazoo-The Big Kahuna! Congratulations on a project extremely well done! What is amazing is that the 2 channel system is powered by a pair of barely 20 watt amps! That is a testament to the design and execution of Klipsch and why most of us are totally obsessed with their products! Thanx-keep up the good work!
  23. Outstanding!!!! Those should sound awesome! It never ceases to amaze me how well the vintage stuff sounds.
  24. Where are you located? Someone near you probably can give you audition with some different gear to give you a choice of amps. i run Khorns with Welborne laurels 300b SET (9 watts) and recently recieved a pair of Welborne Moondogs 2A3 SET(3.5) watts and feel that I am probably happy for quite a while(until the upgrade bug bites again) The SET sound is truly addictive and Khorns utilize every watt to it's fullest. If you are in West Florida, feel free to come for a listen!
