  1. Oh, you're looking for a horizontal center channel? (that's what I perceive when you mention geometry). There are no horizontal centers this side of DIY that match the Khorn. That's a huge task!
  2. I have one problem with only using the high hat section of the LaScala as a center, it doesn't dip down into the 80 or even 100hz range. The high hat crosses over around 400hz, you'll need a full LaScala as a center. My setup consist of Cornwalls and a heresy for the center.
  3. If you properly level match, a Heresy will work as a center channel...in HT. in a extended stereo (center added) three channel music set up - you'd want another Belle. I started to go with a vertical Cornwall at one time because I felt that my Heresy wasn't keeping up. Did some room measurements, acoustic panels, and some PEQ and presto!!!! I retain my panning and image even at loud volumes. The best setup is always to use three identical speakers across the front, but in this case a Heresy can work - but a Belle is better.
  4. Too low? What I believe people should do is grab a hold of Orion's blue book and find out the real prices for used gear! I'm looking at people trying to sell Cornwall i's for $1500!? That's a shame, especially when the Blue book is $576 a pair for Cornwall 1's. I paid over for mine only because I loved them that much and loved the finish! Have I ever flipped anything...sure, but I looked for it myself without soliciting the mass aid of a brand lovers group. That's the part that seems morally wrong here. If your hunting Khorns or other classic speakers, just do a Craigslist search.....that way your rep is clean and forum enthusiast don't feel used. Just saying .
  5. That's a good one!!!! It's a shame that people are doing this. Oh well - it may drive up the prices on my current Corns and Heresy's as well []
  6. T'was a hoax!!!!! I was there as well quite a few other people.
  7. Not me [] ! Since my PC happens to be my preamp, all I will have to do is change video cards
  8. If his isn't for sale - I have one for sale, as I do everything in J.River now. PM if you don't work out a deal with pzannucc.
  9. I know you wanted to stay away from Craigslist but I just saw a very nice pair in Alabama for $2200. http://bham.craigslist.org/ele/3966086861.html
  10. Fellas - they are going to sell for more than listed. I just got an email back from the seller saying that someone offered him $600, I told him I was out then. $400 bucks - I was going to make the 4 hour drive down there this evening and come back tomorrow, but $600+ - I'll let one of you guys fight it out.
  11. Don't us the 1000, it's good for subs, but too noisy (not fan noise but distortion level) for your 525's. Move up to the 1500 or above - the output on those are clean
  12. Yeah, I busy with a lot of things and just couldn't make time to get to Hollywood, FL. Had a few health issues that needed to be taken care of. Speakers take a back seat to that. Now I no longer desire to build that Cornwall center channel - Moved my CW's back to the wall and my Heresy is a bit froward of the CW's - actuall makes up for the SPL differences. My HT pans are perfect and the Heresy is now keeping up with the CW's due to the position change. I'm satisfied!

  14. I bought those but I couldn't make arrangements to get them- Anyone one the board that wants them, I have proof of purchase - they can get them for free. It's a shame that they are trying to sell them twice.
  15. It does sound like you have multiple issues. When you get everything back, PM me and lets work this out.
  16. In J.River - do you have it set to bitstream in the audio section? You have to set it to bitstream in order to hear the HDMI audio. Also make sure your AMD HDMI audio driver is the latest one. I my HTPC as a prepro in my system and I do all of my processing through J. River. I've used the HDMI out to a receiver before, but now I've configured my HTPC to be not only the sole source - but the enitre brains of my current system. Get back with me and maybe I can walk you through this.
  17. Excellent system!!!! I'm also curious - are you prior military as well? I generaly only see the sword collection with military members stationed in the far east (namely the PI, Japan, and Korea).
  18. If you look a time line - the Heresy actually predates the Cornwall []
  19. Pictures would help your sale. Remember to take pictures with the grills on, off, and a picture of the binding post. Good luck with your sale
  20. I have Cornwalls right now and I love'em!!! However - a Khorn is...a Khorn!!!! If I had that opprotunitiy and I had the corners, it would definately be the Khorn!!!!
  21. Still got'em [] !!!! I'm using one as a center but that won't last long because I'm working on a vertical Cornwall for a center.
  22. Looks like they haven't been oiled in a while. He won't get it.....
  23. Now that is news!!!! Nothing for sale from A1UC? Nothing new after the Salk center?!!!! Wow!!!! @Reference Head - hey I don't have Corn3's but I do have Corn1's with Crites upgrades and I'm getting ready to build a Vertical for my new center channel (just bought the cabinets for $59 - just have to change the motorboard - I have most of the parts for the speakers now.
  24. Were you the other interested party [] ?!!!!
  25. I've paid for them and I have a receipt !!!! I have to make a trek down to pick them up!
