  1. great system, kinda makes your sticker peck up.. It's enough to pis# the neighbors off
  2. I found some threads on a couple other sites that look promising, but I know that out of this group of audio nuts, someone on here has built a killer machine.
  3. I have a pair of RF35's and IMO, I would hold off on the switch until you find a deal and can jump into the RF 7's, it will be worth the wait. IMO
  4. I own a Velodyne and have auditioned SVS and Def Tech's but I really love my RSW 15, which could be a bit much for your system and space, but I think the RSW's sound better than the newer RT's IMO and a nice RSW 12 or 10 should sound nice with your towers.
  5. I feel left out with no big horns to show off.......................................YET!
  6. I appreciate the offer and I may take you up on that. I was originally planning on coming out for the gathering this Summer, but it didn't work out. If I come out and hear all the gear that you have, I'm going to never finish my remodeling project. LOL
  7. Thanks for the info. I will check out the other threads and do some more checking around. I just figured that someone here has already built a great machine, but some of the older posts on these subjects, seemed to take on a mind of their own..............lol
  8. It's a remodle project and I'll end up with the corners spread apart approx. 24'
  9. I'm really trying to find someone local for the repairs I need on my Sansui, but I'm contacting Craig about tube amps. Thanks for the info.
  10. I've looked through some of the archives but haven't found any good build plans for an automatic record cleaning machine. Has anyone here built their own and been happy with the results. I just can't justify spending a ton of money for something that looks pretty straight forward to build. I'm interested in something that's automatic ( regarding turning the LP's by hand). Second question is the correct formula for cleaning solution that will do the job and not damage the LP's.
  11. Do these have Dean G's crossovers? If not, based on everyones love of his mod, the question would be why not?
  12. I'll drop him a line today, and thanks for your help!
  13. OK, I'll ask the obvious questions; Why will you be parting with your K Horns and do you know what you will be asking for them? I would also like to know, what your opinion is regarding the differences between the 3 series, as you own and have listened to them, so that makes you much more qualified than me. Thanks for your information and time.
  14. Any locals here on the forum that can recommend a great repair shop in the Canton Ohio area? I need someone that can work on older receivers, amps, really, any vintage equipment. Thanks!
  15. I'm ready to pick up a set of K Horns, La Scala's, Belle's, I'm not really sure and some of the decision will come down to availability and price, but I would love the opportunity to listen to these, prior to making that decision. I'm close to Canton Ohio 44657 and would be willing to travel a little if there's someone that would let me audition any of these. I'm putting together a dedicated audio system and want one of these to be the cornerstone of the system. The open room will end up being approx. 24 x 30 with a vaulted ceiling. Any advice would be appreciated. As a side note, who is the Guru on tube amps on the site and does anyone have anything to offer up on matching tube amps to the Heritage speakers...............................................Thanks!
  16. I've run with 1 RSW 15, then with a Velodyne 1215 connected, and then with those and the small 10's in a set of RP 3's that were in the set up and the RSW 15, just overshadows the others to the point where I went back to it as a stand alone. I'm looking for a RSW 12 or 10 to run with the 15 and see what that does. It's just too much fun to stop trying new s*&^.
  17. I own quite a few Klipsch speakers and I would either pick up a pair of RF 7's, if you take your time, you should be able to buy them now for around $1,000. They are just great speakers and if you plan to build up a system, you won't be dissapointed if you are using them for 2 channel and home theater. Then you need to find a clean RSW 15 and just blow your walls out. LOL. FYI, my home theater system is RF 7's, RSW 15, RP 3's (Sides) RC 7, and RF 35 ( Rears)
  18. I'm really happy to hear that there's going to be a gathering. I'm new to Klipsch but I've wanted to hear the heritage gear prior to investing in a set of K horns or LaScalla's. Count me in! Will anyone have a set of RF 7's to hear side by side with the classics? If not, I might just load mine up. Pete Houtz
  19. Ok Coytee, what's up with the picture change??????? I liked the dog with the glasses, but what does the side of the face with the ear represent????
  20. That build is just insane (I mean that in a good insane way) LOL!
  21. Just found this myself and wanted to know if anyone has detailed plans to do a build like this.
  22. What Mike said and to get great stuff out of a vehicle you don't need some huge sub, I ran 4 forward firing Memphis 8's and some 6.5 MB Quart 2 ways in the doors with the tweeters mounted seperatly at ear level and it blew everyone away. I would suggest you give them a listen and get a sub also.
  23. Just in case what Mike said was little to technical and prior to him finding the exact formulas, let me try and put this in easy to understand language. Get them out of the cabinet and move them around until they sound the best. LOL[8-|] The 5's are wonderful speakers and I'm doing a simple system with those and a nice small sub in my shop.
  24. First of all, thanks for making that simple. As a test I took a carver M200 T and bridged it to the low end of one RF 7 and then took the left channel of the onkyo 805 and drove the horns so the carver bridged is rated at 350 and the onkyo around 130 and I just fed the other speaker with the onkyo and the jumpers on, as I figured this would be the easiest way to test the difference and wow, what a difference especially in the low end so at this point I'll be looking for a matching carver and I was planning on buying or building a nice tube amp to drive the horns and I think I'll be finished for a while. On a note that has to do with the original post, I've never had the chance to play with the HK gear I have owned tons of vintage SABA equipment and the warmth of what their receivers would put out and their signature sound was magic to the ears and I can appreciate what all of you are talking about so while my search to replace some of those pieces that I sold (like an idiot) many years ago, I may just have to give the HK stuff a listen and see what you're all talking about. If anyone ever runs into any of the SABA stuff, please drop me a line.
