Klipschorns and never ending mysteries of wives
ratcobob replied to YK Thom's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
I started topping almost all wood surfaces with glass many years ago. If you have quality furniture, it deserves protection from watered plants, candles, girlfriends, (ex) wives, inconsiderate friends, etc. It makes dusting/cleaning quick and easy and costs less than those decorative rings. -
Sakharov yourself, you brought her.

Well, a band of sneaky pygmies is a bunch of cunning runts.

As long as there's enough advance notice to disconnect from the grid. Would not be good to live in one of those things called cities. Expert: 90% of U.S. Population Could Die if a Pulse Event Hits the Power Grid | POWER Magazine

A couple of other products that have many well written reviews are: Amazon.com: The Mountain Three Wolf Moon Short Sleeve Tee: Fashion T Shirts: Clothing and Amazon.com : Tuscan Whole Milk, 1 Gallon, 128 fl oz : Grocery & Gourmet Food One of these being something like 'checked the "buy it used" box' - big mistake

Would've bet, and lost. What I have are this pair instead of lasers - Sorry for the confusion and good luck with your search.

I inadvertently bought them. Put in a bid way before close so I'd be notified and none of you guys stepped up. $1525, borrowed a good friends van to haul a set of Khorns for the second time and made the 5 hour run to WI, Nicely stained and sealed birch. One of them showed about 3 inches of water creep lightly at the base. His wife said "they were like members of the family". They went directly to an old friend of mine who didn't even own a receiver. Installed them Friday and he's tickled but I'm not. Room configuration could hardly be more similar to mine but something seems to be missing. Imaging and bottom end seem vague. I need to take some familiar CD's over to compare. Maybe they just need a good Critesing or different power.

I may be able to help. Seems I pitched a spare in the back of a La Scala years ago. I'll check.

Shameless plug (to help boost the price of my stock holdings). As an Apple certified technician we advise running no anti anything software on Apple computers as it just adds overhead and does no good as there are No viruses in the wild for Macs. There have been a few recent malware and DNS changer items which had little impact and have been addressed. Better hardware and software are more expensive and as Klipsch users know, you get what you pay for.

I'm not much of a movie guy. Must be why my fave hasn't been mentioned. I guess my taste is in my mouth. A Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy covers a lot of ground and is suitable for all ages.

That 'makes sense' stuff will not get you far round these parts - Way off topic

Alex and family: As you have seen here, Boxx' influence was broad, deep and your loss has rocked this group to its foundations. He enriched all our lives. Peace be with you.

Sub won't turn off when A/V receiver is turned off?
ratcobob replied to NEVRL8's topic in Subwoofers
If you really want it and anything else powered down, a smart outlet strip would do the trick. Plug your AVR or whatever your prime device is into the sense receptacle and sub and whatever else into the controlled receptacles and they will only be powered when the prime device is on. Current draw threshold is adjustable for the sense receptacle. I use one for AV and another for the computer and its attendant wall warts and I really like them. No neighbors is excellent. I get to play it as loud as the cattle want it to be herd. They seem to appreciate udder flutter.
