    The Bounty

I recetly picked up "The Bounty" starring Mel Gibson and Anthony Hopkins. Although the original "Mutiny On The Bounty" with Marlon Brando is a better story,"The Bounty" is an exceptional film. The DD5.1 sound is great. The creaking of the timbers puts you right on the boat. Good color, good sound, good value @ 14 bucks.
  2. The music industry is killing it's self and placing the blame on home burning. The artists are sighned for one hit and then laid by the wayside. The industry doesn't promote the artist the way they used to,the industry signs the artist based on demographics and what they think we want to hear. There is a lot of independent artists that have exceptional catalogues of songs but one never hears them because they thumb their nose at the industry. When the industry realizes they can make more money selling more records of better music cheaper then they'll get off their death bed.
  3. I think the Denon was a wise choice. After using Kenwood,Realistic,Maranz,Sony and Pioneer, I found the Denon supurb. It was like hearing Klipsch for the first time!
  4. When I get a 1968 Shelby GT 500 I'll try my best to contrl my dream!

    Train

In this paticular show they cover Led Zeppelin's "Ramble On" and this is the only cover I've ever heard that surpasses the original. This is a must have. It has natural live sound with no instruments in the rear.
  9. Sony and not ral happy with it. Have attempted to shoot pics of my gear and post them but can't get quality shots.
  10. Flason, I'm with you. Through out the years Tampa Bay has been my team. I guess It's the Parrothead in me. Love Florida and I really like the Pirate thing. They are my team in the NFC. Oakland is my team in the AFC, again that pirate thing. Looks like I could have a nervous breakdown if they both make it. I guess I'll root for whoever has the ball.
  11. I think Cockel Shells have something to do with it
  12. While we're at it lets correct Builder's geography. Baton Rouge is on the Mississippi not the Red.
  13. Canadian soldiers should not practice at night with live ammo in a war zone
  14. I wasn't sure about the spelling since I do not speak French.I live in the Bible belt of North Louisiana. Lucinda Williams wrote the song"Crescent City" and I referred to the lyrics for the spelling. She's from Baton Rouge. I trusted her knowledge of the lingo. So,Let the Good Times Roll!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. You know prodj101,I am an unemployed Sheet Metal Worker.I worked for 22 years for a co. that closed it's doors for no obvious reason. I'm far from rich but judging from your comments I have far more wealth than you.
  16. IMHO the Cornwall was dropped because for a few dollars more one could have a fully horn loaded speaker in the LaScala. If one had the money, why settle for a large Heresy when you could have a big ol' Scala? So sales weren"t that great.
  17. French for LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Jim,Sorry about your Dad losing his job. I to lost mine back in July. Though I'm only 50,I know how hard it is to find suitable work. I'm physically fit,a craftsman, and a hard worker but it seems nobody wants to hire anyone my age. I certainly hope your Dad can find work. If a suit is available I would take on this co. They all seem to treat their employees as liabilities and not resources.

  21. The access panel for my LaScalas is located on top of the bass cavity. To gain access the sqawker must be removed. They're 1973 models. I looked at a new one the other day and could find no access panel so it must be on the bottom. The salesman didn't have a clue where it was.
  22. "Keys To The Ascention" is a good YES concert DVD.
