  1. @Chris A you use Xilicas with unbalanced consumer gear? @Gnote I think the Xilicas have enough "gain reach" to use with unbalacned equipment. Let's see what Chris has to say. @MetropolisLakeOutfitters these work with home gear correct?

    What I Got Today!

If you're serious----- as far as I know both ends of all HDMI cables are the same, it's the equipment it is plugging into that has the opposite sex connector. The active cables have some lettering or arrows to tell you which is which, like this: https://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=102&cp_id=10255&cs_id=1025506&p_id=12735&seq=1&format=2

Why is the center conductor a twisted pair? Cuz you have to cancel out the inter capacitance of the two halves of itself. Come on everybody knows that. And if you hook it up backwrds? My goodness can you say mucho Henries of inductance?

    What I Got Today!

Some HDMI cables have active circuitry at the sending end and must be on the HDMI "OUT" part of the connection.
  5. I plan on using a couple of these D75s I am working on for the mid/high on my Jubes. I intend to use one in bridged mode for each the left and right channels. I am discouraged to hear you are experiencing trouble @Speed Are yours brand new? Or used? If used you have no idea what they have been through. But a competent tech should be able to fix it for you if you're not up to it. The schematic is readily available as posted right in this thread in fact.
  6. There must be but I sure don't know how? I would think if Xilica OEMs these they would be identical Hardware wise and maybe just have special markings that the OEM spec'd and maybe some pre programming. I think Xilica is the OEM for Danley's crossovers.
  7. Eatin' good in the neighborhoods Was that Carni-val?
  8. Hey mine were made in '77. I better start checking for a hidden signature
  9. Yea you wouldn't get pulled over in California driving that. That's gotta be street legal, right?
  10. And now for something completely different.
  11. Hey they're "well aged" I think you got a great deal
  12. 1971, 1978, CD? I'm confused. Do you mean 8 track?
  13. Cool, Thanks @John Warren. I could put a output relay that does not connect the speakers until the amp has come up. So many modern day amps have this. But I would really like to understand with the minor mods I have made why it is unstable.
  14. "We're part of the fire that is burning...And from the ashes we can build another day" The Moodys made the chart. Cool.
  15. Well this sucks. Units will not power up into 4 ohm loads in two channel mode. But will power up into 8 ohms bridged. Also will run 4 ohm loads if I plug the load in after power up. Outputs are latching to the positive rail.
  16. @MORE KLIPSCH PLEASE Sorry to hear about the boss's Mom. What is her first name? God loves names when we pray for people.

You told Carl to get a grip?
  18. Like I said last week its been just horrible down here this winter Haven't used the heat or A/C since like October.
  19. Some pictures of my work. Like I said on these older units there is a lot of hand wiring. On the close up of the XLR connectors you can see pin 1 now goes directly to a grounding lug on the chassis(added by me). It used to daisy chain over to the sleeve connection of the unbalanced 1/4" input jack which then directly connected to signal ground. See schematic in previous post. And yes I know C218 is missing on PCB. It was reworked by someone previous to my obtaining this unit and they used the wrong value capacitor. I am going to procure the proper part.
