  1. To make accurate sub 1 ohm measurements you need a 4 wire meter. Usually only benchtop ($$$) meters have this capability. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four-terminal_sensing
  2. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/161495-you-were-all-right-about-the-tads-and-the-402/page-2 Think this it at post #22 And yes this is what my post suggesting we get them from the Chief was refering to. I think there were a bunch of us wanting to get on that bandwagon

    What I Got Today!

Dude you might want to return those, they look broken. Oh don't worry they will get broken, and then Oakley will say "sorry no parts available" " buy whole new one different model" Oakley SUCKS
  4. From who Chris?? How's 'bout from you Chief?
  5. Cool-- If the first one does get fixed this way I would still press the point that it appears to be a design flaw that THEY should cover. I mean it is not like you damaged the amp. It has always done this. But I'm a d%$k about this kind of stuff.
  6. Ok, then it sounds like there is a design flaw in the amp as "Zim" stated. Like you need a relay on the amp outputs that you turn on after the amp has stabilized and turn off before you turn off the amp. That would suck. IMHO.
  7. Thanks Chris, No K77s hooked up here presently, although I could go back to them Currently have B and C DE38s on Contrac horns. Also have DE120s on Eliptrac tweeter lenses that I have not even tried yet.
  8. I don't know if there is a design flaw in these amps or not, Bryston should and they should 'fess up and fix for you if so IMHO. But as a general rule in systems with with separate preamps, processors, mixers etc... and power amps: Power amps are turned ON LAST and turned OFF FIRST.
  9. MG, Definitely make sure none of the electrodes(emitter, base and collector) are contacting the heatsink. Have you also replaced TR609 and 611?
  10. Opening this old thread because I'm just starting to venture into triamping my 2 channel set up. I've got the Yamaha SP- 2060 but only one amp so far. I have Khorns and La Scalas with various horn and driver modifications and ALK ES crossovers. Triamping seems to be the next step into this insanity(hobby). But I have a question that is causing me confusion. So Heyser measured the bass horn of the KHorn to be 8.4 mS behind (delayed) the tweeter? So to remedy the tweeter is delayed 6 mS more by Greg? And Chris suggests trying the full 8.4 mS. Am I thinking backwards? And while I'm here a BIG THANK YOU to Greg for "publishing" his settings for the KHorn.
  11. And what I.C.Opamps do you favor/suggest? ---Sorry for opening this old thread
  12. That's a beautiful story. It reminds me of when it rains it's God crying, probably because of something I did. God only cried once. When his friend Lazarus died
  13. OP, you need to be doing AC measurements, not DC. Who cares if there is a 1 millivolt DC difference in your AVR outputs. Speakers do not like any DC voltage but a tiny amount they will usually tolerate. Your meter needs to be set at the 200 or 600 V AC scale. The lower setting (200V) will be more accurate(as pointed out by MustangGuy) and should suffice for your AVR outputs. Oh and Welcome to the Klipsch Forum........ and the madness.
  14. I didn't marry until I was 37. Already had La Scalas and KHorns. She knew what she was getting.
  15. Yea--- just keep on rolling and spark'n ' em up And DON'T BOGART pass'em along.
  16. + 1 on sealing the bass bin to the walls with pipe foam. I bought a pair of used KHorns in 1988 went over 20 years without doing this, did not know any better. Also time aligning the tweeter with mid- DO IT. This also I did not know to do until recently. Now I am just starting down the path to get all three drivers aligned with a digital crossover.
  17. Thanks for all the replies... Splatter coated huh....wonder if Klipsch would consider selling them unfinished? I know that's how I got my Birch La Scalas some 39 years ago. BTW I did see these: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/162739-great-pic-of-a-pro-lascala/
  18. For those of you who own Klipsch Pro(or Cinema) speakers. Is the paint finish smooth? If someone was crazy enough could you veneer over it pretty easily for a more home friendly version of the speaker? Or is the finish rough and would take a lot of prep work?
  19. Could you hook two speakers in parallel across the + outputs of 2 amps and invert the signal into one of the amps?
  20. It all depends------ I was looking for subs to match my cherry RF7-IIs and cherry media console for the family room HT. Now for the 2 channel KHorn/Lascala set up in the basement mancave someday I hope to have a horn loaded sub(s).
  21. Bet he can shake the shite out of the knick knacks in that curio cabinet.
  22. Want me to call and ask? I live about 40 miles away.
  23. In the past year and a half I've been able to pick up a pair in cherry in real good condition for $650 for one and $750 for the other. So yea $1500 for 2 is Ok but maybe a little high. If they are in great condition I would not haggle over $100. But with these you have to want black.
  24. That's for sure, no one get's out alive. So let's eat chocolate now! The darker the better for me. Kinda goes along with "There is no beer in heaven that's why we drink it here".
  25. Life is a temporary situation.
