  1. Just don't use it. There's a bunch of dead bastards around here Hey! Watch what you say about my Mama
  2. Dr Morbius, It looks like there is in fact an ALK resistive L Pad tweeter attenuator on that speaker as wdecho pointed out. What is it set to? Hopefully you don't say it is already set to zero. http://www.alkeng.com/pad.html
  3. Daddy Dee my prayers are with you.
  4. I believe propane has more "energy" than natural gas. My home generator will produce 20kW on propane but only 18kW on natural gas. Yep, for sure propane has more energy per molecule or however they measure it. When I built my house I had to convert the clothes dryer to propane(was natural gas) and the new cooktop came with spare installable propane orifices to replace the NG ones it came with. It was still hard to control the amount of heat it produces, hard to simmer/slow cook anything. But an appliance guy we called to get help to try and turn it down low showed my wife and I a trick. Once you get the burner lit you turn the dial back to the area between the "OFF" and "LITE" and it restricts the flow of gas even lower then the "LOW" setting. It's a touchy adjustment but at least it works on our cooktop.
  5. Wow, so there is walnut veneer under the oak? Cool. Personally I would prefer walnut anyway. But hey everybody's got there own tastes, its all good. Those crossovers look like modified AA(duh) type. Perhaps a previous owner replaced iron core inductors with air core? And replaced old PIO caps. Maybe try contacting DeanG or Bob Crites for their better than my opinions/knowledge. Or maybe one of them will chime in here.
  6. Thanks. Got back late Thursday night. From sort of winter like weather and its 109 degrees here over the weekend...What the???
  7. Oh yea and BTW I'm back in one piece from Peru. Thanks for all your well wishes and prayers. My niece's wedding was a blast, they do know how to Par-Tay down yonder. The bummer part of the trip was my MIL. 93 years old laying in bed with a broken leg. She had developed a urinary tract infection from her immobility. They do things differently down there. Seems like here no matter what they want you up and walking around ASAP, not down there. It'll be 3 months in bed before they let her up and try to get her walking. She's going to be one sore puppy. Please continue to pray for her. And Dtel it is winter down there south of the equator. It was a little chilly some days, even got some drizzle a few days. Heavy enough to make the pavement wet. They have no heating or air conditioning in their homes, don't need it.
  8. What can you tell us about your relationship with your mother?
  9. Haven't you heard the economy is double plus good right now. Everyone has tons of spare money to throw around All kidding aside GLWYS
  10. Morning Gang, Well I'm off to Peru today. Heading down for my niece's wedding. My 93 year old MIL is convalescing after falling and breaking her leg, I will visit with her also of course. Say a prayer for her if you think of it. Her name is Maria Teresa. Well, I'll probably be incommunicado for the next week and half. Hold down the fort.
  11. Study geography much? I was reffering to myself, raised in Michigan now living in California. And I was trying to make a joke, notice the Happy Face. I have friends that I met here in California originally from Texas and the Florida panhandle that used to say to me when I BBQ'd for them "Not bad for a Yankee".
  12. I know I'm paranoid, but am I paranoid enough?
  13. You mean full overlay where the door covers the frame of the cabinet completely? Sometimes called 'euro' cabinets? And the hinges are hidden.

    Windows Ten

Can't see why they'd need to. They announced this a year or so ago and started replacing modems with those so equipped. May be some nefarious plot but I don't care as long as it costs me nothing in money, bandwidth, or privacy. Pretty sure I can shut it off, but have seen no reason to. Dave Why would AT&T broadcast wi-fi that is publicly accessible for free? I am just trying to see where the incentives are. to gather data on you and sell advertising
  15. Really? You guys like plumbing? I hate it. But maybe some of it is because out here the water is so hard everything you touch breaks. It's like the calcium deposits are holding it together.
  16. Thanks. My biggest problem is that I'm too particular about the finished products looks. I've paid people to do work for me and am never happy with their work. I've given up and just do it myself. We've been in the house about 30 years and in that time I've only found one painter (who's now retired) and one concrete finisher who I was totally happy with. There are very few craftsmen left who take pride in their job. It also cuts about half the cost of the finished job when you DIY. This job would be astronomical if I hired it out. The only thing I'm not doing is the cabinets and granite. And from seeing your sub builds you COULD do the cabinets if you wanted to/or had the time.
  17. Happy B'day BSM. Which anniversary of your 39th birthday are we celebrating?
