  1. I thought I remember hearing about a repair guy on eBay that repairs the amps for Klipsch RSW subs? I has a RSW-10 and they are definitely worth repairing if the bill comes in under $500 for the pair. If much more than that, I would probably sell them off broken and put that money towards a DIY setup.
  2. Sitting here in my office listening to a Vietnam playlist because that’s all my pops used to listen to when I was little. It definitely sticks! My 13 year old self would have predicted that I would be sitting here listening to C+C Music Factory and Marky Mark, not the Doors and the Animals..
  3. Sounds like I am behind the times because I didn’t even know Klipsch had a SPL series subwoofer. I will obviously have to bow out, since I literally know nothing about that series of subwoofers. I am sure others here will chime in though!
  4. Well, then get the R-115SW. If if you can get it at cost, you will have a highly regarded subwoofer at an amazing price. If if you can get me the THX Ultra Subs and the matching Kipsch amplifier at cost, hit me up! 😬
  5. Sorry, I haven’t heard of either of those subs. If you provide a room size and a budget, I am sure this group can help you purchase the best subwoofer/subwoofers for your situation.
  6. The Fry’s in Renton had them on display a few weeks ago. I would call them before you head that direction as they might have removed them, to showcase the new III’s. I wouldn’t expect any critical listening sessions if you make the trip either, their audition setup leaves much to be desired. You might also also try Olson’s HiFi in Lynnwood. This is a true audiophile shop that knows their stuff. I just haven’t been there recently so I don’t know what, if any, Klipsch are currently being represented on their showroom.
  7. Also check for any stray speaker wire strands that might be touching binding posts or other areas that they shouldn’t be touching. This is a big culprit over on AVS, when receivers shut off at volume.

    What I Got Today!

I got something pretty COOL for my B&K 200.7 S2 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Get the C7! That is the matching center for the KLF lineup. The RC-62 is no slouch, I have owned 3, but the C7 should match up with your new 20’s much better. Congratulations on finding a pair of KLF-20’s! I have never owned them but I hope to find any of the following, in the near future: KLF-20, KLF-30, CF-3 or CF-4’s. I am not alone in my search though, all are highly regarded.
  10. Where are you located? I am sure someone local might be able to come over and assist with the setup, if this next round of troubleshooting doesn’t produce the desired results. There are a bunch of knowledgeable and generous members on this forum, that are always willing to help. Some crazies, like me, might even enjoy helping for their own benefits because every new system I have ever setup, I have learned something. With that said, I still think I am leaving plenty on the table, when it comes to tweaking. When I move into my forever home, I am going to hire a home theater company to come out and calibrate everything so I know my money invested is being capitalized.
  11. Buy refurbished and add another 15.. https://www.accessories4less.com/?type=&page=category&action=&id=avreceiver&skip_redirect_suffix=&mode=&search_query=&category=&thumb_sort=store_price.desc
  12. I had my 65” LED sitting on top of my RP-450C. That center would probably support 10 modern TV’s without issue. Tube TV’s are a different story😬
  13. If you go into the manual Audyssey setup, there is a subcategory called crossover. You can click the box at the top, that crosses over all speakers and change it to 80hz. Many People here also run their subs 2 or 3db hot. I would find some bass tests on YouTube and play some tracks and adjust the subwoofer level to your liking. Taking some of the heavy lifting off the speakers and putting it on the subs will allow for more headroom.
  14. For home theater, try setting the speakers to small and crossover to 80hz. Those are the usual culprits for quality home theaters not living up to expectations. I can assure you, that receiver will drive those speakers to crazy loud levels, especially considering how close you are sitting to them🤯
  15. Those are some nice choices and congratulations on the new grear! The main tweak I would make is going with dual 15” subs at a minimum, that room is huge! I would also go with a refurbished model receiver that is a couple years old, to free up some of the budget, and get a 3 or 5 channel amplifier. I usually think upper end receivers are enough to drive Klipsch Reference speakers but due to the size of that room, I would imagine even the top receivers will be strained, driving 5 + speakers at level to fill a space that size.
  16. I would think that you wouldn’t notice much of a difference, once everything has been properly calibrated. I vote keep them as I loved my RF-62 II’s as surrounds with my 63’s. Yes, that deal in Tulsa would be I’m my car already, if I wasn’t in Seattle:/ That is a killer setup for an excellent price!
  17. That little tube amp is cool, congrats! I might have to sell my Sansui 5000a, and pick one of these amps up.
  18. The Reference II line always seemed to be brighter than the RF-63’s that I owned. I honestly believe the 3 woofer Reference Klipsch speakers were underrated but not by the people that own or have owned them. I still keep my eyes peeled for 83’s or 63’s on the used market but they are on the rare side, like the RB-75.
  19. Gutter trash😂 Try the scene in the newest Rambo, when he gets into that truck with the machine gun mounted in the bed. That scene has some spectacular mid-bass!
  20. Like I said on the first page of this thread, the OP will need to make this decision on his own. Start with a quality receiver, add a couple powered subwoofers and if you feel you are lacking anything, add an external amplifier. Too many people state facts, when discussing a subjective subject matter like sound and what sounds “best”. Many members here have gone with and without external amplification, like myself, and sometimes the difference in sound is negligible if there is even a difference at all. And yes, I am using a 7 channel amplifier with a Denon receiver at the moment currently. Just because some manufactures make $800 + speaker cables, doesn’t mean that you are going to hear a difference over a $20 speaker cable. Your brain will try to tell your ears that there is a difference in sound, in turn trying to justify your purchase but actual audible differences are a whole other story. I do do agree if you move way up the audio food-chain, a dedicated processor and amp combo would be the preferred route. I just don’t think adding a $4k amplifier to $2k speakers is going to make a “night and day” difference to the vast majority of people here. Try a quality receiver first, not happy, add an amp.
  21. I have purchased 3 higher end, refurbished, receivers from accessories4less and never had a single issue with any of them. Buy with confidence!
  22. I was also considering the Sixes, when I was shopping for my office but then I kept reading about issues with so many other Klipsch products with on-board electronics. The lack of support the poor HD Wireless people seem to be getting, certainly didn’t hurt my decision to stick with non-powered Klipsch speakers.
  23. Congratulations on the new gear! Great looking and I’m sure sounding room!
  24. All three of those centers are very good but I would narrow the choices to the RC-35 and RC-62 because they have 6” woofers. This is an ongoing debate around these parts but I am in the camp that I want my front 3 speakers to be the same, or as close to the same as possible.
