Doesnt look like a 4in driver in the pics?? Wouldnt a 4in driver require a much bigger horn than the pictures show?? Is it a 4in cone driver or some type of dome midrange?? Seems very promising, cant wait for them to come out. These have the potential to be the best Klispch speaker ever made. They better put some decnt binding post on them and some decent footers for the price they are asking. i sstill cant believe the crap they use on the RF-7's. ---------------- They may be using the new B&C driver (DE 1050) a 4" diaphragm, and a 2" throat. List is 586 Euros. http://www.bcspeakers.com/index.php?sez=1&categoria=4&id_descrizione=46&prodotto=174
  2. That leaves out the new Atlas driver. So Dana, you could try this out (could be what Klipsch is planning to use on the Premire series too. Handles 280 watts continuous. http://www.bcspeakers.com/index.php?sez=1&categoria=4&id_descrizione=46&prodotto=174 It's 568 Euros though. They just sent me the new price list. Marvel
  3. Maron, I fully understand that. But a lot of people seem to be pretty happy using that driver in a two way. I am going to try it on something as well, and may have to resort to a three way. Marvel
  4. I shouldn't have sold the 3/4 size Gibson electric hollowbody for $100 with brown pink plush case, since I've never seen it in ANY of the Gibson guitar collection books. Marvel
  5. Big D, You might remember me asking about the JBL 2426H. JBL used/uses this one inch driver in some two ways they make, I can be crossed at 500Hz, with a derating to 20watts. Although still in production, and expensive, they can be had for under $200 each. PE sells them, so you could look up the specs on them. If you are crossing at 700Hz with an ESN, they should be fine. Marvel
  6. I don't dislike it at all. I could see it fitting in quite well in certain decor. I would perhaps change the grill clothe. Marvel
  7. Tube Cad Journal. This is excellent, and you can most of the stuff online. Some is posted as PDFs, so you can save them, print them out and place in a notebook for reference. Like late at night when you want to read something before you fall asleep... http://www.tubecad.com/ Mostly guitar amp related, but this has some great info and explanations: http://geofex.com/tubeampfaq/taffram.htm Link on the tube depot's website explans bias pretty well: http://www.tubedepot.com/whisbipo.html
  8. Peter, Yeah I missed it. That's what I get for trying to work and read this stuff at the same time.
  9. No one mentioned that the reason the horns were moved to the front of the baffle (as all the new ones are) was to cut down on the diffraction caused by the 3/4" cutout. Some don't even notice a difference, but best practice would be to have them front mounted. Marvel
  10. There are many on here who have built their own cabinets, but each Khorn cab has over 50 pieces, many with compound angles. It isn't an easy build. This is why more have built Cornwalls and La Scalas instead. There are various plans floaing around for the Khorn. Darrell (who built his own Jubilee cabinets) has built some. DeanG has a pair of the new ones, so he can give an answer to the quality of the new ones.
  11. If you are running unbalanced, you have to have the shield connected on both ends.
  12. And transformers from RS will have what kind of freq. response? If you want transformers that will work, get some Jensens (or Lundahls). http://www.jensen-transformers.com/ But the price varies from $35 to over $100 each. You can buy little boxes to do the same thing, with active electronics, for less. With the right cable, you can run long distances unbalanced.
  13. It has: two aux inputs two phono inputs pre out and power in connections for two sets of speakers. mute adjust pot antenna connections I can't remmeber the rest, as I dropped it off at a friend's house in Atlanta yesterday. Marvel
  14. MS Word generates some of the worst HTML code ever. MS should really remove that 'feature' from the program. I usually use ConTEXT, by a guy in Croatia. Great text editor, with many, many templates for syntax highlighting. It works great, allowing multiple files to be open with tabs across the top of the page. Al, you might like it too. http://www.context.cx/ Nice looking cabinets. Marvel
  15. It's just an example that Kelly put in on his website. Email him and ask him to change it. It doesn't change how Klipsch assigned the SN.
  16. That's okay by me. An acquaintance of mine had a situation where his young daughter sat on a copperhead. The copperhead wasn't pleased, to say the least. Marvel
  17. One of the best distros for Linux is Ubuntu. It is based on Debian, which is far more strict about what goes where on your HD. The nice thing about any Debian distro is that you can install the first release, and upgrade to the newest with just a few keystrokes. Try doing that from Windows 3.0 to XP. It isn't going to happen. But it is still user surly software. I have been trying off and on to get a multitrack audio app to install and run correctly. It just isn't happening. For all the stones we can throw at Bill Gates and Microsoft, he (as well as Apple) has made computing easy for the rest of us. Marvel
  18. It keeps going because he keeps getting different equipment.
  19. This is what I was looking for originally when I was going to repair the surrounds on a set of JBL woofers I used Weldbond per DJKs's advice, and they are working great. One part RTV - non corrosive, by GE: RTV
  20. Wayne Parham has been around for quite awhile. He has always had the idea that if the parts are very good, the speakers will sound good. He will email plans to you so you can build your own. He also sells kits and finished systems. There are also quite a lot of folks who love his stuff.
  21. Do a google search on Greek Masks. I'm sure you will come up with something useful. I just tried it and got soem links that would probably work, but you might as well do it yourself. It will be just as quick.
  22. By twin powered, it means they have separate power supplies for each channel. They seem to sound more solid with more poewr than their actual WPC rating. For a while, you could get them easily under $50, but even at $100 they are a nice receiver. I just got a 730 from someone on the forum, and paid him $100. I think the 430 has only one aux and one phono to go with the other inputs. Mine has two aux and two phono inputs. The higher number x30s have more power as well. They look clean and sound great. If you get one for under $50, you can't go wrong. I am still very happy woth the one I got although I paid more. Marvel
  23. A pair of these just sold recently on eBay for under $300. They were two way models with the tweeter mounted on the woofer. EV Aristocrats
  24. Chris, I'm curious as to what you paid for them. Unless it's a secret.
  25. So... with a little arm twisting, Marvel sets out to get a spreadsheet set up to get this in some form of chart. My little information is dangerous. We haven't even touched on crossovers for these models. I'm not touchin' the Khorn, Belle, Cornwall, KG, Tangent, Synergy, RF....
