  1. I agree with this. Makes you wonder why when someone buys one or the other, they say that it destroys the other. I'm guessing different subs work better in different rooms like the guy above me said. Still waiting on my SW-115...hopefully today or tomorrow...
  2. I want a new TV myself. Probably going to go with a 65" tho. I would love to get a projector, but just don't really have the room for it in this house.
  3. Everything that I've read about the 818 has people excited, most notably the inclusion of audyssey multeq xt32. I haven't looked too much into exactly what that means, but apparently it's something pretty sweet =^P Unless someone talks me out of it and talks me into something 'better', it's most likely the one I will be getting. I'm just not ready to go for amps/preamps yet.

Yes. Both Blu-Ray and DVD versions are available rather quickly. I have Netflix as well but their idea of new releases is a disapointment. Streaming is a great convenience but nothing beats a disc for surround sound and picture quality. Plus, for 1.50 fee for a blu-ray rental, I don't mind the 1.5 mile round trip. Good to know. I didn't know that the movies were so cheap from there. I totally agree with you on the disc being better for picture/sound. I've been getting as many blurays as I can from netflix.
  5. I would have done the same thing, unless she was going to be dancing on my pole later...I don't have near as expensive stuff as that, but if people even get too near my technics turntables, I'm quick to freak out.
  6. If they want people's information that bad, why don't they start out with a more realistice sum of money. Hey, you just won $100! I think more people would go for that than 3 million...

That doesn't sound like a bad deal. Do they get new releases when they come out? I personally just use Netflix for now and there is plenty of content on there to suit me fine. I used to download all of the new releases when I lived in England, but my current ISP is in cahoots with the movie studios and my wife already got 1 nasty email about a movie she downloaded, so we've pretty much stopped that...
  8. I could see the benefit in some setups. I suppose it depends on what kind of speakers you are running. As the guy above me basically said, it seems pretty pointless to run extra power to the lower end in the fronts if you are just going to cut it off with the crossover. If I had a 9.2 receiver, I'd probably try it out and play around with the crossover points to see if I can get a little more out of the fronts tho.
  9. Mine should be here on Monday or Tuesday...
  10. ^^^What he said. I just got the 82s and 62, and I personally think it sounds great.
  11. That's just silly since most speakers can't even reproduce that...
  12. Whoops...good catch =^P Fixing now~

    7.1 MOVIE LIST

    http://www.dolby.com/us/en/consumer/content/movie/release/dolby-surround-7-1-movies.html
  14. This is probably a silly question, but I'm too lazy to look it up. Does PS3 play SACD? I wouldn't mind getting a couple of these listed in here. I just looked at amazon, and I'm surprised nobody in here mentioned Pet Sounds. That's gotta be good.
  15. Hmmm...Might have to give it another watch with the new system...
  16. I just added it to my netflix. I really wish I would have went to this when I was living in England, but the only play I made it to was Wicked, which was very good.

    Sucker Punch

I watched sucker punch...I wouldn't say it's the worst movie ever but the only thing that kept me watching it were the females in skimpy clothing...
  18. I gotcha, I'm just a bit defensive since people are always saying how much better everyone else's subs are =^P
  19. Or you can wait for about a month and look at the new Onkyos coming out. With the money you will be saving on the speakers, you should be able to go with the 818 that's about to be released =^) That's the one I'm looking at myself. One of the sellers of the speakers I contacted wouldn't even email me a quote, I had to call him because he said something about not being able to email the prices. He was actually the cheapest quote I had found overall, but the shipping wasn't free so that killed the deal. It was Mike over at AVS sales. If you are closer to their facility, the shipping might not be as much, so he's one to check with too. AVS just became an authorized dealer, check the Klipsch owner thread over there to find his info.
  20. I had never heard of it either, but even better that it works for multiple rooms. Thanks for the heads up =^)
  21. That seems pretty umm....epic? =^P
  22. I think part of that price was because I was purchasing a whole system as a package. I'm actually a little worried it's going to be too much. I have a Harmon Kardon 200W 10" sub that came with the HKTS18 surround I used to use and that thing is actually pretty good (at least as being loud in my house). I can't imagine what this Klipsch 400W 15" sub is going to sound like... This seems like sarcasm...although I don't know know much about Epik Empire subs...
  23. Congrats on the new TV. That's the next step in my home theatre. Gotta wait until black friday tho...Mostly because I just spent all my money on the surround system =^P
  24. Because on Amazon, they are selling the rest of the speakers at MSRP so they can afford to throw in a $300-$400 sub for free. They are still making a huge profit on that package. I was wondering that myself and then I contacted the sellers and got way better quotes on the whole package. Sorry for the multiple posts, I just read the whole thread =^P
  25. I actually found the best price at audioholics for my package (the quote mentioned in my first post). Look through the links because not all of them sell the reference line.
