  1. RF-5's came with the wire jumpers. OK. [Y]
  2. They have the older bash amps but that is an amazing deal. This would be all you would need $800 and your done make it happen lol. I really do want the Sledge amp. Plus, I can't spend any big money until next year. In the middle of a bathroom remode, then need to save for the holidays. I will be buying some RS-62's in August, though. Need to get my surround going.
  3. Correct. They are the same ones that are used on the RC-7 and several other Klipsch Speakers. It's a red and black wire with U clips (not sure what they call them) on the ends. Do you need the wire ones or the solid metal ones?
  4. There are 2 PC13-Ultras for sale on AVS for $800.
  5. That's a very good question. I have my SVS at 12db per octave and my OPPO at 6db per octave. I don't think it's a bad thing to use different slopes. However, a measuring device will definitely tell you if there is a problem. My sub is at 40Hz and OPPO is at 80Hz. It sounded better once I put the sub down to 40Hz. I still need to get my REW working so I can measure/adjust my xo points. I'm pretty sure there's a big dip in the 40 to 80Hz range.
  6. DeanG (AlethiaAudio) and ALK (he's on Dean's Facebook page). They do crossovers. Not sure about tweeters.
  7. I don't suppose they are like the jumpers on the back of some of the 1970" era recceivers? If so I should ba able to check Tuesday when I go to Eugene Or. May be able to get them for free, but if not free, should be cheap. Probably less than postage. .................................................................................................................Taz I think he's looking for the straps the go from LF inputs to the HF terminals.
  8. From the ad: For Sale: Due to a car accident I have to part with my golden child. This thing is no joke and is not for the one direction crowd. If you know audio you know what your looking at and I would LOVE to audition this dream for you. I have a set of Klipsch KM6s to go with it as well for $300 O.B.O YAQIN MS-20L Push-Pull Class-A Integrated Stereo Vacuum Tube Amplifier Specifications · Tubes: EL34B × 4 (Output Tubes) 6J1 × 8 (Voltage amplifiers and drivers) · Maximum Output: 50W per channel (8Ω) · Output Jacks: Two channels with two groups of gold plated jacks · Output Impedance: 4Ω - 8Ω · Earphone Impedance: 32Ω · Input Sensitivity: 0.25V (1KHz) · Input Jacks: Four groups of gold plated isolated RCA jacks (AUX1 -- AUX4) · Distortion of Harmonic Wave: ≤1.6% (at 1KHz) · Frequency Response: 5Hz ~ 75KHz · Signal-to-Noise Ratio: >88dB (A Weight) · Remote Controller: Infrared control and powered by 2 AAA batteries · Supply Voltage: AC 115V, 60Hz · Power Consumption: 180W · Dimension: 32cm(W) x 42cm(D) x 21cm(H) · Net Weight: 19kg · Shipping Dimension: 58cm x 46cm x 36cm · Shipping Weight: 24kg Features · The latest version of EL34 output amplifier from Yaqin; · Infrared remote control for volume adjustment and input selections; · TR/UL (Triode and Ultra Linear modes) switches on the front panel; · Earphone jack on the front panel; · External bias adjustment; · High DC voltage delay circuit to protect tubes; · Class A push-pull power amplifier to reduce distortion; · Output transformers manufactured with Japanese silicon steel sheet and high-quality enamelled wire, which offer a wide dynamic range at full rated output; · Utilizes the audiophile capacitors and high quality metal precision resistors dedicated for audio frequency; · Applies special potentiometer as volume controller with low noise, and durable; · Beautiful heavy duty chassis. 9. When I lived in Vegas in the early 80's, our A/C went out. It was about 112/113. All of the candles in the house melted. Fun times.
  10. Welcome to the Forums! More than likely it's amp that died. Might give Klipsch a call to see what they can do/recommend. There's a guy on ebay that repairs these amps. You might also look into the fan modification to help cool down the amp while playing it. Not sure if it's the same guy or not. Good luck!
  11. Did you spit-shine the speakers? I bet that would look awesome!
  12. Welcome to the Forums! You would definitely benefit from an amp with a little more power. RF-7 II's really like power. How big is your room? Are you only going to use it for 2/ch or go to 5.1/7.1? Budget?
  13. I'm sure the steak would've sounded good, too!
  14. That was like last year or sumthin. Forever in new equipment time. [] Next place I live will most definitely have 2 nice corners in it. I'll leave the closets in the bedrooms. []
  15. There is a picture on these Forums somewhere that shows how the La Scala is put together. There is a door on the bottom of the speaker (some have the door under the midrange) that gives you access to the woofer. Not sure at what point they mount the woofer in there. I'm pretty sure the wood pieces are prepped with the finish befoer the speakers are built. For many years the finish was raw birch plywood with no finish on them. Later, they received a wood veneer finish. No. La Scala bass bins are just that...the bottom half of the speaker with a woofer in it. Nothing on top. Well, maybe a plant. []
  16. Welcome to the Forums! It's just a pain in the tokhes to get back there. Just takes patience to get back there. FYI...the lower part of the La Scala, where the woofer is, is call the Doghouse. They actually have La Scala bass bins where there is no top section containing the tweeter and midrange.
  17. I know I will be upgrading my crossovers. I just don't have the speakers that his crossover will fit.
  18. That is an interesting observation. I really get the "there" part. I've heard Klipschorns before. The "detail" of the sound coming from them makes you feel like you are "right there" in the middle of the instruments. It makes the instruments "come alive."
  19. Sorry, everyone. My gf just told me that the song I referenced is not called "Proud to be an American." It's "God Bless the USA." [:$]
  20. From the ad: Amazing Sound! These Vintage Heresy I Speakers both have the original Serial Number Tags and are in excellent condition! The Sound Quality of these speakers is Legendary! Great bass, mid-range and tweeters, sound is crisp and clear! Dated 1980. http://rochester.craigslist.org/ele/3893992324.html No Affiliation
  21. Three Chorus II's across the front would be an awesome setup.
  22. Khactuyen, Ian's suggestion of the Outlaw Audio amp is a solid choice. As a matter of fact, Outlaw amps are mfr'd by ATI and their products share some of the same parts and design topography. I think the ATI AT3000 is close to the same amp as the Outlaw Audio Model 7900. Bill I didn't realize that ATI made Outlaw amps. I just love my ATI amp.
  23. Not a problem at all. I really couldn't sell my KT-SW, so I parted it out. PM sent.
  24. I have a KD-18-K out of a KT-SW instead of the KD-16 for the Chorus II. Yours for the price of shipping, if interested.
  25. Already sent. Just posting to acknowledge. Who knows...maybe one day I will get into tubes.
