  2. I have no idea if these are designed right or what woofers are in the cabinets. Though not necessary, the bottoms are curved, which is a good sign for the design. I do have a pair similar to the ones in the ad. Mine have 15" EVs. They aren't made for 'sub' woofer Hz, but they do produce a lot of solid bass. If I were in the area and if I wanted some more bass, and for the price, I would check them out. "DJ speakers with power" ^^^the ad ^^^
  3. Deep Purple without Ritchie Blackmore is Weak Purple - oldbuckster 😊
  4. I'll step aside... they're too far north for me.
  5. I might know someone who knows someone who heard that someone might be going there and could maybe help bring them halfway there, maybe.
  6. From the ad: "The infamous Klipsch kg4 – where big sound meets speakers that make other systems question their life choices. This bad boy packs a punch that would make even larger speakers blush with envy. The input panel of the kg4 is like the VIP section of speaker parties, rubbing shoulders with the crossover network like they're the power duo of the audio world. And, there's more! The Klipsch advanced circuitry is like the superhero cape for your tweeter, shielding it from overdriven or clipping amplifiers like a bouncer at a nightclub. Because when it comes to audio, these guys take protecting your speakers seriously – like the bodyguards of the soundwave world. Step aside, potential damage, the kg4 is here to keep the party rocking without any casualties." Here is the ad
  7. the Altec Model 19 cant be compared to a Lascala -Khorn or even a Cornwall , it was basically a large 70's studio monitor with veneer and grilles A fine example of the condescending remark telling others what they can or can't do. Your statement about the Altec 19 diminishes your credibility. Do you remember what someone said to you about getting more bees with honey in the LaScala resonance thread?
  8. Thanks and you're right. I wish that I had more time to listen to these. I feel guilty having them here knowing that someone should be enjoying them. Road trip.
  9. I don't know. What I don't need is more stereo stuff, motorcycles, cold weather, or cats. Although I don't need anything, I would consider a trade/partial trade for something with a name such as Kimber, Dan Wesson, Colt, or something along those lines.
  10. Although I have never ABed them, I have read a lot about the Altec 19 vs Klipsch's offerings. The earlier Cornwall didn't have a large enough horn to compete with the 19, BUT I'd like to hear the new Cornwall vs the 19. The LaScala didn't dig as deep as the 19, but still, some liked the LaScala better. The real battle was when the Khorn vs the 19 were pitted against one another. Both were top-shelf offerings from each company for domestic use. A lot of good reading out there with points for each side. IIRC, the Khorn digs deeper and has great sound. The 19 are not so placement-sensitive and come ready to rumble. At the end of it all, when the Khorn is placed properly in the corners of a large room, they smoke the Altec 19. The speakers I always wanted to pit against my Khorns are the Electro Voice Sentry III.
  11. The answer might be within your post. I noticed that post real early this morning and gave him a pass lol
  12. I have for sale a pair of black RB75 that are in good condition. The grills look to be perfect; the cabinets have a couple of small rubbed places, and one woofer has two small deformations, the pictures show the worst places. Due to the weight of the horn drivers, several of these have had damaged horns while being shipped and there are no replacement parts. Because of the risk of damage, I prefer local pick-up (~15 miles from Lexington KY), plus it affords the buyer the opportunity to listen to them first. I am willing to remove the drivers and pack everything for free, but not the shipping cost. <edit> I have had these since 2016 or 2017. I am not using them and am passing them along so someone can enjoy what they offer.
  13. Yes. It was dark and I was scrambling. I happened to have a ~ 12" long x 5/8" drill bit handy.. Drilled for all it was worth, no water. Grabbed a pick and dug back a foot or more, cut the PVC pile, and drilled again and struck water that time. I will make a few changes. lol IKR
  14. The skills through the three-tiered approach: see one, do one, teach one, are done best without the distractions of the words that end in y, such as hungry, thirsty, angry, ho..... well, you get the point.
  15. Just telling the truth the best that I can. Lucky you. My first ones were on Heresy II, the ones in which the whole networks are on the little round terminal caps.
  16. Yeah, new empty houses to plumb are more urgent than ones occupied. I would bet that someone will be looking to find a new plumber.
  17. For years, people have tried to get you to stop posting false information and criticizing other people's work. There is a reason that Klipsch, by way of JEM, sells new capacitors and complete crossovers and it's not because of a myth. This type of condescension is killing this forum which used to be an excellent forum for Klipsch enthusiasts and for people to get great advice. Don't you have some LaScala, Khorn, and Heresy or some other project to work on or listen to?
  18. They look great. The parts are not low-budget, nor is your work.
  19. Thanks for the closeup pictures. I have no idea how much you gave for those speakers, but you got burned. Sell them to me and save yourself some frustration. JK Those look great, real keepers.
  20. Yeah, right. Any excuse to not prove you have CF3s. The picture(s) have to be less than 2MB. If the picture is more than 2MB, you'll have to resize it. You can post them one at a time if less than 2MB individually.
  21. Speaking of a plumber: My day started as usual, I woke up too early (4 am) and I started a load of laundry first thing, right after starting some coffee. All went well until I heard water running, but differently than I would normally hear it. The washing machine's drain was clogged somewhere and the machine, on its rinse cycle, was pumping the second large load of water out and the b@$7@rd didn't care where the water went. Stopped the machine and threw down some large towels to soak some of the water that was on the floor... then it hit me that the spare kitchen downstairs was tied into the same drain. Yes, I had a mess. The laundry and spare kitchen drain is independent of the rest of the house and drains outside. The below-zero and below-freezing for the past few days froze the drain at the opening, something that hasn't happened before.
  22. Hi Pak, welcome to the forum. There will be help here, though there might be some delayed responses due to some might not see your questions very quickly. It is to your advantage to study to know who is who. As far as your crossovers, those are not stock Klipsch networks. They are your speakers and I won't tell you what to do, but if they were mine, I would leave them as they are. The workmanship looks fine. I can't read what brand the parts are, but they look okay from the picture. The sound-deadening material is not stock either. A lot of us have used similar material. Can you tell if the material is sticking to the horn with an adhesive or are the black bands the only thing holding the material on?
