  1. I can't answer your question. I will share that I believe it to be most important to not trap any air. Regardless if you use a roller or simply press it on, make sure to start in the middle and 'roll' the material out. If you do have a bubble, it would be best to poke a small hole in the matting so the air can escape and you can press the matting and adhere it to the horn.
  2. The stores were populated in the midwest, but there was one in Louisville and Lexington too. I was a kid when they had a store here (in the 70s), and left before I was an audio addict, so don't remember the place very well. I have read somewhere that Project One was their store brand, which was, supposedly, rebranded Pioneer equipment. Anyhow, they also sold EV, Klipsch, Pioneer, and such. I sure do wish that they were still here, we have nothing here either. A google search for Project One and Playback shows a small FB page and a lot of info on the site that we can't mention. Not sorry for hijacking your thread: I'm jealous. 😋
  3. There are no stores close to me that sell any Heritage either. You're from MN. Do you remember the Playback stores?
  4. There has to be a story behind your user name.
  5. As much as I'd love Paula Abdul, she'd be a H&R compared to how long I'd keep a pair of LSI. Now, if she was a natural redhead.....
  6. Are you saying that the CF4 is the CornScala?
  7. Careful of what you dwell on, it can lead to unrealistic expectations and divorce. IMHO, you're complicating something more that is complicated enough. So, you like '60s music and your family wants a HT system for movies. Almost any setup will do both, just not to a top-shelf level. Do you think that the rest of the family will notice that your system sounds closer to a HiFi system than a HT system? So, you want a system to listen to music. Have you looked at the prices of the new Cornwall IV, are those in your price range? Step back and realize that the speakers are the big ticket item, but there is more to buy. Next, what's your budget?
  8. Until we get to know something, almost everything is confusing. Instead of making a spread of statements and asking so many different questions, maybe just ask something like ~ How to get started, or what should a person buy first? State what you like to listen to, what your budget is, and the room size you hope to set up your system. I do believe that this approach will yield information from people who want to help and get you going in the right direction.
  9. You need your own experience(s). Where are you? So that you can start hearing them for yourself, you might go listen to speakers that are for sale. I wouldn't buy because of those listening sessions alone, there is a little more to learn, but it will get you started. It's a journey, not a destination.
  10. You already know that those in the right size room and properly placed and set up, one wouldn't need or want more.
  11. Only at the factory when I was there for a Pilgrimage. The new Cornwall was there along with the new Khorn. I was thinking the same thing. One will have more, and the other will dig deeper is my thought. I'm happy for you. 😎
  12. Congrats Are you making or taking any bets?
  13. That's the worst scratch? Yours aren't bad at all. My Quartets had a lot deeper scratches than that, along with the obligatory water rings and they cleaned up fantasticly. GLWYS
  14. You shouldn't try to abuse her like that. You keep it up and you'll wind up like Jake. Princess Leia was pi$$ed. (RIP Carrie Fisher)
  15. From the ad: "I believe it’s a 1963 from the model code, Works as it should, can turn on to test when you pick up. Measures 30” deep, 33”wide, 50”tall . Check pics, cabinet is not perfect, one tear in the material also. Please don’t ask if available, I will pull down the ad as it sells. It is a single speaker, not a pair. linky thing
  16. The sharing of information to help each other, the years of yearning for what they finally scored. There are a lot of posts on here showing a lot of labor and expense and their results. I miss these guys and their help. <edited by W&T>
  17. Sounds to me like he is only making a statement.
  18. You got an excellent deal. Older Polk woofer's magnet has been known to shift, pinching the voice coil and crashing the party. Careful handling them, and try to not 'jar' them.
  19. When that movie was making its splash, I was a newly single dad of 3 kids all under 4 yo. So, I was watching Lion King, Robin Hood, Pinocchio, and such. I have seen the debates of which is better: Dumb and Dumber or Wayne's World. I have watched neither. Which one gets your vote?
  20. It's 0 here at the house, the weather channel says it feels like -14 factoring in the WC.
  21. From the looks of the ground, you have been busy.
