  1. Most of us here have done similar things and said similar words.... it's a part of the journey. After a lot of moving them in, out; forward then back; toed a little this way and then that, I have made the Forte 'disappear' and made a soundstage. They are great speakers. I want to hear the Heresy 4.
  2. The sound came through very clear. Having the Heresy close together isn't good, but having them forward vs the Forte would have the two pair's sound reaching your ears at two different times. Also, those are Forte 1s? the grills are a little different than the ones I had.
  3. Welcome to the forum and congratulations on getting your Jubes. Try to overlook ______, his uncalled-for remarks are common. As you can see, there are some great members here who can and will be a lot of help dialing in your Jubes with you. By the way, we like pictures.
  4. I was hoping to see the progress of the LaScala build, but most pics are gone. Who is this hippy? Loved hearing those LaScala, great job and thanks for the info on the amps and sub(s). I am ready to order parts. Will a Milwaukee toolbox due?
  5. I don't doubt what you're saying is true. My split LaScala have the square tops which terminate in the back, but they are different. The connectors on the MCM stack are in the back, but, to me, those listed look to be too small to be the MCM's horns.
  6. Look to be split LaScala pie tops.
  7. Carl and I have talked about the F20. I weighed this one when I got home. 230 lb according to my bathroom scales, but scales are liars, even the ones in the Dr.'s office.
  8. OR the plywood. I couldn't pass it up.
  9. I see these are for sale. Are you selling or buying?
  10. I want to know what Steely Dan listens to between sets. 🧐
  11. Winner winner I have the EV DH1a on the EV HP9040 horns and the horns are a lot larger. Those are the EV HP640
  12. Thanks. The only way, that I know of, to remove light scratches is to do some light sanding. The water stains on these cabinets did not go deep, so the light sanding removed them too. I have used Bar Keepers Friend mixed to a paste to acid bleach water stains from veneer before. Google that for more info. LaScala bass bin with Dave Harris Epitrac 400 mid and Dave Ault's L-MAHL tweeter and using MC30s for power.
  13. Lacking bass and fatiguing highs made me think of room treatment and preamp.
  14. Some might find them ugly, but I like the figured woods.
  15. I made so 1.5" tall risers to protect the bottoms. (they are hurt from abuse)
  16. These were 3 states away from me and a mess, as you can see. Being that they were in StLouis and I was in central KY, I called @MookieStl to see if he could grab them for me (Thanks again Mook). He said that they were what the pictures show, but I wanted them anyway (I was hoping for the best). I'll spare you the details of what it took to get them back to being bearable. They are not perfect and still have a couple of small chipped places. I swapped out a few parts, such as the K55 on the K700 and installed the K53H on the K701 horns. I still need to get the grills mounted too.
  17. Yes, with K&N filters... jk The caps would be the old paper in oil cans. I was not able to find them and forgot to take them off of the list. They most likely looked like the ones that were in Gil's Belle.
  18. @Jeff Matthews It might be the preamp.
