  1. If your wife can put up with it, we can. Adds just a little bit of "cool factor" to the room.
  2. Looks decent for the money. I just wish they would omit the bluetooth and USB and put that $$ towards improving what a TT is supposed to do. Spin records. But then it probably wouldn't appeal to the demographic they are trying to reach. The mainstream Joe Public and the younger generation. Both of whom have never owned anything other than an iphone for music.
  3. But you have to put up with inferior sound. I guess it's all about what's most important. I can live with retubing an amp every few years for the SQ.
  4. My vote is for carpet. The more hard reflective surfaces you can avoid, the better. And there is no way that carpet alone will "overdamp" a room. I had a thin berber carpet in my listening room and when I replaced it with a high pile carpet, the acoustics improved. Wood flooring certainly looks nicer than carpet, but if acoustics are the first priority, don't go with the wood.
  5. I’m surprised he dropped 50% just like that. But good for you, and that’s more in line with their condition. I hope it works out for you and welcome to the forum.
  6. Unfortunately that seems to be the going rate for lascalas these days. Actually I’ve se them for much more.
  7. You must be a used car salesman in real life. 😏 Just kidding. You seem like a good dude offering good value. I’m sure someone will step up.
  8. If you truly want tube sound, a hybrid amp won’t get you there. It may sound good and even slightly (albeit, very slightly) different than a SS offering, it only hints at what a tube amp will bring. I think you will need to spend at least 800.00 (I’ve seen a couple of used Willsenton amps at this price) to get something that sounds decent and is reliable.
  9. Hard to tell with that guy. Sometimes you think nobody could be that obtuse. Then comes the next post and you shake your head…..
  10. @82 Cornwalls +1 However, if you are willing to bump that price up a little, I’d recommend this one. https://www.usaudiomart.com/details/650037777-integrated-tube-amplifier/
  11. I have the next model down, the Carmen II. I can tell you it's a wonderful cartridge that puts to shame many MCs. GLWS.
  12. Wow, very impressive. Now there is a serious klipsch fan.
  13. If they were at CAF, I haven't seen anything about it. There are many videos on YouTube and reports on Audiogon, but no mention of anything Heritage.
  14. Listening to a pair of speakers with no tweeters could sound as you described. As mentioned above, you need to get the backs off the LS II and take a look at the xover and possibly put an ohm meter on the tweeters. Process of elimination leads you down the road of a wiring issue and/or bad xover or bad drivers.
  15. I know by now we all know what a Freya looks like. But pictures always enhance the ad. GLWS.
  16. I have a nitty gritty that I’ve owned for years. Very basic, but does what it’s supposed to do. I use this solution. https://www.discdoc.com/
  17. 900.00 is a no brainer for a piece of history that’s been lovingly restored. If I weren’t all set in the amp dept. I’d give it a go.
  18. I had a Power 2 about 15 years ago, so that’s how I recognized it.
  19. Yeah I see it now. A sonic frontiers Power 2 on the right.
  20. You mention tube amplification but I don’t see any in the picture?
  21. I'm very sorry for your loss. I can only imagine that kind of pain. Welcome back and congrats on the room. Looks like you've got the beginnings of a great system.
