  1. I have the 1.2. It does a great job with timing and smoothness. Sounds very spacious. It's a teeny bit warm and doesn't prioritize extreme detail the way that I would prefer, but it mates well with my Adcom. I've been wondering if the new DragonFly Red will offer the clinical detail reproduction that I desire.
  2. I only grab quarters or higher. Anything less isn't worth the mileage on my back.
  3. What is it about every KSP thread that leads to bickering?
  4. They look like 20's because the woofers are roughly the same size as the mid horn. The 30's woofers look noticeably larger than the mid horn.
  5. I was honestly just about to do that. Just thought I would give my forum buddies first shot.
  6. Why the heck do I still have these?
  7. Bump Changed the pics to better ones and reduced price!
  8. Pair of RB-75, Cherry finish, excellent condition. One small, shallow scratch. Not desperate to sell and I think we all know what these are worth. $600 + shipping
  9. Maybe this should be brought to the attention of IbizaFlame?? I don't know if anybody's noticed, but he was upset after a discussion with Keith about KSP-400s and hasn't been back since. The kid had nearly 3,000 posts and more than 1,000 likes. That's a pretty good ratio and a seemingly worthwhile member of the community. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/164434-ksp-400-vs-kg4/#entry2027149
  10. That's just because they're new. Heresy has never been exactly cheap. Also, Heresy III has titanium tweeter driver.
  11. To me, low bitrates affect sounds farther out in the soundstage more than those in the center. I listen to a lot of rock, and the full, wide-field stereo guitar sound is affected the most. It literally becomes garbled and wobbly sounding. Sometimes almost like it's underwater.
  12. I'm a fan of the RF-3, but Forte II wins that battle too. RF-3 sounds tighter and faster with less cabinet noise, but the Forte wins with that giant tractrix midrange horn.
  13. So you would prefer the 400 over the 500? Is it mainly due to the ports vs radiator?
  14. Why do the Tangents go do cheaply?? Wouldn't a T500 perform as well, or better, than Heresy?
  15. I've always been interested in the T5000, possibly just because they're so rare. What's the difference between the 500 and 5000??
  16. Yeah? Yup, the new horn on the RP series is a huge improvement. And, although the 160m has a smaller 6.5" woofer, the cabinet is deeper and bass extension is just as good as the RB-81. Also, I personally prefer rear-ported cabinets. They always sound better to me. Aside from the 81 being a bit more efficient, I can't think of a single category of sound where the 81 wins.
  17. Yep, they're one of the best models I ever had. I wouldn't say I'm hunting though...just waiting for them to find me again.
  18. Sweet deal. Wish that was closer to me.
  19. They hold up extremely well. I, for one, prefer the RF-35 over the succeeding RF-82 and the following RF-82ii. I don't feel like you would be gaining a single thing by buying a newer used model. The RF-35s are fantastic and very underrated!
  20. I can chime in here and say that, while the RB-5s are fine speakers, they would not be a good match. The voicing is very different. Also, they're rear ported. If you're using this system mostly for HT, I think the RB-81s will match well enough. They won't deliver the thick, detailed midrange that the RB-75 has, but voicing will be similar and they're just nice, high output bookshelf speakers. I doubt you'd be disappointed. Also, take a look around for RB-35s. Voicing will be a bit different, but still a solid, front-ported model and a better match than RB-5.
  21. I just bought a used kmc3 for $150. I'm very pleased with it. Bass is a bit strong, but friends and guests seem to like it.
