    R-115SW :)))

I would love that, my friend. If you ever venture near the MidMo area, give me a shout. I will do likewise when in KC will do. got you on my list as well as jiminstl. Looking forward to it!!!
  2. ^ Yup. That is what I have--30s up front, 20s as rears, and C7 center. My 10s are downstairs, in my home office. Love the speakers, and the advertised price is excellent value, IMO.
  3. ^ Yeah, I was just thinking that "delivery assistance" might involve a location that you really would like to visit for enjoyment/vacation purposes, maybe some "room at the inn" might help grease the skids, ha ha.
  4. Hey, Opus, is more than "a few hours", however, if you need a stopping-over place overnight, I'm near St. Louis!
  5. " I might switch to that insstead of Outlook" Take a look at eM Client. You may like it a lot vs Outlook.
  6. tigerwoodKhorns and others, Like you, I use Windows 7 and REALLY want to change to a Linux variant (Mint Mate 17.1? or Cinnamon?). I also have a small home office environment, where I do the normal things w/ the internet and email, use Office 2013 (do not have exotic or extraordinary uses for the programs therein), and a number of insurance-related programs that I have downloaded and use from my desktop. I like the arrangement just fine. However, as mentioned, I really would like to leave Windows and Office behind. Further, as my wife's computer is having a variety of problems, I am looking at changes/new there, and would like to have as much commonality between us as possible, as she will be joining me in my efforts. What are your opinions about how well one of the Linux OSs above would work/not work for us? What about a dual-boot possibility, if necessary or desirable? Surely will appreciate the experience and suggestions forthcoming!
  7. Help? Anybody know how best to address a blown power board on one of my Synergy F-2 tower speaker? The part # is 116649. Have a blown one, and need to get a replacement. Probably not even using its proper name, but seems to be the board at the bottom of the speaker, which is not transmitting to the tweeter. Do you suggest I order it from Klipsch, or simply online? Thanks for any help!
  8. Judging by the rich color of the grass, I would say that Syracuse must be absolutely delightful this time of year! People in Florida may consider a reverse migration.
  9. Permitted here? To say how great is our God! How loving and merciful; He who finds so many ways to work good from what may appear to be rotten circumstances.
  10. Joe, Thank you for letting your Forum family members know of your loss and your pain. There are many good people here who will take a little piece of that on with you. And, meanwhile, it need not be a one-time mention or expression, either. I'll bet your wife would encourage you to continue listening to the music that moves your soul . . . . Jim
  11. Corn? I remember living in Germany, 10 years after the war ended. Still a lot of rubble on the ground. My parents (father a U S Navy Captain) befriended a German baron and his wife. They were over at our quarters one evening in January for dinner, and my mother made the mistake of serving them corn. They ate it, but could not shut down the impulse to let their distaste be known--corn was only fed to pigs! Of course, later in the meal, at dessert, he also was mumbling audibly about the "capitalist strawberries" that were part of the dessert menu. It was January, in Germany, after all, and California was no where in sight for such decadent things.
  12. Gychang, Welcome! And I hope that you find what will please you greatly with some Klipsch speakers. The Synergy F-3 towers were my first Klipsch, other than an RC-3 center channel speaker. I found them very pleasant to listen to! I have purchased nearly ALL of my audio equipment through that means. Not to say that you shouldn't be very careful, but there are many wonderful deals there. Or, you can get some very fine prices from various online sources, such as Newegg, and others. They run specials that are worth your patience. Best of luck, and let us know what you decide.
  13. And, Scrappy, my hat's off to that strong wife of yours, too--USMC. Oorah all the way!!!
  14. Scrappy can relate to the Navy story above!
  15. Doggone, Scrappy! Surely want to meet you and offer you the hospitality of the house. My wife has called it a night. Are you heading back to KC now? This weather and the driving conditions soon upon us are nothing to take lightly!!!
  16. ^^ Hope you absolutely love your use of your equipment! A "little" trip down memory lane for me.
  17. Gosh!!! Absolutely beautiful and fantastic! Does anyone still "just" listen to music anymore? May I repeat a story I posted a while ago? I remember back in 1970-71, as a young Naval officer finishing up 10 mos aboard ship in the Med. Amphibious ships in the squadron, carrying Marines for potential duty in any kind of landing or other action. Anyway, we had a 1st LT Marine officer from Brooklyn. Very Italian last name, and 2nd generation upbringing from his Italian father. We did the usual things of buying all the stereo receivers, tape decks, turntables, speakers (and booze) that was priced very right. He made his audio purchases, and we were talking about them in the wardroom over lunch one day. I can still hear the man (we changed/shortened the last name to "Cockroach") saying, “But, I can already hear what my Pop is gonna say . . . (hands and arms thrown up in the air), "You already got a Victrola!”

    Sold

Henry, may be late to the party, but why are you selling the Z11? I know it is a very fine receiver! FWIW, I just listed my Z9 (in St. Louis) for sale on CL. Not sure I am doing the right thing at all . . . . Welcome your thoughts.
  19. Bryson lists his phone # for an inquiry if anyone interested.
  20. GPB, thanks for the excellent explanation! It provides some drilled-down detail and focus, as well as context in a larger/relational setting. Good job!
