  1. Well here is my home theater ;D
  2. Yeah the forced upgrades are causing trouble for some of my MCAD peers. My design program recommends you delay upgrades as long as possible to test them on a few systems first but when they do MS is ready for the next upgrade before they can roll the first one out to all PC's. It is one of the reasons my design boxes never go online. The only way to insulate yourself from MS stupidity. Unfortunately most design programs will not work on Linux so we are stuck.
  3. Judging by what is marked on that board I think it may have been designed for more than one speaker and components changed to suit.
  4. Even S&D coffee went south. My favorite coffee of all time was their Costa Rican but they got bought out and now their stuff is awful.
  5. The PC crowd is busy improving it. I have relatives who are part of that group from Davidson College and they have very strange ideas about what should work. She wrote a book once on how to raise children. The problem is she never had any to raise so how would she know what to do? Now they are busy helping Charlotte learn how to behave with the same results that mindset gets where ever it gains control. They were so disappointed over the behavior of certain groups during the riots and don't understand they helped create the monster they are saddened by.
  6. You need to invite some over for dinner. I remember in the late 70's when these were still protected birds. Then they started breeding like crazy and whole golf courses in SE Michigan became unusable at times every year from prodigious and copious mounds of crap every where. Here in southern Tn they are in every body of water bigger then a puddle. And it is Canadians EH! I count 11 meals there so get busy
  7. They beat them up and don't break a sweat doing it.
  8. I remember cartons of filtered Kool's for $3.60. My first new car a Hornet Hatchback $2,600 out the door and loans did not go over 2 years. No bearing on today's cost other than to point out how governments repudiate debt through inflation.
  9. Well of course! 8oz once in the morning and afternoon on their 5 minute break and 16oz on their 15 minute lunch hour. Entirely too much trouble and expense to hook up the gravity flow spring to waste all that water for no reason.
  10. This is to be a purely temporary one day solution with my laptop. Nothing in the shop is allowed online.
  11. Marketing failure is the only reason for lack of market penetration. I sold a set of Chorus I's not to long ago and the buyer had the original boxes for them and was the original buyer from Nashvilles Hi-Fi Buys. Here in Music City USA Hi-Fi Buys is the only remaining "high end" audio store. They sold Klipsch at one time but today it is B&W garbage up to $22,000.00 on the floor and so pathetic compared to Klipsch you have to hear it to believe someone wants that kind of money for so-so. Best Buys has the largest local Nashville presence I know of and they have no idea what Klipsch does nor do the sales people care. Of course they also do not have any of the good or better gear there either surprise surprise. Klipsch reminds me of the MCAD software I use for design. Chosen after looking at the Big Name stuff and selected for it's superior modeling capabilities. It is also know as the "Best Software You've Never Heard Of" since there is no serious marketing. Two companies I chose to support because of quality and capabilities and neither give a flip about marketing. Almost like they are afraid of success. Sometimes marketing spots are filled with people who are terrified to do anything or take a gamble because as long as sales don't fall off a cliff their job is safe. If you don't try to spend money marketing in ways "not traditionally done" by corporate accepted culture you won't be fired. I have seen many good people corrupted by good wages turn into don't rock the boat droids. My personal dealing with marketing departments has always disgusted me. I don't know what Klipsch's problem is in this area but there is one.
  12. Except for the poor souls who went insane from it and never came back which fortunately is pretty rare. Very scary thing to see.
  13. At the very least it is all forward motion now.
  14. The problem with Xilica is the terrible documentation. Once you have someone walk you through it then you can figure it out from there since there is logic to where you will find what you need. He helped me set up the Xilica today with inputs and outputs with the entries needed to at least get going. I still have to get internet out there so we can look at doing REW but for now I can finally get to that point.
  15. Well balancing output will be done with soon with a xilica so that does not enter into the picture at all. Running off a set of AA crossovers and then doing room EQ through a DBX driverack also seems to work pretty good at taming any imbalance.
  16. In addition it is sitting on a pallet so I can move it around it I have to so add 4 more inches. When you sit in a standard roll around office chair the center of the 402 is almost the same height as my ears are sitting in that chair so nothing further needed. I found with the double MWM bin I had to tilt the 402 forward a bit because it was too tall. Hey with FOUR bins I could do earthquake simulations though so there is that.

    What I Got Today!

KP-201 Bought and cleaned up. Finest set I have ever seen in person. Recapped and they sound REALLY nice.
  18. It seems like women of any group love hot water and lengthy baths and look on males who just wish to become clean as some sort of alien life form. I find this is true looking at my garden to which is being taken over and turned into a bath tub.
  19. I am just now entering the world of measurements and DSP and active crossovers so if someone wants to instruct me over the phone on what to do I will give it a shot. Things are kind of on hold right now since I need to get internet to the shop to be able to email screen captures to tutors. Going past simple crossovers with no one here to walk me through this one has been frustrating. Hmmm, are you saying I need to make one that does?
  20. Oddly enough something is perceptible at 20hz and while you can't hear it you can begin to feel it and by 25hz hear and feel but it is way down in db output. I have a pair of K-33's here I might switch out to just to see what happens. I think I need a good thunderstorm recording to play for victims that stop in. The right answer is I don't need any MORE subs.
  21. Wish does not make bigger be less nor smaller more😉 Buy some plywood and get out that saw.
  22. Playing further with this and using Audacity for tone generation I find this thing goes down to a solid 27 to 28hz and by 30hz the whole building is moving. Playing Pink Floyd last night and being amazed at how many underlying bass tracks I had been missing with the MWM bins.
