What type of music do you listen to and at what volume level?

I’ll bet you can’t turn the volume to 9 o’clock without waking up the neighborhood. I had an M-85. Wish I would have kept it.

Another Hoosier! That’s great! I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a ST-125 either. I’ve experienced a very similar sound with the newer BK amps as I did with my ST-140. I’ve never had any reliability issues out of any of their gear. If you get a chance, try pairing it with a BK pro-5 or pro-10. I like both of those preamps. The pro-10 is far superior but they usually fetch a lot more money than the pro-5. I’ve looked at trying the pt-3 and pt-5, but haven’t got around to that yet. They both have remotes which would be a plus for me. As for the softer highs, it’s not much of a problem for me. Especially when paired with the La Scala’s. They really sounded sweet!! I think you will be hard pressed to find a better amp for the money.

I’ve been running B&K amps and preamps for a very long time. I love them. I’ve probably been through 10 other amplifier combinations and keep coming back to B&K. I’m not an audiophile so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but I haven’t found anything that I would replace either of my amps with. The only gripe I would have is that they seem to soften the high end section a bit compared to other amps I’ve owned. I compare it to how I think Marantz softens the highs on klipsch speakers. I’m running a 4420 reference and Pro-10 pre right now and every set of Klipsch I’ve paired them with sound fantastic. I even ran that setup with a pair of La Scala’s and it sounded excellent. I owned a pair of Chorus II and preferred a Yamaha M-85 with those. The B&K sounded fine on them, but the Yamaha took them to another level. I started out with their most well known amp the ST-140 about 15 years ago. I had always heard to stay with their older stuff. That is simply not true. Very hard amp to beat for the money.

I used to not mind winter. I worked out in it until a couple years ago. Now I work in a heated facility. I guess I’m getting soft.

Man, the weather is finally starting to warm up around here. Winter hasn’t been too bad just a lot of rain and grey days. February is very depressing in the Midwest. Looking forward to longer days and warmer temps.

Most Americans are used to poor customer service by now. We live in the era of cheap goods and how quick can it be delivered to me. Businesses like Klipsch, who have been known for their customer service and quality products, suffer in a market like this.

I love my 942-4’s don’t get me wrong. They have a bigger sound than anything I’ve ever owned. I just like the sound of horn loaded bass better. I heard Dave A’s super MWM’s and haven’t forgot about them since.

I agree. Nothing that I’ve heard compares to the big Klipsch horn loaded speakers. One day, I will have some.

I’ve never understood why they don’t have Metallica play the halftime show. They have been somewhat popular for over 30 years. Talk about getting people pumped up.

Kinda high in my opinion too, but pretty consistent with the prices I’ve been seeing lately. Now if they were a beautiful pair of splits, I’d be headed East.

Rent a U-Haul and add some 402’s.

I use a passive crossover with mine and a single amp. They sound fantastic.

Look for a pair of Chorus I. I would suggest Chorus II’s, but if you want something that takes up less space than the Cornwall, the Chorus I is your best bet. It doesn’t have a passive radiator so you can place it closer to the wall. Also has a smaller footprint and in my opinion sounds better than a Cornwall.
