  1. Gransfors Bruk axes. I split a ton of wood by hand. I purchased one of their axes 2O years ago and really liked the quality. Now I have a pretty good collection.
  2. I’ve only run La Scala’s with an amp/preamp combo and was always happy with the sound. Now I’m wanting to change it up and try a vintage receiver. I’m 40 years old and I’ve never tried tubes. I’ve always wondered if I would like them so I think now is the time to try. I’m gonna try to find a Fisher 500c that has been gone through and is sonically in good shape. I figure that will be a good way to test the waters before I throw a ton of money at something I might not like.
  3. https://www.ebay.com/itm/353367597255 This is the second ad in two days I’ve seen for a set of MWM’s. Must be a sign.
  4. I’ve been using Tidal for a little over a year. It doesn’t have all the music I listen to, but offers a lot of live recordings and unreleased content I haven’t found anywhere else. Still it is missing bands that should be included. For example, Metallica was just made available at Christmas. I’m gonna look in to Amazon HD and compare.
  5. For me, It’s hard to beat unfinished birch. Especially when it gets that natural golden patina over time. It gives me goose bumps just thinking about it. 😆
  6. That’s what I normally do. I guess I’m finally growing up.
  7. Yes that is. I saw that posting too. I’d love to have them.
  8. Man, I wish I had the room for these.

  10. Ok, thanks. Now I understand. What do they sound like as is? Have you experimented with room placement? Maybe in corners?
  11. So, are your cabinets Klipsch or did you build them? I tried to look back in the thread, but can’t seem to find that information. I’m not sure I would try to modify them. There are quite a few factors that would play in to moving/enlarging the ports. I’m definitely not qualified to give advice on that. Maybe someone else will chime in with some experience. Good luck.
  12. It’s almost a disgrace seeing them sit on an old sales shelf next to discarded china and a wooden decoy.
  13. Those look like KP-301’s. It would be a shame to cut up the cabinets.
  14. I bought a couple items from Joe recently. Laser fast shipping and in better shape than advertised. I would not hesitate to buy from him in the future. Thanks Joe.
  15. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the A55-G so I’m going to try Them in a set of La Scala’s. I like the K55’s just want to try something different.
  16. Those look really nice. What do you think of the A55-G compared to a K55-V?
  17. wuzzer and BigStewMan, hang in there. I’ve never really dealt with what you guys are going through myself, but some of the people close to me deal with it daily. I feel for you. It’s definitely no B.S.
  18. No problem. I just sold my last pair not too long ago and already miss them. They were my first set of Klipsch speakers. I think the are very underrated in the Klipsch lineup.
  19. Looks like a pair of KG4 to me. I’ve had 4 pair of those. Very nice speaker if you ask me.
  20. RIP Bob. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
  21. I think most brick and mortar stores are gone because most people don’t care about customer service or quality anymore. That isn’t just the case for high end audio, that is the case for brick and mortar stores in general.
  22. That is a sound dampening material similar to Dynamat.
