  1. Moby Dick, with my boy, I find working through the "classics" with youngsters works well......
  2. That's what it says on the xovers, don't know if Bob makes more than one type for the bass bins, so I added his phrasing.....
  3. I bet they sound very good, better than the Jubs with that horn on top I don't know. I have heard that those types of horns on top, have more problems than the Jub type horns of similar size.
  4. This is what I am used to hearing, its so powerful and clear that with some recordings it will make you uncomfortable, because you just cant believe what you are feeling and what is flying around your head.. The separation of instruments and clarity, is like nothing I have ever heard....
  5. Hang in there, you will get it right! Not that how much a speaker costs truly matters, but someone recently wanted to trade me some 250lb each, " high end" speakers for my secondary system, they were 18k a pair new. I declined, my Jubs are in a way different league than my secondary system. Good Luck!
  6. Something is not right here, I have never heard more clear, clean powerful bass from a two channel setup.
  7. They are for the Jub bass bins only, you would need a xover for the mids and tweets.
  8. I would look into an older Panasonic saxr 55, great reviews, very musical, 100 watts dual mono, and you can get one for 100 off ebay. I have had a slew of much more expensive amps, of the 25 or so amp preamp combos, very few have bested it, at a fraction of the price. A lot of people love this amp and there are reasons for it. Good luck!
  9. They feel like they weight over 25 pounds, they are beastly! Very well made!
  10. Gave away some really cool looking Birch Cornwalls, never seen a pair like them. New owner moved, wrapped them in double cardboard, and duct taped blankets to them. Moving company crushed multiple corners on both speakers, I still cant figure out how they did it, maybe they threw them of the truck? What a shame...
  11. Very nice pair of BC jubilee bass bin xovers with bass boost. These are really nicely made heavy xovers. New they were 650 plus shipping. Asking 350. Thanks!
  12. Was just curious, I know its not arms and legs, or losing a loved one, war, famine, and we could go on and on...... and if you don't need a hanky in this world,,,,,,,,,, well........
  13. Recently Sold some tricked out Altec Model 19s, in mint condition, and although I have better speakers in my main listening area, I FEEL SICK ALMOST. Loved my 19s. Was curious If any of you have sold things audio or otherwise that you had some form of mental or physical reaction to letting go. Its so odd I really don't get attached to things. GREAT NEWS IS, they went to a true audio lover and a solid steward of audio gear.
  14. There has to be something very wrong with the set up. I have heard 802's a couple of times, once with around 65k in front of them, they aren't even in the same league as my jubes even without the Tads.. good luck!!!
  15. Maybe its the election, I know post and prior, many people are freaked out........and they should be.....
  16. Why have these not sold yet? this is a no brainer!!! Jubilees are insanely good with great recordings......
  17. I have tried the sony unit you mentioned and thought it sounded very dry and flat. i then stumbled an a few websites that all they do is review and test hundreds of tuners. One that they both put in the top 10 was a Yamaha t 85, they were right its incredible. One of the coolest features is it can manipulate the band width. When you listen to a classical station it has the ability to make it fell like you dead center 15 rows back or 100 rows back. I can't recommend this unit enough, the sound is glorious and it pulls in tons of channels.
  18. I have a pair in Minnesota if you are ever out this way.
  19. I think they are, the ones that were just unwrapped, VERY interesting....... On the avs forum he is asking 1800
  20. I've been there, way to many beers and girls to notice the Khorns!
  21. This is the weirdest thread I have seen in a long time......
  22. Maybe we need the flying V?
  23. Never pee on a guru and expect it not too splash in your face....
