  1. ^ ^ ^ this Jeff Matthews is very true. and no, no intent to have you check the reference to you or directly quote you. but to me, and I think some of you - time is the most valuable thing in the world. if I am burdened by upkeep of something, where that upkeep becomes a PITA (pain in the ...), then why have it? do I really need it? my time is the most valuable thing in the world to me, preferably to use as I please
  2. N/A - saw this in my CL alert. pics aren't what I would call great but the speakers look like at least a 5-6 /10 https://northmiss.craigslist.org/ele/6531834178.html
  3. if that's all you pay, you need to be sure you dine at the counter where they ask if you want fries wit dat and promote that you can have it your way from a former waiter & bartender in a previous life.
  4. well, currently living in metro Jackson MS, 2010 count 173k. having lived in a small town of 2000 before moving to Jackson, it wasn't bad. but - having lived in B'ham AL for 40 yrs before, and now living in a similar metro area - I do enjoy the conveniences of the bigger cities. and like Neil said somewhere - medical care has become more important as my GF & I both age and need slowly increasing medical monitoring, checkups etc. but I did enjoy the small town & country life. I've always been one to make the best of what I have - when I get lemons, give me some Stoli or Grey Goose, ice, a shaker and some cane sugar & I can have a nice time.
  5. there ya go Baron. maybe I have a team now :-)
  6. 10-4. since I don't have a dog, or a Tiger, still in the hunt, I haven't chosen a 'replacement' to root for. too much bs swirling around me currently
  7. Tarheel - who will you be rooting for in that one? supporting the local Devils, or are you like me, struggle to support a rival like that? inquiring minds... and all that
  8. have to give a shout out to a "local team" here -> Miss State dominated Louisville last nite AT UofL 79-56. their worst home loss (in that arena I guess. IDK; didn't watch, heard it on local news/sports/talk today) and some here are STILL saying would have been better to go to the real dance, be one & done rather than make it to NYC. I'm all for getting to the big dance if you can, but we've already discussed all that. gotta pull for them a little bit in the big apple. now they get Penn St on 3/27 at the Garden. good times!
  9. ditto - congrats. exciting times here already, and to come. we've been watching real estate in a number of areas. some markets have next to no inventory, and yes - some people will list & photograph ANYTHING. you're off the ground to a flying start. best wishes for you & the fam going forward. and the fur babies
  10. love it. unfortunately don't have a DeLorean. I doubt it will work in my Impala. bummer

    NOLA maple Heresy

no affil. not many pics either, none of rear, tags, model or s/n. so not many details in the post. but I do like the grilles. linen? or maybe aftermarket/custom? neworleans.craigslist.org/
  12. I've always been, and still am, fearful of powering up with no speakers attached. not being any kind of expert or really experienced in "advanced" AV, is that a legitimate concern? thanks.
  13. boy that was difficult - convincing you to test it
  14. fewer recluses has GOT to be a good thing, eh? ugh. never been bitten by one of those things, and never want to be. ugh. one nasty bugger, that one.
  15. nice. way to show out Dave! I prolly would have done the same. yeah - MSG. wow. would be a very cool trip no doubt. true - win the NIT or lose 1st round of the real dance? no question for me - NIT. now - Elite 8 or win the NIT? a little more difficult choice but I think I would take the big dance in that case. the NCAA's currently get the better talent of the 2 tourneys. I believe to improve your game you have to "play up" - play against talent better than you. when I have played competitively, and I occasionally do but not recently, I still prefer to play up. forces me to learn to be a better player, which is what I want.
  16. excellent tip. never would have thought of that.
  17. ditto what you said Neil about how Hawking sort of kicked adversity in the teeth (or elsewhere), continuing to persevere in spite of such challenges presented him. and we sometimes think we have it rough. yes, sometimes we do. but those that do press on like your friend and like SH have my respect & admiration. RIP Mr. Hawking. many of us don't even grasp the importance of your contributions. but some of us did fully comprehend & appreciate your contributions on The Big Bang Theory
  18. haven't we all? or most of us? I just don't ever do business with those folks again, and steer anyone & everyone far, FAR away from them.
  19. nice. gotta love that. what happened to people who are willing to pay a fair price for goods or services rendered? I have a couple folks I do business with almost exclusively where I trust their judgement & recommendations, and usually tell remind them of that when I say "ok, go ahead. call me if anything changes, or when you're done"
  20. wow, serious spraying right there. I live near the JAN airport/guard base. they have the big transports - 130's maybe here too. IDK. - that do flybys, touch & go's, or something, circle low enough to hear the prop sound. that part - kinda cool. needing those babies to spray for skeeters? not real cool if the need is that serious. wow.
