  1. I expected a similar response from you haha Didn’t I see that ad you posted on US Audiomart for the nuclear fusion powered rca interconnects you were printing with your 3D printer for under $22,000? Btw that was a killer deal at that discounted price.
  2. I already learned the hard way - That is why I had to spend the $$$ on an SAS stylus that ran about $200 Still love the bass slam of that old Dual idler Drive.it was a few $$$ less then $130,000 but I also paid less for my house than $130,000 - I think only really rich guys like Claude has the kind of money to run turntables that run in the 6 figures.lol
  3. Also - My Dual 1229 with its Shure V15 Type 3 and my Tecnics 1200 MKii with its Denon dl-110 sound pretty darned good but like everything there obviously can be many things that sound better for more $$$$$$$$$$$$
  4. ok - so go up to $2000 instead of $i,000 - that's a far cry from $130,000
  5. USA Audiomart also has $130,000 turntables - yikes - but it’s cool that stuff like that exists and I am sure there is someone who can hear the difference of a $1,000 and $130,000 turntable. I don’t know if I could. I agree what people use their $$$$ for is nobody else’s business. Spend it if you have got it and have fun with those $20,000 speakers cables whoooohooo
  6. It appears that there will be no new Fortes introduced at CES this year - BOO!!!
  7. The bass sounds fabulous on the Pontus
  8. I’m using a denefrips Pontus and it’s the best DAC I have ever heard but I have not heard the Terminatoror or the other r2r dacs out there
  9. Sold K77s - still have my K75s available! Slowly but surely moving speaker parts out to make room for, new to me, equipment
  10. You will love the Puffin. Lots of ways to dial it in just the way you want it to sound but even the defaults make the preamp sound great. I have a Schiit Loki EQ I enjoy using. I have not tried adjusting the Puffins DSP tone controls or using the air or tilt features yet but am anxious to do so to compare with the Loki - Using the clean filter makes my records sound great - better than ever having pops and crackles gone while the sound is still totally analog sounding.
  11. My newest addition to my setup which is now just a Blueos Node2i playing into a Denefrips Pontus and a dedicated phono setup that rotates from a Technics 1200 MKii and a Dual 1229. I have been using a Musical Fidelity Phono Preamp that sounded very good until tonight when my Puffin DSP Preamp from Parks Audio arrived and I am very impressed already with the Puffin. Kind of a wow moment in my analog setup. My Technics has a Denon MC cartridge DL-110 and sounded very good once I had VTA and alignment dialed in. The Puffin has so many features it is crazy. First thing I was able to do was move the stereo balance to make my listening seated position perfect and set the load and gain - Put "Clean" to the on position and pops are virtually eliminated and it does not appear to add any digital noise or sheen or anything - It just sounds awesome. Anyone into vinyl should check out the Puffin. Every change I make seems to enhance my listening experiences. Most of the $$$ for my Puffin came from me selling old speaker parts to members on this forum.
  12. I have a Primaluna evo 400 integrated and it sounds amazing and has ht bypass but it’s pretty heavy. It is the best sounding amp I have ever heard. I have heard good things about holidays tube integrateds
  13. My wife bought me wildflowers for Christmas and I had it on cd for years but could never find it for less than $500 on vinyl before now. What a great album and I am totally enjoying it with all of the “all the rest” tracks - I love Tom Petty
  14. Has anyone tried using a Goldpoint passive preamp to control speaker balance when your Integrated Amp doesn't come with speaker balance controls nor your room the ability to position your speakers so the balance is perfect in your preferred listening position? Its not far off - perhaps a foot over 12 feet but I would love to make that one foot shift. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
  15. Hoping for a larger midrange horn like in the cornwalls
  16. Loving the kt150s and Brimar tubes that are now in my EVO 400
  17. Hi Jeff - I had the McIntosh ma252 and it was beautiful, very well made and sounded very good. First tube amp I ever heard was at Upscale Audio and it was the Primaluna evo 400. I became obsessed with the evo and traded in my McIntosh the following week. That was a year ago and I am now tube rolling and enjoying every minute listening to music thru the PL. For me personally it was more than worth the price of admission. Good luck in your search
  18. I have my fathers Forte 1s that I installed crites crossovers in, changed out tweeters to Dave as lmahl tweeters and had the grills covered in beautiful cane. These are my mains. Last year I bought a beater series of heresys and converted those to super hearesys and also revenered them and added cane grills to match my fortes - these are used as rear surrounds.and I also have a klipsch 450ca center Channel speaker
  19. I have heard rumors that new Fortes are possibly going to be introduced at CES - again - just rumors as I have zero insider information about anything.
  20. Hef was 82 when he hooked up with crystal - she was a young 22. Beautiful girl but seeing my friend dating this 82 year old dude was pretty bizarre even for me who had worked with a lot of beautiful women that dated men that could have been the girls grandfathers- and just YUCK
  21. Yes I am very very lucky - 22 years of a very happy marriage. I'm retired but she is the president of the company she works at so life is awesome. Here she is with our two Corgi pups at the Marina that is just down the street from us.
