  1. I sent a text asking about the cabinet condition - I don't need more speakers but I could probably get $700 to $800 for my refurbished Heresy 1s and to have four Fortes in my living room would be awesome.
  2. I use my HSU subwoofer hooked to my PL instead of my Yamaha AVR for both music and Home Theater
  3. I bet those sound incredible - too bad I have nowhere to put them in my small house and listening room - GLWS
  4. I had the MA252 and traded it in on the Primaluna EVO 400 and I think the PL was night and day better than the MA252. I love the Primaluna as do many people that own one.
  5. that Yamaha is a very nice Integrated amp - Beautiful with a great build
  6. I had one - traded it in on a Primaluna all tube amp you can pm me if you have any questions about the MA252
  7. I had an MA252 for over a year. It was beautiful and very well built and sounded very good playing thru my Forte 1s. 7 months ago I traded the MA252 in for a Primaluna EVO 400 Integrated after hearing how great that all Tube integrated sounded. As nice as the MA252 is it did not sound in the same league as the Primaluna. Not even close imho. Could just be the synergy of my system but it sounds so good now I cant stop listening
  8. I have been listening to a lot of music this past week since I installed Daves LMAHLs and i think they are pretty well broken in now. When first installed they seemed just slightly hot. I had prepared Lpads to install if I thought they broke in and remained too loud. Dave had told me that his Tweeters had higher sensitivity than the original Forte one drivers so he had me wire up some Lpads to drop if I thought they were too loud. Fortunately after the initial break-in I think my speakers now sound amazing. In my office I use some KEF LS wireless speakers and they are very accurate and have amazing highs. I feel my fortes tweeters now sound accurate similar to the sounds the KEFs make. Very clear and guitar strings sound amazing. Vocals have never been as concise or nuanced and cymbals and piano are so much more alive - all in all I am a very happy camper.
  9. I don't know about the Forte 3s but my Forte 1s don't go very low either. I have a large HSU subwoofer and the combo makes the entire system sound so full and amazing. I wouldn't want a system that doesn't fill in the energy in that lower octave - it's more feel than sound actually- feeling the extremely low bass notes adds so much that most speakers can never capture by themselves. Forte 1s at 32 hz compared to HSU sub down to 18 hz!
  10. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-K-79-76-792-LMAHL-V2-1-Pair-Dropin-Replacment-for-Klipsch-OEM-B-C-DE10-/323749042387
  11. By removing the passive radiator it is very easy to access and install the back plated driver to the lens attached to the motorboard. I think the second tweeter took me about 20 minutes to take out the old tweeter and install the LMAHL and replace the Cane grills. Really not difficult at all.
  12. Dave A recommended the DE10 and thats what he ships with his aluminum lens
  13. Hi Claude your posts are the ones that enticed me to buy Daves LMAHLs - Thank you - what a difference they make. They have totally transformed my Fortes from really good to mind boggling great. I may have to get a pair for my Heresys now.
  14. Sorry I dont have any pictures because my cane grills are already installed and I forgot to take pictures before i sttached the grills. They are 8 OHMs but they have a higher sensitivity than the original tweeters that came with the Forte 1s - They are beautiful, though!
  15. I received a very well boxed set of Dave A LMAHL Tweeters in the mail yesterday from Dave A. First off they are beautiful! The machining is gorgeous. My Forte 1s have been in my family for over 40 years and after installing Dave A,s LMAHL,s they have never sounded better. First impressions are WOW!!!!! Dave packed them well and included the DE10 Drivers, his machined aluminum lenses, a tube of Loctite some extra leads and great documentation on how to instal the tweeters in my Fortes. Per Daves suggestion I picked up some Lpads and wired them up ready to install as soon as I started to to work on the project. Removing the passive radiator made the instal much easier than removing the midrange horn. I decided to hold off installing the Lpads until I listened to the speakers to see if I found the tweeters to be too HOT without attenuating them down. My first impressions are that these tweeters take my vintage Fortes to another level and at first listen I don't find them too loud in my system. I had installed Bob Crites titanium tweeters about 5 years ago and liked the sound they presented but they are not as clear, clean and with the presence Dave,s LMAHL,s. They now sound like a much richer speaker than before. I have listened to Joni Mitchel, Neil Diamond, Peter Frampton Acoustic, Jethro Tull, etc -and damn - in less than an hour they sound truly magnificent. I'd love to hear the Forte iiis just to see if they sound as good as my Forte 1s with Dave A,s LMAHL,s. and...big thanks to Dave for all his help and creating such a great product! Cheers! I'l let you know after I get 24 hours or so on them if Im still as happy with them. If I find they break in and get too hot I will add the Lpads in but as of now I think they sound amazing as is.
  16. I use HSU subs and love them - great bang for the buck
  17. Did you install Lpads when you installed the LMHAHLs or was it not too bright?
  18. Very excited for you - hope your experience is as positive for you as it has been for me these past 6 months - that combo pf PL and Cornwalls should sound Incredible!
  19. Sending positive vibes to you, your wife and family! Peace and respect
  20. Sorry - I meant why? I totally understand as I have been giving my equipment away to family and friends in recent years instead of storing them somewhere forever and not using them. Had a nice Pair of Cerwin Vega 380SE speakers I gave to a nephew recently that I had out in my garage taking up space and now he's totally enjoying them. I also gave away my old AVR and a KEF subwoofer I never listened to once I bought my HSU subs - I think it is probably time to get rid of my NAD 3200 Amp and preamp and Tuner and my CD players which I never ever use anymore. Once I got my Bluesound Node 2i streamer and Denefrips Dac I will never go back to CDs
  21. Jackson Browne Acoustic Shape of a Heart - his acoustic sets sound fantastic LOUD
  22. another one that sounds great with volume pumped up - - Wanted Dead or Alive - Chris Daughtry - American Idol Season 5 Encore
  23. Yes it is the MQA version and it sounds AMAZING and loud is best because you can feel it and it feels GOOD.
