  1. Exactly like all the other reasonably priced pairs of Chorus II's I have been searching for, gone in the first 24 hours.
  2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sn1y2WK_Wpw&t=4s&EXTKEY=EE914IBAC&utm_source=acxiom&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20190129_cromc_engagewkly Consumer Reports has a television series, and this segment has some entertaining information you can share with your family about how sound waves work within an anechoic chamber.
  3. I agree with the above statement. I heard both in the same room, side by side, same equipment. I preferred the Forte III. However, I may be biased, as I preferred the sound that was closer to what I have been listening to for the past 14 years. La Scala II was overall the clear winner of the day though. I suggest keeping an open mind on them. I just don't have the space requirements. I'm sticking with Chorus II.
  4. Very nice find. I am right there with you in preferences. I have been buying physical movie disks at a feverish pace ever since audio CD's were pulled from retail store shelves. I have added approx. 175 titles to my collection in 2018 alone.
  5. https://lexington.craigslist.org/ele/d/lexington-klipsch-forte-ii-floor/6793707910.html Looks like a great pair for a fair price. circa 1992. Too far for me or I would have bought them by now, and besides I am looking for Chorus II's in walnut to replace the Forte II's in black I have now.
  6. Get the one with the most features you will use now and over the next 4-5 years. If you still cannot settle, go to another brand, and get your broken onkyo repaired for free if possible.
  7. 3 business days remaining. Time to get out of stealth mode and get what you can.
  8. In modern furniture, finish of any sort is either non existant or very thin. You will not find a high gloss finish in furniture made in 20+ years. The more matte a finish is, the more it will obscure the wood details underneath. The more glossy a finish the more it will reflect light and that can also make it hard to see the wood underneath it depending on the light and angle.
  9. The tech at Onkyo I spoke to on the phone back when I had issues, was very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful. They can help you make an informed and confident decision.
  10. I went with the hdmi board replacement, 10 year board warranty, over trade-in due to the low trade value offered to me. I now use the onkyo tx-nr818 as an external amp powering zone 2/future atmos speakers.
  11. Hopefully @MATT0404 will share with us his subjective thoughts about how his new speakers compare to his old ones. There are many here who would love to hear about those Tektons, especially coming from an owner of Klipsch speakers. Congratulations on your success.
  12. Hopefully @MATT0404 will share his subjective thoughts with us after he has had ample time to formulate an opinion on the subject of how his new speakers compare to his old ones.
  13. I am very impressed with the offerings from Tekton, and feel that that company is moving in the right direction. They fit a niche that you don't find with many current companies. I myself am stuck in an era, and am not comfortable with the "new" sound of modern speakers. Very subjective. The price points from Tekton are incredible. Quality is there too. I have a fair share on the used market recently. What do you make of that?
  14. Tekton Double Impact, I have heard them myself, Huge sound, very impressive. Can take huge power. Were bright in the room I heard them in, and was why the owner ended up selling. Reviews on them say can't be beat for under 20K, but I am not convinced of that.
  15. Awesome, thanks for posting. Exactly what I am actively searching for. Too bad that the 650 miles puts me out of the running for them though. Happy Holidays.
  16. JBL L20T for Atmos on custom made ceiling mounts in the JBL room Klipsch The Three for the wife in her sewing room In the foreground 2 Nvidia Shields for the Klipsch and JBL rooms Also Logitech elite to replace a old URC R50 that has become so obsolete, I completely stopped using it at all about 2 years ago.
  17. These are circa 1990. Paper tags are a dead giveaway, but the model# decodes the same model year.
  18. unaffiliated For those interested there is a pair of Oak Chorus II available in Indianapolis for $800 Marantz 4400 is $1200 For both $1500 LINK
  19. If your search does not bear fruit, I would be happy to re-buy the single oak Chorus II back from you that is in need of the passive. Good Luck. I have not found the Walnut pair I have been looking for myself.
  20. 1992... Copyright 1988. Not saying nay, just lots of new added data since.
  21. I am currently attempting to work out the serial ## and decode, so I can determine the historical significance on this pair. I don't have the ##'s yet though.
  22. I needed to replace a broken tape measure and found these new models. Along the way I saw this new model saw on the clearance table. Crazy to even consider paying this much ($400) for a circular saw, but this was the store display model, so it was 25% off and that comes out to be $50 more than what the older 9.0 model sold for while adding about 2X the power and 33% more battery capacity. If you have not heard, the new 21700 lithium cells are a very substantial improvement over the 18650 last gen cells. I also buy one big driver bit set annually and this was the biggest one they had. BTW I got the security alarm included, so that is sitting in a bucket of water chirping away dying a slow death. LOL
  23. He has a guy coming tomorrow, but he did not sound confident about the buyers ability to pay in full. I told him to call me if the sale falls apart. Then I ask myself why do I keep doing this? I don't need them, I am sitting on 33 speakers again.
