I'm realizing, at least in my area, with vintage klipsch, you need cash in hand and to pull trigger immediately when the right deal comes up. Simple as that.

Bad idea. Move one LA scala up front? Mono up front, stereo in the rear? No..... Get another LA scala. Or... Use these as fronts and LA scala as center (trim it down a touch). Chorus ones are excellent for the price IMO, but LA scalas are MUCH better given the right room/ equipment.

Same. Above the lowest of volumes (wife sleeping), EQ will never be used and isn't needed in my situation.

Absolutely agree. I am in love with the sound of them, but without a sub, there is a giant hole in the bottom octaves that sucks the life out of music a bit. My opinion, no EQ needed. Put of curiosity, do you feel a need to EQ them? If I am casually listening at quite low volumes, I MAY boost treble a touch. Hoping cable swapping will take care of this and brighten system up a bit for my taste.

Couldn't tell you. On just about every amp I use them with, highs are slightly softened and bass is Def increased in quantity. Slightly dark sounding. My experience has been the exact opposite.
