  1. Back to my point "Unless it's a car audio application and the primary intent is literally rocking the block, I don't think I have ever heard of someone blowing a home audio woofer from excessive volume." I don't play with vintage amps so DC being a culprit wouldn't have come to mind.
  2. Yeah I understand. Someone will buy it I'm sure.
  3. Thanks for the alert. I got excited.... Then I saw the price.... Oh well, next time.

You know you want em 👍
  5. I'm sure it will be worth it. Didn't look at the specs or the speaker much after the price tag shock. Those are impressive.
  6. Roger. Either way, props to born2rock for a clean looking setup
  7. Thanks for voicing that aloud. I am often surprised that never gets said aloud. I feel it in good taste to put the words to paper.
  8. @Maximus89, thanks for the detailed info that will likely help many. Btw, nice setup. CARVER ZR amps, haven't seen those for a long time. Intersting to stack flooratanders on top of subs. Never seen that done in person anyhow.
  9. I wish klipsch would make a proper replacement for the RSW15. I'll be honest in stating I haven't heard their newer subs, but based on the feedback, I don't even think I would consider them. Not happy to say that (luckily, I can't say that about MOST Klipsch products). People can have whatever opinion of Klipsch they want, but I allow the music to do the talking for friends and family if they become curious.
  10. Please do, it clearly ticked him off as it did in my post as well.
  11. IMO it is a courtesy and respect to the seller. Whenever a price is forgotten, all are quick to yell "this isn't an auction, post a price". However, I feel we are doing the same to sellers by publicly lowballing them (done in a auction for starting price). Let a seller ask whatever he or she wants, if you aren't intersted, control your outbursts and move along politely. IF you want to give a seller useful information that he or she may not be aware of USE THE PM FUNCTION to send a PRIVATE message.
  12. If they are terrible and improvement is needed, no matter how much of a fan I am, it should be voiced.
  13. I have had this happen to me a couple times here. Ask anything you like. As with anything for sale, someone will always pay what they are willing for what is desired. No sarcasm from me whatsoever, I truly wish you the best with your sale.
  14. Correct. That's why I am surprised. I have never heard of a blown woofer (in a home audio speaker). Especially in a LA scala? I'm assuming severe amp clipping was to blame, however, I would expect mids and tweeters to be blown first unless protection circuitry was inline and did its job.
  15. You smoked the woofers and not the tweeters? How is that possible? Unless it's a car audio application and the primary intent is literally rocking the block, I don't think I have ever heard of someone blowing a home audio woofer from excessive volume. And from time to time, I listen quite loudly.
  16. Good idea. I don't know about a subforum. Feedback next to your username would make sense to me however.
  17. You did a great job restoring those. I bet they sound even better than they look.
  18. Sorry for your loss man. Wish you and the wife the best during this difficult time. That dog was clearly loved more than many. The memories will always stay with you.
  19. Sounds like lava lamp it is. Thanks guys. Those salt crystal lamps are cool too, but don't they tend to leak a little when it is humid if I remember right?
