Got some KG4.2's ... from CraigsList (in a parking lot) from a "hip-hop" guy After I got them home it turned out they were "blown." Goodbye $300 Live and learn. But ... do have KG5.2's which I use as rears in my 7.1 surround system. Very, very good, but not up to par to the classic Klipsch "heritage" speakers. Not even close to my Cornwall's ... not close to my Forte's and not comparable to my (cheaper) KG4's. Keep the Heresy's! Cheers, Emile

Jim; Just a reminder of "THE" game a couple of weeks ago ... OSU 31 - Mi 20 Go Buckeyes
-
WOW; AWESOME! Never saw a pair like those!
-
Please clarify ... does this mean we are in trouble if we have (inappropriately) touched our Klipsch speakers? I think we'll be OK - unless you're a politician or "rich." Cheers, Emile

Only scotch/vodka makes you more conductive ... wine is OK Whaah My Bob Latino VTA ST70 tube amp build is on "hold." Had decided to get a protective lucite cover for the driver board (from Roy; the "other" tubes4hifi.com partner) as I did not want to spill wine on the 500-600V connections ( or touch them after finishing a bottle.) Cannot finish the driver board connections ... have to install the cover before this, so "waiting" for the cover to arrive. Whaah Hopefully it will come later this week. Will keep "you all" posted. So; I had nothing to do and bought an oscilloscope off CraigsList (still have to pick it up and make sure it works). Have not used an oscilloscope since college. (Got some "toilet paper" degrees - as per one of our members - from THE Ohio State University.) Guess I could display "oscilloscope music graphics," or maybe fix "my build" if I had too much wine Comments appreciated on "what I can do with a scope. Cheers, Emile

Nice backyard! Great looking Quartets! Found some local (Tampa) Quartets for a reasonable price, but they need refinishing After looking at your work, maybe I'll get them. Cheers, Emile

Yeah; loved German "steel." Especially Porsche's. Had a 911 turbo - souped up to 550HP - scared the hell out of my wife Bit older now so all I do is turn the volume up on my Klipsch ... still scares my wife Cheers, Emile

Yeah; awesome ... new to tubes ... tried a cheap Pilot 230, now building a Bob Latino ST70. Mc225 is on my "bucket list." Cheers, Emile
-
Yes will have a 12-pack ... i.e. 12 bottles or CASE of wine, building this Cheers, Emile

Jeez ... told her ... and she ordered a $1800 designer purse as "my" Xmas present Guess I'm lucky she did not look at jewelry. Cheers, Emile

Yeah ... got one! -
Got an early Xmas present from my wife ... but haven't told her yet.
-
AWESOME! When can you drop them of at my place in Florida?

Think Bob Crites (critesspeakers.com) sells some risers. However, there is not much to them ... easily made from some 1x2 or 1x3 pine; just add some walnut veneer and you're done for about $25. If you need the exact size, let me know and I'll measure mine. Cheers, Emile

Have a set of these that I use as rear speakers. Awesome as "support speakers." Since they are "perfect," $425 seems reasonable. But ... low end when compared to my Forte's and Cornwall's. Cheers, Emile

You are supposed to do this when the wife is "out of town"

teaman ... should be no problem Got a pair of Forte's a month ago into my stereo room without my wife noticing. But ... watch out ... neighbor told her that he helped unloading these new speakers Had to buy her a new "designer purse" which cost me more than these Forte's Cheers, Emile

@Schu, @dirtmudd, @svberger, @EJC, @shiva, @jimjimbo, @richieb, @tube fanatic, @sixsigma, @juniper, @Ceptorman, @edmjm, @derrickdj1 .... Many thanks to all of you for the GREAT advice! Thanks, thanks! Just wanted to thank you "personally." Check is in the mail to Bob Latino for a VTA ST70 with all the upgrades. Also picking up a Dynaco PAT-4 preamp tomorrow just to try it ... couldn't afford a PAS-3X. So; will have an "extra" tube amp (Pilot 230, 23W/ch) if anyone would like it (OK; prob for $250) Oops, also a Dynaco 120 since it came as a "set" with the preamp. Cheers, Emile

Many, many thanks for all the valuable replies. Decided to get a Bob Latino ST-70, WITH the cap upgrades and stepped attenuater. Also getting the FAT 6550 tubes as they look "sexy." See http://www.tubes4hifi.com/bob.htm#ST70 . Check is in the mail. Had bought a Pilot 230 tube amp (23W/ch) a couple of months ago - just to "try" tubes. See http://www.preservationsound.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Pilot_HiFi_Line_1962_Catalog.pdf and https://www.ebay.com/itm/112376329144?rmvSB=true (yes; idiot lists it as 200W) for some info. Paid $350, but will list in the Garage Sale section next week for say $250. Pretty good condition. Anyone interested let me know. Thanks and Cheers, Emile

Thanks for all the info in this thread. Was running another thread ("Tube Amp for newbie") and got very valuable info there also. Darn ... not in my "pick-up" range ...

Thanks! Yes, had seen these ads before .... hesitant on the "homebuild" one since the seller had no clue about it except for the "write-up." One ad is "gone," Dynaco is still there and emailing him now. Thanks! Cheers, Emile
